EVs Fall Short of EPA Estimates by a Much Larger Margin Than Gas Cars in Our Real-World Highway TestingWhile internal-combustion cars often match or exceed their EPA highway fuel economy numbers, a new paper using data from C/D's highway tests show that EVs are far worse at meeting expectations. By Caleb MillerPublished: Apr 21, 2023A new paper published by SAE International uses Car and Driver's real-world highway test data to show that electric vehicles underperform on real-world efficiency and range relative to the EPA figures by a much greater margin than internal-combustion vehicles. While the latter typically meet or exceed...

A little FYI that most people have forgotten or weren't aware of in the first place. The first Earth Day was Lenin's 100th birthday and this wasn't a coincidence. Earth Day was started by commies and when you celebrate Earth Day be aware you're honoring communism and Vladimir Lenin.

If identifying as Jack and Carson makes me a mentally ill schizophrenic, wouldn't identifying as Jack and Jill not also make me a mentally ill schizophrenic? Further, proceeding to have my body mutilated to try to become female when actually born a male would heighten that mentally ill classification, wouldn't it? It is known that schizophrenics ARE dangerous and DO kill. This seems to mesh with what we are seeing among the transgender population as they begin to assault and kill those who disagree with them. So, does that make those who defend and support that lifestyle mentally ill? KJP,...

How do we know that Jesus was someone and something different than the numerous religious leaders or founders of religions that have appeared on the stage of world history over the centuries? Last week we examined one way that he is different: unlike Buddha, Mohammed, or Zarathustra, Jesus rose from the grave after his death, appearing and talking to his followers at length. In this week’s liturgy, the Third Sunday of Easter, we examine another remarkable piece of evidence for the uniqueness of Jesus: the fact that his suffering and resurrection were strikingly foreshadowed by the sacred writings of the...

A Japanese merchant ship sunk during World War II while carrying more than 1,000 Allied prisoners of war has been found, officials announced Saturday. The Montevideo Maru was torpedoed on July 1, 1942, off the coast of the Philippines by a United States submarine whose crew did not realize the vessel carried prisoners of war. It was Australia’s largest maritime wartime loss with a total of 1,080 lives. The 12-day search of the Luzon island in the South China Sea by a team of explorers using an autonomous underwater vehicle with in-built sonar took them 13,120 feet below the sea...

Few Americans are being politically targeted more than those who identify as transgender, a different gender than the one assigned at birth, or simply by choosing no gender at all. Transgender people seem like easy targets when you look at the sheer volume of legislative attempts to restrict or ban their actions. However, when you put it to the American people, they are far more likely to be accepting, especially if the person in question knows someone who is transgender. Even before the shooting in Nashville, Tenn., allegedly by someone who identified as transgender, there have been political attempts to...

We’ve been watching this play out for decades: The left coopts institutions, leaving conservatives with nowhere to go. For leftists, it’s been a never-fail tactic, so they always come back to it. And the reason it never fails is because of us: The left’s greatest advantage is that they’re lucky in their enemy because conservatives never learn. We conservatives are the living embodiment of Einstein’s definition of insanity, repeatedly responding the same way to the leftists’ tactics and hoping against hope for a different outcome. Vivek invited James Lindsay on his show to discuss leftist strategies. If Lindsay’s name sounds...

For decades, conservatism has been hindered by a major personality flaw: its sense of humor. Or rather its lack thereof. Humor is a powerful weapon for telling stories and mocking one’s enemies, something the American Left mastered with the skill of a Renaissance sculptor. While so-called liberals were defining the edges of popular culture with the help of Bill Hicks, Chevy Chase and Jon Stewart, the right was mounting sad rebuttals via the likes of Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy. ... There’s a lesser-known franchise poised to help lead the right’s humor revolution. Flappr, ostensibly a humor blog,...

Cassandra in Greek mythology was the Trojan priestess who was cursed to utter true prophecies but never to be believed. Ideological environmentalism features a cohort of reverse Cassandras: They make false prophecies that are widely believed. Stanford biologist Paul Ehrlich in his 1968 classic, The Population Bomb, prophesied, "The battle to feed all of humanity is over. In the 1970s hundreds of millions of people will starve to death in spite of any crash programs embarked upon now." Ehrlich continues to predict imminent overpopulation doom. Another reverse Cassandra was Rachel Carson who warned in her 1962 Silent Spring of impending...

Perhaps the most moderate candidate in the field as of this moment is Donald Trump. If you want a Republican who won’t cut spending or start foreign wars, Trump is still your man. Added to this now is clearly a discomfort with the fight over abortion in the post-Roe environment. Trump’s main line of attack against Ron DeSantis is from the left. He’s hitting the Florida governor hard for his past support for reining in Social Security and Medicare. He’s also called the governor’s culture-war clash with Disney “so unnecessary” and “a political stunt,” while not entering the fray in...

“On the Road and at the Table with Jesus” (Luke 24:13-35) The painting I’m holding in front of you--and you can see it on your bulletin insert--is called, in German, “Gang nach Emmaus,” or in English, “The Road to Emmaus.” It’s by a 19th-century Swiss artist, Robert Zünd. And it’s one of my favorite paintings. Imagine putting yourself into this picture and getting to walk alongside Jesus as he opens up the Scriptures! And then when you get to Emmaus, to be right there at the table with Jesus! What a day! What an experience! “On the Road and at...

The “ComEd Four” trial preparing for closing arguments in Chicago could provide what one state representative says is a “master class” on needed ethics reforms at the Illinois capitol. Closing arguments are set in the trial where prosecutors allege a nearly decade long bribery scheme involving a utility and powerful statehouse actors. Three lobbyists and a former ComEd official on trial the past six weeks all pleaded not guilty in the scheme allegedly involving former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan. Madigan, who faces more than 20 corruption-related charges, has pleaded not guilty with a trial expected next spring. State Rep....

A lucky coincidence has given Murphy the opportunity to nurture an eaglet of his ownIn early March, a bald eagle named Murphy, a resident of the World Bird Sanctuary in Valley Park, Missouri, was ready to become a father. He crafted his nest carefully in the bottom of his enclosure, his home for most of his 31 years of life since an injury left him unable to fly. As time went on, he became more and more protective of his offspring, screeching and charging at anyone who tried to come near. “We’ve never had a bird at the sanctuary protect...

Former President Trump launched a series of new attacks Friday at the state of Florida in a new email campaign taking aim at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R). “The real DeSantis record is one of misery and despair,” Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung said in a statement. “He has left a wake of destruction all across Florida and people are hurting because he has spent more time playing public relations games instead of actually doing the hard-work needed to improve the lives of the people he represents.”

Tucker calls out Biden's new equity agenda in home ownership For centuries, politicians in this country assumed that in order to win an election, you had to convince voters to vote for you. You had to make their case. That was called democracy. But the defining strategic insight of the modern Democratic Party is they don't really need to convince anyone of anything. What matters is demographics. To import enough people from elsewhere, people who are financially dependent on you in order to live. That's the story of the state of California. That's why California changed. It's why Texas is...
