Concerns are being raised over what the drought might be doing to an ancient salmon run that goes through the heart of Silicon Valley. Roger Castillo doesn’t look after the rivers and streams and their wildlife in Silicon Valley because it’s his job. He does it because he loves it. A Minnesota man connected to a scheme to launder millions in federal child nutrition funds has been charged after he was caught attempting to leave the country with a fraudulently obtained passport. Court documents show Mohamed Jama Ismail, 49, of Isanti, is charged with one count of passport fraud. He has not been charged in connection with the investigation into Feeding Our Future. According to the criminal complaint, Ismail allegedly ran multiple companies in a scheme that collectively misappropriated more than $30 million of Federal Child Nutrition Program funds distributed through the Minnesota Department of Education. One of those companies,...

It was obvious when the J6 committee began using their unilateral subpoena authority to demand phone records, text messages, documents and emails, that part of their plan was to leak/release internal GOP discussions amid politicians that would anger the MAGA voters ahead of the 2022 midterm elections. Part of the J6 goal is to create division and sow animosity amid the republican party. DUH. However, what the J6 committee doesn’t seem to realize is that MAGA voters already know the scheming, conniving, duplicitous rats within the republican political ranks. Heck, we already hate most of them, so outing Kevin McCarthy...

A species of giant two-humped camel, Camelus knoblochi, is known to have lived for approximately a quarter of a million years in Central Asia. A new study in Frontiers in Earth Science shows that C. knoblochi's last refuge was in Mongolia until approximately 27,000 years ago. In Mongolia, the last of the species coexisted with anatomically modern humans and maybe the extinct Neanderthals or Denisovans. While the main cause of C. knoblochi's extinction seems to have been climate change, hunting by archaic humans may also have played a role. "Here we show that the extinct camel, Camelus knoblochi, persisted in...

Two teams of researchers working independently have shown the viability of using neutral atoms to create quantum circuits—both have published outlines of their work in the journal Nature. One of the groups, with members from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, ColdQuanta and Riverlane, successfully ran an algorithm on a cold atom quantum computer for the first time. The second group, with members from Harvard, MIT, QuEra Computing Inc., the University of Innsbruck and the Austrian Academy of Sciences, showed that it was possible to build a quantum processor based on coherent transport of entangled atom arrays. Hannah Williams, with Durham...

Addressing the Portuguese parliament via video link, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday called on Portugal to send "heavy weapons" and strengthen the sanctions on Russia. On July 2, 1863, Confederate forces approaching Gettysburg found the high ground already occupied. A Union Signal Corps was stationed atop the large, smooth hill known as Little Round Top, where they could observe troop movements and communicate that intelligence to battlefield commanders below. Since this gave the Federals a distinct advantage, the Confederates resolved to take the lightly guarded hill. Signal Corps officers, seeing the soldiers in gray amass for an all-out assault, sent up a cry for help. It was answered by Maj. General George Sykes and Colonel Strong Vincent, whose combined divisions were able to beat back...

With barely more than one month remaining before the Biden administration plans to lift Title 42, a bipartisan group from the House and Senate endorsed legislation to keep Title 42 in place until the Biden administration ends its COVID-19 public health emergency declarations and puts together a plan to handle the massive influx of illegal immigrants terminating Title 42 would create. The legislation endorsed by the Problem Solvers Caucus — a group of 58 Republican and Democrat lawmakers —that has a companion bill with bipartisan support in the Senate, is aimed at enacting congressional oversight for "terminating the suspension of...

SB 4C isn't just about political punishment. It's about Floridian autonomy and stopping a wicked giant. Finally, someone is willing to take on the Mouse. Disney long has loomed large in Florida and dictated what happens in the Sunshine State. In response to the culture war predations by Disney, Floridian Republicans have finally said 'enough is enough' and successfully pushed through legislation to end Disney’s 55-year-old self-governing powers, in which it rules its humongous Florida properties like an all-powerful baron. While critics have rightly pointed out that the legislation amounts to political punishment, there are freedom reasons to support this...

