Texas is generally considered a red (though leaning more and more purple) state. Republicans have been able to keep control outside of the metro areas and even in most of the metros the gab between blue and red is smaller than most other big cities. The exception has been Austin which models itself more after San Francisco and Los Angeles than Dallas or Houston. The city was among those leading the charge during 2020’s big #DefundPolice movement and the results have been bad. They’re about to get worse. According to Fox News:

Explanation: On February 22, a young Moon shared the western sky at sunset with bright planets Venus and Jupiter along the ecliptic plane. The beautiful celestial conjunction was visible around planet Earth. But from some locations Jupiter hid for a while, occulted by the crescent lunar disk. The Solar System's ruling gas giant was captured here just before it disappeared behind the Moon's dark edge, seen over the Río de la Plata at Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay. In the serene river and skyscape Venus is not so shy, shining brightly closer to the horizon through the fading twilight. Next week...

An East Palestine, Ohio, man’s voice apparently became high-pitched since the train derailment and toxic explosion on February 3. His doctors told him he has chemicals in his body; however, no one in the area can perform the toxicological tests to determine what those chemicals are, 40-year-old Wade Lovett, an auto detailer, told the New York Post this week. “My voice sounds like Mickey Mouse. My normal voice is low. It’s hard to breathe, especially at night. My chest hurts so much at night I feel like I’m drowning. I cough up phlegm a lot. I lost my job because...

Today is the 122nd birthday of Herbert Manfred Marx (February 25, 1901 – November 30, 1979), commonly known as Zeppo. He was the youngest of the Marx Brothers, appeared on stage after older brother Gummo was drafted, and appeared on stage and in the first five Marx Brothers films.Zeppo was an essential part of the act. If you don't believe me, check out the letter scene from Animal Crackers. Only Zeppo could have pulled it off. It took a Marx Brotehr to do that to Groucho. Harpo didn't talk and if it had been Chico, it would hve descended into...

"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." "Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh." "Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing." "Matthew, Chapter 24 1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus...

VIDEO It is more than obvious that the reason why many Russian and Soviet flags were being waved at a recent anti-war protest in Washington, DC against sending more aid to Ukraine was in order to discredit that protest. Also obvious is the media-Deep State narrative parroted by Rachel Maddow noting those flags waved by undercover feds. The most laughably fake fed routine was when they furiously waved those flags behind the speakers at this event. Remember, you don't have to be a card-carrying member of the FBI to be an undercover fed. Just ask Ray Epps.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signaled he is somewhat open to working with China on its cease-fire plan for the war between Russia and Ukraine. “I believe that the fact that China started talking about Ukraine is not bad, but the question is what follows the words,” Zelensky said at a press conference on Friday, The Associated Press reported. China released a 12-point plan for trying to find a resolution in the conflict as the one-year anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine arrived. From the beginning, the United States provided $5 billion to fund the Ukrainian Revolution in 2014. The US-installed interim government launched the civil war against the Donbas on US instructions. Then in 2014, Obama signed a bill authorizing lethal aid to be provided to Kiev. Then in 2015, NATO Commander General Philip Breedlove favors military aid to Ukraine. The US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, John Kerry, and General Martin Dempsey of the Joint Chiefs agreed. New York has a truly asinine law on the books: It’s illegal to ship pepper spray here. But it’s not illegal to own it or use it in certain cases of self-defense. I’m calling on lawmakers, as well as Mayor Adams and Gov. Hochul: It’s time to give constituents easy access to basic self-defense. I know it first hand as a young woman living in Manhattan. Last May, I wrote about an encounter with a menacing man who chased and threatened me. I managed to scare him off by brandishing my sparkly pepper-spray keychain — which I had to purchase...

“The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad Way” honors a dishonorable man who cozied up with neo-Nazis and called Jews greedy. The New York City Council approved a plan Thursday to name a block in Harlem after National of Islam leader Elijah Muhammad. “Early on, Elijah Muhammad preached about greedy Jews and advanced the longstanding antisemitic trope that Jews turned Jesus Christ in to the authorities,” according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. “Muhammad invited American Nazi Party boss George Lincoln Rockwell to the NOI’s 1962 Saviours’ Day Convention,” where Rockwell dubbed Muhammad “the Adolf Hitler of the black man,” the center...

East Bay residents didn’t have to brave dangerous driving conditions to get to Tahoe to enjoy some snow this week. They didn't even have to go any further than Berkeley's Tilden Regional Park to go skiing Friday morning. After a mix of rain and snow overnight, snow was accumulating in earnest by 6:30 a.m. By midmorning, there was enough to (sort of) enjoy winter sports. Twitter user Jay Sayre posted multiple videos of him skiing in the Berkeley regional park, which reaches about 1,900 feet in elevation at its highest point. exp-player-logo Sayre even managed to catch some air near...
