Nov. 9 (UPI) -- U.S. scientists have discovered a new tool that may help physicians diagnose Alzheimer's disease earlier -- and with a simple blood test -- once a person develops mild cognitive impairment and before significant neurological damage occurs. The study's findings were published Wednesday in the journal ACS Chemical Neuroscience. The progressive illness, which begins with mild memory loss, may lead to inability to carry on conversations and respond to elements in their environment. Authorities released the name of the teenage suspect believed to be involved in the atrocious slayings of two North Carolina teens in September, the New York Post reported. According to a report, the suspect released rap songs online that described the murders. Two ATV riders discovered the bodies of 14-year-old Lyric Woods and 18-year-old Devin Clark on the afternoon of September 18 beneath a power line easement. A recent survey of 1,000 hiring managers in the United States found that one in six, or about 16%, have been told to stop hiring white men. Additionally, 14% of hiring managers said they have also been told to deprioritize hiring white women. MOSCOW — Jailed American basketball star Brittney Griner has been moved from a detention center outside of Moscow and is being sent to a Russian penal colony to begin serving out her nine-year sentence on drug smuggling charges, her lawyers said Wednesday. A statement released by Griner’s legal team says they do not have information on Griner’s “exact current location or her final destination.” The statement also said that in accordance with “standard Russian procedure,” they anticipate Russian authorities will notify Griner’s legal team and the U.S. embassy of Griner’s whereabouts upon arrival at her destination.
