Early in December, thousands of dollars were deposited into my bank account from the US Department of Education. And though it's tempting to spend this money, I'm not taking any risks until there's clarity on student loan forgiveness. Student loan borrowers have been on a wild ride this year. From wondering when federal loan payments were going to restart to nearly receiving $10,000 to $20,000 in federal loan forgiveness per borrower, we're all feeling whiplash from the back and forth. Back in September, shortly after the White House's student loan forgiveness announcement, I wrote an article about how I requested...

For those of you who have been watching tensions growing across the Taiwan Strait and becoming nervous about the possibility that we might wind up in a hot war with China, you might take some comfort in knowing that you’re not alone. In fact, a four-star Air Force general is alarmed enough over the situation that he sent out a memo to his troops on the subject. General Mike Minihan predicted that the United States will be at war with China by 2025 and urged his people to practice with their sidearms and “aim for the head.” But this memo...

Back in October, New York City Mayor Eric Adams made a joint announcement with Governor Kathy Hochul regarding a new public safety plan for the Big Apple. Dubbed the “Cops, Cameras and Care” program, they claimed that they would be adding more than one thousand additional police officers to the MTA force patrolling the subways. More surveillance cameras would be installed and they would begin moving most of the homeless out of the tunnels and into shelters. The state would provide a significant chunk of the money needed to make that happen. I’ll confess to having been a bit dubious...

As the crisis of illegal crossings continues unabated at the Southern Border, migrant encounters in the state of Vermont were also up a staggering 734 percent in the period of October-December 2022 compared to the same period the prior year. While the percentage rise is massive, the pace is still a trickle compared to what goes on at the Rio Grande. For instance, 441 crossers were caught trying to slip into Vermont from Canada in December 2022 , while a record 251,487 were nabbed trying to cross the US-Mexico border during the same period.Still, the dramatic rise is still concerning.Will...

President Joe Biden’s secretary of homeland security, Alejandro Mayorkas, reportedly smuggled over 100,000 illegal migrants into the U.S. through a hidden parole pathway. From May to December, Mayorkas has been welcoming at least 20,000 migrants into the country each month, according to the New York Times. The NYT was given an official briefing on the pathway, which was name CBP One after many reporters were unable to explain the migration pathway. The secret pathway delivers more than 240,000 illegal migrants into the U.S. per year under the disguise that they will be used as economically despite a 1986 ban on...

The Memphis Police Department has disbanded the so-called Scorpion special unit, whose officers are accused of murdering Tyre Nichols. Scorpion stands for "Street Crimes Operation to Restore Peace in Our Neighborhoods". The unit is a 50-person unit with the mission of bringing down crime levels in particular areas. But now it is being abolished after its officers were seen beating Mr Nichols, 29, in the videos from 7 January. Chief Davis said the Scorpion unit was created to be "more responsive" and "more proactive" to gun violence in the city. But she acknowledged that the officers who brutally beat Tyre...

Klain stated, “I’m very proud of what the President’s been able to get done here. A Harvard Medical School course teaches enrollees how to provide “affirming care” for patients involved in adulterous and sadomasochist sexual lifestyles. The continuing education course, “Advancing Excellence in Transgender Health: A Course for the Whole Healthcare Team,” is not yet scheduled for 2023, but the university wants to open the class up as a national learning opportunity for healthcare professionals. The class is offered by the Fenway Institute, an LGBT advocacy organization. One section of the 2022 course agenda contained the presentation “Alternative Sexualities in Healthcare: Providing Affirming Care for Patients Who Engage in Kink, BDSM, Fetish, Swinging, Ethical Non-Monogamy,...

Two of the smartest and most insightful commentators today, both of whom happen to be black, have spoken words of great wisdom about the outrageous behavior of the Memphis cops who beat to death Tyre Nichols. Both men cite culture, though one, former Detroit police chief James Craig, points to the culture of the Memphis P.D. and the local culture of the "Scorpion" unit — one that deals with the worst street crime. The other, Jason Whitlock, points to the broader black culture.Speaking to Tucker Carlson, Chief Craig (who kept the peace in Detroit while Minneapolis and other cities were...