FDA on Thursday announced the availability of a draft guidance that, if finalized, would state the agency’s “intent to exercise enforcement discretion” regarding the distribution and sale of products labeled as dietary supplements and containing NAC (N-acetyl-L-cysteine). The draft guidance, which is scheduled to be published April 22 in the Federal Register, was released three weeks after FDA reaffirmed its position in responses to two citizen petitions that NAC is excluded from the definition of a dietary supplement because the ingredient was first approved as a drug in 1963. FDA, however, is still considering commencing a rulemaking to permit the...

In the Fall of 2021, jobs, education opportunities and entire careers were on the line, as governments, corporations, colleges, hospitals and other institutions implemented multiple vaccine mandates. These punitive, discriminatory vaccine mandates were rolled out illegally, in violation of personal beliefs and body autonomy rights. By the time these “life-saving” vaccines were forcefully rolled out, they had a REVERSE effect on mortality. From September to December 2021, the vaccine mandates rapidly increased EXCESS mortality rates for Gen X (ages 40-55), Gen Z, and Millennials (ages 25 to 40). According to mortality data from the fall of 2021, the Millennial generation...

For more than a century, America’s intellectual class and political elites have joined forces to defend a specific kind of expertise or technical rationality as the basis of their authority over the direction of society and the lives of American citizens. This expert authority lays claim to specialized scientific knowledge, and confidence in a fixed, irreversible historical progress. Continuous human progress is assumed by these elites to be determined by a rational process, and this process culminates in and authorizes the rule of technical experts. This view is radically different from the American founders’ commonsense understanding of moral and political...

Colonel Douglas Macgregor appeared on Tucker Carlson to give a brutally honest assessment of the conflict in Ukraine. Regarding the transfer of heavy weapons and artillery, Macgregor notes something many have discussed. The logistics of sending in those weapons from western Ukraine (Poland border) to the eastern Ukraine battle encompasses a thousand-mile trek. Russia can easily hit those convoys en route, negating the supply line. Additionally, the U.S. has sent $4.7 billion in military equipment and financial aid so far (see graphic below), and we have no idea who is in control of those weapons. WATCH: To give scale for...

I wholeheartedly believe that the ballooning national debt – which recently crossed the $30 trillion threshold – is an existential crisis for our Republic. For years, politicians have shaken their fists about deficits and debt, only to do nothing when it came to actually implementing solutions and making tough decisions. Alabamians are wise to this all talk, no action mentality, which is why we need a proven, effective leader who is ready to hit the ground running on day one to tackle this generational challenge. At president and CEO of Alabama’s business council, I cut waste, rightsized the organization, and...

Nineteen organizations demanded Congress investigate the Orwellian partnership between leftist website ratings firm NewsGuard and the anti-parent American Federation of Teachers. A coalition of education and tech policy groups, led by Fight for Schools, warned in their letter to Congress: “Given the rise of political intolerance within academic institutions and censorship from the tech industry, we are alarmed by this partnership and its implications for core American values in our schools.” The letter stipulated that “we are calling on Congress to investigate this partnership, including its origins, its intentions, its applications, and the broader issue of biased and conflicted so-called...

As "Earth Day" is upon us, let us look at the demonic and leftist philosophy which is driving this "Baalistic" ideology. What seems to have a stranglehold on America and the world at present is the godless totalitarian socialistic environmental movement of today. This movement has halted progress and has laid shackles on the capitalistic freedoms at present here in America and in the world. As the environmentalist display their "Green Righteousness" and seek to practice at the same time a relative and godless philosophy when it comes to the Moral Laws of Nature and the ETERNAL ABSOLUTES of FOREVER,...

Editor's note: This piece was authored by Jeff Luse.Earth Day, which was officially recognized in 1970, has enjoyed bipartisan support and received praise from presidents of both political parties. Historically presidential speeches have included complimentary language on America’s progress and economic ingenuity. In his 1993 Earth Day speech, for instance, President Clinton said, “First, we think you can’t have a healthy economy without a healthy environment…The fact is that only a prosperous society can have the confidence and the means to protect its environment.” While this type of rhetoric is still expressed by some of our nation’s leaders, the broader...
