Extreme views adopted by some local, state and federal political leaders who try to limit what history can be taught in schools and seek to undermine how Black officials perform their jobs are among the top threats to democracy for Black Americans, the National Urban League says. Marc Morial, the former New Orleans mayor who leads the civil rights and urban advocacy organization, cited the most recent example: the vote this month by the Republican-controlled Tennessee House to oust two Black representatives for violating a legislative rule. The pair had participated in a gun control protest inside the chamber after...

"And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. "And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again." "Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to...

Pro-crime policies work. They always work. Minneapolis Police records showed there have been 2,725 auto thefts so far in 2023, compared to 1,306 last year at this time. What could the home of famous drug overdose victim George Floyd be doing right to make that happen? “I bet 14 or 16 years old, came up, had guns, like right into, you know, my stomach, and all I could look at was the gun,” Craig Boettcher said. He was one of the 755 victims attacked in the Twin Cities last year. We know stories like his well. “They said ‘Give us...

No other Supreme Court justice has faced the unrelenting 30-year leftist lynching of Clarence Thomas. Even Justice Kavanaugh, whose hoax persecution was closely modeled on Anita Hill, was largely limited to an effort to sink his nomination. Leftist rage against Thomas has been sustained for decades by his strong conservative principles and the inconvenient fact that he is a black man and the left’s illegitimate power derives from claiming that it is protecting black people from oppression… by a black justice. The latest round of leftist attacks have gone after Justice Thomas’ wife, Ginni Thomas, and Leola Thomas, his 94-year-old...

Even in many pro-gun counties, government employees who aren’t law enforcement don’t get to carry guns at work. In many cases, it’s not a huge deal. Many workers are in protected buildings and they wouldn’t carry a gun anyway. Others have to travel for work, often in sketchy parts of town while being responsible for a lot of expensive equipment. They’re a target. Yet one Florida county is looking to possibly change that. The Manatee County Commission voted unanimously Tuesday to adopt a new policy allowing county employees to carry firearms at work. Commissioner James Satcher first made the proposal...

The media obsession in vilifying Jack Texeira for “leaking” TOP SECRET and SECRET documents and judging him guilty without any benefit of doubt, is just another symptom of the authoritarian fever that grips many inhabitants of the United States. Forget the first amendment. Stay in the dark and trust the Government to tell you what you need to know. Before you join the mob eager to lynch the poor kid, let me share what some of my friends who are veterans of the CIA and the Air Force have said about this affair in the past few days. Both men...

Kash Patel, former chief of staff at the Pentagon and former deputy director of National Intelligence, in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News on Friday, questioned the evolving narrative over the Pentagon leaks — specifically that a 21-year-old Massachusetts Air National Guard reservist acted alone to leak top secret military data. Patel, a former federal prosecutor, said he does not believe “for a single second, this guy — a 21-year-old Air National Guardsman — ran this operation alone.” Patel said, first, the suspected leaker, Jack Teixeira, would not have had access to the information without someone within the Department of...

Explanation: A composite of images captured about a week apart from mid August 2022 through late March 2023, this series traces the retrograde motion of ruddy-colored Mars. Progressing from lower right to upper left Mars makes a Z-shaped path as it wanders past the Pleiades and Hyades star clusters, through the constellation Taurus in planet Earth's night sky. Seen about every two years, Mars doesn't actually reverse the direction of its orbit to trace out the Z-shape though. Instead, the apparent backwards or retrograde motion with respect to the background stars is a reflection of the orbital motion of Earth...

The National Republican Congressional Committee quietly deleted a fundraising page Saturday that took aim at one of their largest donors, the parent company of Bud Light, Anheuser-Busch. On Saturday morning, the powerful committee that provides support to Republican congressional campaigns blasted out a tweet calling for supporters to donate to the NRCC and, in exchange, be given a custom drink koozie. “Thanks to Dylan Mulvaney, we can all finally admit that Bud Light tastes like water,” the...