WASHINGTON, DC, Jan 27 — Americans continue to relocate to Florida in record numbers. The sun and fun of the sunshine state has a lot to do with it but don’t discount the attraction of the state’s governor, Ron DeSantis. He’s just as popular across the country as he is in his own state. Governor DeSantis was the pick for the Association of Mature American Citizens’ 2022 Man of the Year for the majority of the voters of its 2.4 million members, according to AMAC’s CEO Rebecca Weber. “Once again they showed their preference for leaders who stand up for...

The old saying is that “he who pays the piper calls the tune.” That is, whoever is paying the largest share controls what’s being said, and nowhere is this more true than in academia. An anecdote in the new book by former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo makes this clear, for he describes MIT’s fealty to Chinese dollars, something that silenced a speech by the then Secretary of State. Chinese parents like sending their children to American colleges. By the peak year of 2019-2020, before COVID hit, 372,532 Chinese students were studying at U.S. colleges and universities. That number, obviously,...

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and his Republican colleagues refuse to negotiate an increase in the debt ceiling without a reduction in federal spending. They propose capping discretionary spending in 2024 back to 2022 levels. This would require a reduction in discretionary spending of $133 billion. There is broad support within the Republican caucus that the spending cuts should be in non-defense programs. President Biden and his Democratic colleagues say that raising the debt ceiling automatically without negotiations over federal spending is “not negotiable.” For Democrats, the idea that discretionary spending should be reduced significantly and that the spending cuts...

It looks like Steven Johnson, 29, from DeBary, Florida, has a bit of a voyeuristic hobby. According to Fox News, on Thursday night, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office caught him red-handed. He peeking into a woman’s window. The security video shows him snooping around when the deputies spotted him. Luckily the officers were doing extra patrols in the neighborhood at the time. The suspect tried to flee and lead them on a foot chase. But thanks to a trusty drone, they found him hiding in a nearby swampy area. Officials revealed that Johnson lives in the neighborhood. The man also...

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) must provide the state of Florida with documentation on why it supports gender transitions for minors and any communication with its members about that decision-making process, a District Court ruled. The AAP is involved in a lawsuit against Florida over a new rule established last year that prohibits the use of Medicaid funds on sex changes and other transgender-related care. The AAP signed on in support of the plaintiffs, leading Florida to subpoena it and numerous other organizations for information on their policies toward individuals with gender dysphoria and how those policies were developed,...

Church leaders have called on the Government to drop its highly controversial plans to ban ‘conversion therapy’. The authors of the Greater Love Declaration wrote to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Equalities Minister Kemi Badenoch to warn them that the legislation is “likely to criminalise innocent parents, teachers and church leaders”. The letter follows the Government announcing last week that it intends to press ahead with a ban on so-called conversion therapy for gay and transgender people. False narrativeThe declaration, which affirms Christian teaching on marriage, sex and identity, has been signed by almost 1,400 UK church leaders from different...

As the protest movement against the 'pension reform' plan of President Emmanuel Macron appears to be large and widespread there's been a circling of the ranks by Macron, his Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne and cabinet ministers. The government getting promotional support from mainstream media as they suggest protests and strikes will hurt holiday plans for the French next month. As was the case with the Yellow Vests just over four years ago the possibility of incidents involving black uniformed anarchists looms large. Political leaders like Marine Le Pen of the National Rally have repeatedly said the activities of such individuals...

The year 2021 was one of hope and promise for Australia, as the world began to recover from the devastating effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. And if it were not for a monumental cover-up by the Government of Australia, that hope would have been quickly shattered. Because secretive Goverment data confirms the first 38 weeks of the year saw a shocking 1,452% increase in excess deaths following the rollout of the Covid-19 injections compared to the same period in 2020. Unfortunately, as the months passed, the situation only worsened. By 2022, the nation was hit by a devastating blow, with...
