Rents reach ‘insane’ levels across US with no end in sight Krystal Guerra’s Miami apartment has a tiny kitchen, cracked tiles, warped cabinets, no dishwasher and hardly any storage space. But Guerra was fine with the apartment’s shortcomings. It was all part of being a 32-year-old graduate student in South Florida, she reasoned, and she was happy to live there for a few more years as she finished her marketing degree. That was until a new owner bought the property and told her he was raising the rent from $1,550 to $1,950, a 26% increase that Guerra said meant her...

Michael Bloomberg writes in a new op-ed that he is "deeply concerned" the Democratic Party is "headed for a wipeout in November, up and down the ballot." The former New York City mayor and Democratic presidential candidate points to the recent recall of three school board members in San Francisco while making his argument in Bloomberg News. "Coming from America's most liberal city, those results should translate into a 7 to 8 on the Richter scale, because the three main factors that drove the recall are not unique to the Bay Area," Bloomberg writes. Bloomberg notes that a "recent Democratic...

The Bible In Paintings 2 ENCOURAGEMENT FOR APPRECIATING AND APPLYING GOD'S MESSAGEE X O D U SCHAPTERS 1 & 2 Now the Israelites were fruitful and multiplied greatly and became exceedingly numerous. Then a new king said to his people, “The Israelites have become much too numerous for us.” So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor and worked them ruthlessly. Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: “Every boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live.” Now a man of the house of Levi...

In the preface to the recently published bestselling hardcover edition of The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story Project creator Nikole Hannah-Jones uses an incident from 2015 to demonstrate what she claims is a need for The 1619 Project. The incident involved Roni Dean-Burren who was alerted by her teenage son to a caption in his geography textbook that read, “The Atlantic Slave Trade between the 1500s and 1800s brought millions of workers from Africa to the Southern United States to work on agricultural plantations.” The number of Africans brought not only to the Southern United States but to all...

BERLIN, Feb 22 (Reuters) - Germany on Tuesday halted the Nord Stream 2 Baltic Sea gas pipeline project, designed to double the flow of Russian gas direct to Germany, after Russia formally recognised two breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine. Europe's most divisive energy project, worth $11 billion, was finished in September, but has stood idle pending certification by Germany and the European Union. The pipeline had been set to ease the pressure on European consumers facing record energy prices amid a wider post-pandemic cost of living crisis, and on governments that have already forked out billions to try to cushion...

IN CAMP NEAR FORT DONELSON, SATURDAY, Feb. 15, 1862. It was determined by Gen. GRANT to make the attack upon Fort Donelson from two directions -- by land from the direction of Fort Henry, and by water up the Cumberland, assisted by an adequate column of troops on the banks, Tuesday night, the Fifty-seventh Illinois, Col. BALDWIN, arrived at Fort Henry, on the steamer Minnehaha. Gen. GRANT directed Col. BALDWIN to return immediately down the river, stop all transports with troops, proceed down the Tennessee and up the Cumberland, keeping in the rear of gunboats, which would be found ready...

Shame on Fox!” Lindell said during a Lindell Report broadcast. “They’ve done more damage to this country than all the bad media combined because we expected them to speak out! Just at least talk about the, at least be a journalist! Like being a Weather Channel… and you can’t report tornadoes or hurricanes Lindell also blasted the network for pushing vaccines. “Fox is in on it!” Lindell shouted. “They are criminals to our country! Period! Yes, I hope the Murdochs are watching!” The CEO has been an outspoken critic of vaccines and has faced tremendous censorship for questioning the integrity...

Ohio Republican Senate candidate Jane Timken on Tuesday received three Senate endorsements that followed retiring Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) picking her as his desired successor last week. Sens. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) all backed Timken, citing what they said were her conservative credentials in a statement first seen by The Hill. “As a fellow Midwesterner, Jane understands the challenges our farmers and small businesses face, and I look forward to working alongside another powerful mom and female in the U.S. Senate," Ernst said.

Kyle Rittenhouse hinted that he may take action against the many leftwing politicians and operatives who smeared him as a murderer. Trudeau Style Tyranny Is Already Here As freedom-lovers justifiably recoil at Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s crackdown, Americans worry it could happen here. They’re too late. It already has.In a recent court motion, Joe Biden’s Justice Department changed the official name of its investigation into the protest at the Capitol on January 6, 2021. Originally designated the “Capitol breach” probe, the department just replaced “breach” with a more sinister word: siege.“The ‘Capitol Siege’ refers to the events of January 6, 2021, when thousands of individuals entered the U.S. Capitol and U.S. Capitol grounds without authority, halting the Joint Session and...

"Christianity is not reconciliation with death. It is the revelation of death, and it reveals death because it is the revelation of Life. Christ is this Life. And only if Christ is Life is death what Christianity proclaims it to be, namely the enemy to be destroyed, and not a “mystery” to be explained. Religion and secularism, by explaining death, give it a “status,” a rationale, make it “normal.” Only Christianity proclaims it to be abnormal and, therefore, truly horrible. At the grave of Lazarus Christ wept, and when His own hour to die approached, “he began to be sore...

Seeing the magnitude of corruption Democrats at the highest levels of government have demonstrated over the past year, many Americans have thought, "God help us." Perhaps He is. A lot of Americans have been praying God will purge our nation of the duplicity and fraud selected Democrats so blithely perform. The process may be starting. What could be one of the most egregious examples of corruption at the highest levels is being exposed by an investigation conducted by Special Counsel John Durham. To date, the investigation alleges Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign paid to have computers at the White House...

Not so long ago, Democrats seemed the party of the future. "Inevitable!" predicted some pundits, for demography is destiny. Moreover, in 2020, Democrats, who had won the popular vote six times in seven presidential elections, swept the popular vote again, by 6 million ballots. And they captured both houses of Congress. The future did seem to be theirs. Progressives dominated the major culture-forming institutions of society -- academia, the media, Hollywood -- not to mention the vast bureaucracy of America's national administrative state. Their core constituencies -- women, the young, Blacks, Hispanics -- were growing as a share of the...

Canadian Liberal MP Ya'ara Saks said that "Honk Honk" is code for "Heil Hitler" while testifying in parliament on Monday in defense of Trudeau invoking the Emergencies Act to crack down on Canadian freedom protesters. ---snip--- "Let's start with a classic and a new variant: 88 and "HH" phrases like "honk honk." They mean "heil hitler." H is the 8th letter of the alphabet, thus 88. "Honk honk" is associated with the honkler and is often used "ironically" by alt-right trolls."

For the last couple of decades, the “Nobel Prize” for anything was almost always awarded to someone from the left or the far-left. Like the former highly distinguished “Pulitzer Prize,” it had devolved into an ideological trophy given to entrenched liberal elites from entrenched liberal elites. But then came 2009 when the Nobel Committee completely jumped the shark and made the once venerable award a laughing stock to many around the world. That was the year they awarded the Nobel Peace Prize to newly elected President Barack 0bama for literally doing nothing. In trying to justify their clearly embarrassing decision, the committee...
