Guinness World Records is urging a British woman to have her 31-year-old Tortoiseshell Cat named Rosie recognized as the oldest living feline in the world. Rosie's owner, Lila Brissett, 72, says she adopted Rosie way back in 1991. Lila must have been in her 40s when she adopted Rosie and the pair have been enjoying life together ever since. Rosie is set to celebrate its 32nd birthday in June this year.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A federal judge in Texas on Friday ordered that access to a common abortion pill be put on hold across the country, and then minutes later a federal judge in Washington ordered the Food and Drug Administration to keep the drug accessible. The dueling rulings put the medication mifepristone, which has been available for more than 20 years, in limbo. Not long after the rulings, Oregon’s senior U.S. senator, Ron Wyden, a Democrat, told KATU in a telephone interview that the president and the FDA should ignore the Texas judge’s ruling. "I think there's no basis for...

Donald Trump is now the friend of every man who holds any love in his heart for his forefathers’ country, of which we may be witnessing the last days. For reasons that remain mysterious, Donald Trump’s tormentors chose Holy Week to begin their grand inquisition. The timing is sure to fuel an identification of Trump among more fervent supporters as a persecuted martyr. But you don’t have to be a Trump acolyte to believe that what is being done to the man threatens the foundations of our government. This phony “indictment” is an unprecedented attack on the American tradition of...

Former President Donald Trump recently told aides to hire Laura Loomer, a far-right, anti-Muslim activist with a history of expressing bigoted views, for a campaign role, according to four people familiar with the plans. Trump met with Loomer recently and directed advisers to give her a role in support of his candidacy, two of the people familiar with the move said. On Tuesday, after Trump’s arraignment in New York, Loomer attended the former president’s speech at Mar-a-Lago, his resort and residence in Palm Beach, Florida. Some of Trump’s aides were said to have concerns that such a hire would cause...

At Gov. Ron DeSantis's (R-FL) urging, Florida Republicans are eagerly drafting a bill to expand the scope of defamation law. But not everyone in the conservative movement is a fan. During an exclusive interview with the Washington Examiner, former Vice President Mike Pence made clear that he was not thrilled about challenging New York Times v. Sullivan, the Supreme Court case establishing the actual malice standard for defamation of public figures. "Well, let me just say in the broadest sense, I believe a free and independent press is a bulwark of our nation," Pence said. "From my years in Congress,...

President Biden joked Monday that he only showed up to a White House event because he heard there would be ice cream — before addressing the horrific mass shooting that left six dead at a Nashville elementary school hours earlier. “My name is Joe Biden. I’m Dr. Jill Biden’s husband,” the 80-year-old president began his remarks at an East Room gathering of women-owned businesses. “And I eat Jeni’s ice cream — chocolate chip. I came down because I heard there was chocolate chip ice cream,” he said. “By the way, I have a whole refrigerator full upstairs,” Biden added at...

Work on overhauling T-64 tanks has started at the Polish arms plant Bumar-Labędy as part of the agreement between the Polish arms concern Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) and Ukroboronprom [Ukraine’s Defence Industry – ed.]. Cooperation in the maintenance of T-72 and PT-91 tanks, which were transferred to Ukraine by Poland, is also planned in the long term. The possibility of joint work on the maintenance of Leopard 2 tanks, which were transferred to Ukraine by the international coalition, is also being considered.

The combination of the Biden administration’s anti-human policies and an El Niño year is very unnerving. A “perfect storm” occurs when disparate disasters happen simultaneously, with each pushing the other to greater heights of destruction. We’re currently seeing a perfect storm in America as the Biden administration’s economic policies crash headlong into the effects of El Niño in all its fury. As a native Californian who always looked forward to El Niño years because they ended California’s cyclical droughts, I pay a lot of attention to this weather phenomenon. Its effects, while salutary when it comes to California’s droughts, are...

FARMINGTON, N.M. — At around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Farmington Police Department was dispatched to a domestic violence call on Valley View Avenue. According to New Mexico State Police, Farmington police officers mistakenly approached the wrong house. Officers reportedly knocked on the front door and announced they were police. When no one answered, officers asked dispatch to call the reporting party back and have them come to the front door. As officers backed away from the door, the homeowner approached the door, armed with a handgun. Police identified the homeowner as 52-year-old Robert Dotson. “At this point in the encounter,...

Below is my column in the Hill on why I believe the Trump prosecution would warrant an admittedly rare venue change. I am still hoping that Judge Juan Merchan has the integrity to dismiss this clearly invalid indictment. Given Bragg’s failure to even state the key offense allowing him to bring these 34 felonies, Merchan should have scheduled a hearing on the threshold legal questions in two weeks — not schedule all motions to be heard in December. Indeed, with even legal analysts on CNN and MSNBC expressing disbelief at this indictment, few beyond Karen Friedman Agnifilo and Norman Eisen...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemMark 15 The Soldiers Mock Jesus16 The soldiers led Jesus away into the palace (that is, the Praetorium) and called together the whole company of soldiers. 17 They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him. 18 And they began to call out to him, “Hail, king of the Jews!” 19 Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him. Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him. 20 And when they had mocked him, they took...

Sociologist Jonathan Haidt postulates a very interesting theory as to why non-thinkers are leftists who often act out in violence. Why do we seem so intent on destroying national kinship and in the process, destroying ourselves? Left, right, conservative, liberal, a hundred names simultaneously representing both our divisions and strident beliefs. We know how self-destructive we’ve become even as we swing the bat for our heartfelt political views for the umpteenth time. It may not surprise you that there are logical reasons as to why we do this, even to our detriment. A friend sent me an article referencing a...

The newly ousted chairman of Disney-owned Marvel Entertainment said he once contacted Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to express his support for the Republican in his public feud with the Mouse House. Ike Perlmutter, the 80-year-old billionaire executive who was ousted in the first wave of Disney’s recent layoffs, claims he was fired by the company due to his combative relationship with top brass. The notoriously outspoken Perlmutter also revealed that he called DeSantis to voice his disagreement with Disney’s decision last year to publicly lobby against the DeSantis-backed Parental Rights in Education law, branded by critics as the “Don’t Say...

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee has become a new front in the battle for the future of American democracy after Republicans expelled two Black lawmakers from the state Legislature for their part in a protest urging passage of gun-control measures. The removal of the lawmakers, who were only recently elected, reflects a trend in dozens of states where Republicans are trying to make it harder to cast ballots and challenging the integrity of the election process. At least 177 bills restricting voting or creating systems that can intimidate voters or permit partisan interference were filed or introduced in dozens of...

Three people have died across Israel and the West Bank in terrorist attacks as violence in the region continues. An Italian tourist, 30, was killed and five others were wounded in a Tel Aviv car ramming attack on Friday, Israeli and Italian officials said. It was the second deadly attack on Friday, after two British-Israeli sisters were killed when their car was shot up in the occupied West Bank. An Israeli security source identified the assailant in the Tel Aviv attack as an Israeli Arab from the town of Kafr Qassem. Police said an officer who was nearby arrived at...
