Aging occurs in all sensory organs, and cellular senescence plays an important role in this process. Premature senescence of auditory cells can be induced by oxidative stress and can result in hearing loss. Mitochondrial dysfunction is one of the hallmarks of aging and is associated with the development of age-related neurodegenerative diseases. Mitochondria generate ATP in cells and are important for energy supply. They are also critical for neurotransmission in the auditory system. Autophagy is a homeostatic process by which damaged or dysfunctional cellular components are removed. Mitochondrial selective autophagy, termed mitophagy, specifically degrades dysfunctional or damaged mitochondria and maintains...

The scientists believe that their discovery allows for many interesting new medical possibilities. A recently found lipid inhibits cell death. An organism uses programmed cell death as a critical tool to maintain its health. Various stress responses are triggered when a cell does not operate as it should. These responses aim to bring back the original cell function. One example is the process known as autophagy, in which a cell partly digests itself in order to acquire energy that it can utilize for its own repair. Should these efforts fail, the cell dies. This enables the body to combat conditions...

But have you asked anyone outside of experts, advisors and your staff what it feels like to the American people? People are feeling pain and a building fear, even...

Can We Accurately Diagnose the Bergoglio Disorder Afflicting the Church? For the sake of argument, think about how the Catholic world would react if we soon had a saintly pope who restored the Church’s liturgical practices to their pre-Vatican II state, solemnly denounced all of the heresies that have proliferated since Vatican II, excommunicated the various false shepherds, and embarked upon a holy path of promoting the rights of Christ the King. Almost certainly we would find that all of the nominal Catholics who hang on Bergoglio’s every word would no longer think much of the papacy. And all of us...
