This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the...

China will not sell weapons to either side in the Ukraine war, the country’s foreign minister has said, amid Western fears Beijing was considering providing military assistance to Russia. Beijing has backed Russia politically, rhetorically and economically since the invasion began, yet officially it has maintained it is neutral in the conflict. Meanwhile, Western nations have imposed sanctions on Russia and sought to isolate the country following its invasion of its neighbour. Speaking at a news conference on Friday alongside visiting German counterpart Annalena Baerbock, Quin Gang said: “Regarding the export of military items, China adopts a prudent and responsible...

A FEW days ago, Saudi negotiators conceded most of the short-term demands of their Houthi interlocutors in Sana’a, setting the scene for the potential resolution of a conflict that has spurred one of the world’s humanitarian crises since it was launched by Riyadh eight years ago. Inevitably, many hurdles remain to be crossed. But this could mark the beginning of the end for one of the 21st century’s stupidest wars, unleashed by an ill-advised prince who absurdly assumed it would take only months, if not weeks, to establish Saudi hegemony over a broken Arab nation with which the kingdom shares...

Michael Cohen, a former personal attorney for Donald Trump, launched a GoFundMe page late Thursday night to raise money as he contests a lawsuit the former president filed against him. “I will never be intimidated by Trump and will ensure accountability,” Cohen promised in one of a string of Twitter posts sharing a link to the fundraiser. “Donald and acolytes continue to disparage me as a way of deflection from his looming legal troubles. I will not be deterred from continuing speaking truth to power. I need your help to do so,” he said in another. As Breitbart News reported,...

Office vacancy rate in the US has climbed to 20.2% in 2023 Financing for residential building is tepid despite demand The Covid economic shutdowns have a disastrous effect on small businesses as we know. But office space is really getting crushed in terms of vacancy rates. In fact, it is so bad the investor Kyle Bass is suggesting that office space be torn down across the US much in the same way that FDR’s Agriculture Secretary Henry Wallace ordered the mass execution of hogs in order to drive up prices in a deflationary economy. (Bloomberg) Kyle Bass has some advice...

A potentially life-saving treatment to stop severe bleeding after childbirth could soon be more accessible to the people who need it the most. The challenge: Up to 5% of new parents experience severe bleeding after giving birth. This condition, known as “postpartum hemorrhage,” leads to 70,000 deaths every year, with most of them taking place in low- and middle-income countries. To stop a postpartum hemorrhage, the WHO recommends administering the IV drug tranexamic acid (TXA) — which helps blood to clot faster — within 3 hours. Every 15-minute delay in administering TXA reduces its benefit by about 10%. That can...

OFF CHARLESTON HARBOR, ON BOARD FLAGSHIP NEW-IRONSIDES, Wednesday, April 8, 1863. The sun has just gone down in Charleston harbor on what it is surely no straining of terms to call the most extraordinary contest in the annals of warfare. Distressing though it be to write tidings which will carry pain and humiliation to the heart of the nation to read, it only remains to tell you that this fleet of iron-clads has measured its strength against Fort Sumter and the works that flank the entrance to Charleston harbor, and that it has withdrawn from the contest -- discomfitted. Estimated...

For the past 14 months, you have heard two main things about the war in Ukraine. The first is that the war in Ukraine is a war of national sovereignty. It is not a proxy battle between superpowers. Russia invaded Ukraine. That was immoral. The United States supports Ukraine because the United States supports democracy, but the United States itself is not at war with Russia. This is Ukraine's war to fight. The second thing we have heard over and over again is that Ukraine is winning that war. Ukrainian troops are brave and noble. Russian troops are evil and...

HELENA, Mont. — Republicans typically cry foul when accused of rewriting election laws to benefit their candidates. But as the Montana legislature debates a new voting bill, even some GOP lawmakers concede that this one appears designed to help them win elections — more precisely, one very important election. The bill would rewrite the rules for the state’s next U.S. Senate race and only that race. The 2024 fight to oust Senator Jon Tester, a Democrat, is expected to be one of the tightest in the country. The legislation would shift the contest from a traditional election into a “top...
