...Mr. Mueller resolutely set about to change the “culture” of the FBI. That’s the word he used. He was going to make the bureau into an intelligence agency, or in his repeated terminology, an “intelligence driven” organization. Unintended consequences followed. The organization I had served for 33 years would undergo a cultural change in subsequent years, culminating in the ugly disaster of Crossfire Hurricane, the fruitless but disruptive investigation of the Trump campaign and Russia. Mr. Mueller had worked with FBI special agents in Boston and San Francisco, but he didn’t know the FBI’s culture or how it functioned. He...

Vladimir Zhirinovsky, a firebrand Russian nationalist who often said publicly what the Kremlin thought privately, issued a forecast during his speech at the Russian parliament’s closing session in December. A war with Ukraine, he predicted, will start before dawn on Feb. 22. As a result, “Russia will become a great nation again,” he thundered. “Everyone will have to shut their mouths and respect us.” Mr. Zhirinovsky, who died in April from Covid, was off by just two days on the date of the invasion that triggered Europe’s bloodiest conflict since World War II. But, instead of showcasing Moscow’s newfound might,...

And it could shed light on our distant evolution. Says the co-author of a study on the fossilized organ: "We are all related, in the most literal sense." Professor Kate Trinajstic inspects a fossil of an ancient fish at the Western Australian Museum. Curtin University A 380 million-year-old fish heart found embedded in a chunk of Australian sediment has scientists' pulses racing. Not only is this organ in remarkable condition, but it could also yield clues about the evolution of jawed vertebrates, which include you and me. The heart belonged to an extinct class of armored, jawed fish called arthrodires...

SAMARKAND, Uzbekistan (Reuters) -President Vladimir Putin on Friday denied Russia had anything to do with Europe’s energy crisis, saying that if the European Union wanted more gas it should lift sanctions preventing the opening of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.Speaking to reporters after the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Uzbekistan, Putin blamed what he called “the green agenda” for the energy crisis, and insisted that Russia would fulfil its energy obligations.“The bottom line is, if you have an urge, if it’s so hard for you, just lift the sanctions on Nord Stream 2, which is 55 billion cubic metres of...

This wasn’t supposed to happen. For months, I have been writing article after article about the rapidly growing global food crisis, but even though drought is devastating so many other crops all over the planet I thought that there would be plenty of rice in 2023. Unfortunately, I was wrong. As you will see below, some of the biggest rice producers in the entire world are being hit really hard, and rice production is going to be way below expectations this year. Of course rice is one of the primary staples that poor nations depend upon, and so this is...

by Becca London | 24NewsAfter failing to secure Republican support to alter Delaware's Constitution to enshrine mail-in voting rights, Democrat lawmakers in the state passed a bill on June 22 enabling registered voters to request a mail-in ballot before the election without an excuse. It was signed into law by Democrat Gov. John Carney on July 22.On Wednesday, Vice Chancellor Nathan Cook of the Delaware Court of Chancery ruled SB 320 unconstitutional. Although in the November general election, those who cannot make it to the polls can still request an absentee ballot and same-day registration is still allowed, mail-in voting...

After declaring a “humanitarian crisis,” the outcry from Martha’s Vineyard over just 50 illegal alien arrivals has prompted Gov. Charlie Baker (R) to deport the group from the elite island off the coast of Massachusetts to a nearby military base. [cut] Democrat officials on Martha’s Vineyard immediately declared a “humanitarian crisis” even as the 50 illegal alien arrivals are a drop in the ocean compared to the nearly 6,000 border crossers and illegal aliens that American border towns are subjected to every day. In response, Baker bused the illegal aliens off Martha’s Vineyard to Joint Base Cape Cod following Democrats’...

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency Washington Division is raising awareness about nitazenes, a dangerous class of drugs they are seeing emerge in the region. Nitazines are being sourced from China and being mixed into other drugs, the DEA says. Isotonitazene, also known as nitazene or "ISO,” is a synthetic opioid first identified around 2019. Photo courtesy of U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency Nitazenes: You've probably never heard of these highly toxic drugs, and neither have many Americans who abuse opioid street drugs. That lack of awareness could prove deadly, experts warn, because nitazenes are increasingly being added into heroin and street...

Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo has had it with President Joe Biden’s administration for spending trillions like it’s going out of style while the nation reels from an inflation crisis. Bartiromo smacked the Biden White House for its inflation-instigating policies during the Sept. 15 edition of Fox News’s America’s Newsroom. “Remember, the polls that you showed at the top of this show, show Americans think this administration is incompetent,” she said. “It’s not just incompetence, it’s also tone deaf, because it keeps coming out with more spending.” The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB) estimated Sept. 13 that the...

The United States of America is one of the more recent additions to what is loosely called "Western civilization," and yet our nation has manifested some of the West's greatest contributions to human society. As such, the cultural, political and social battles taking place here are compelling evidence of the current war against the values of Western civilization more broadly. Those who would dismantle it have many forms of attack: They dismiss the contributions Western civilization has made to the overall health and prosperity of mankind and focus only on its shortcomings; they disparage the thinkers and political figures whose...

After the fighting between Israel and Hamas in 2012, Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki announced that he wanted to visit Gaza.“I congratulate Ismail Haniyeh (the Hamas prime minister) on the victory in Gaza,” he said.Marzouki had previously met with delegations from Hamas and Islamic Jihad. His support for the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group was so blatant that even the PLO had warned him not to come to Gaza. After leaving office, Marzouki boarded the Hamas flotilla invading Israel. When the flotilla was intercepted, Israel deported him. These days, Tunisia doesn’t want him either. But Massachusetts does.More recently an arrest warrant was issued...

This article first appeared on The Stream. A recent video of Muslims and Danes quarreling in Denmark is revealing in more ways than one—especially for those who are considering the merits of the Great Replacement theory. In the video, one Muslim man can be heard yelling the following words to a Dane:We have five children, you only have one or two. In ten to fifteen years there will be more Pakistanis than Danes in this country!… The Danes are five million, soon you’ll be exterminated [or extinct?]. Look at the Swedes, look at the Norwegians, look at the Finns, man!...
