The pandemic isn’t over. But America sure seems over it. Posted on May 29, 2020 by where's_the_Outrage? Presages where we are today. The bad news was posted May 30, 2021 by yours truly: here When we are thoroughly sick and tired of the muzzle theater and have, as a people, pretty much resolved we won't be tricked again, that is the time for China to unleash a very deadly virus that has initially mild symptoms after a long infectious period, followed by the deadly phase. The powers that be have cried wolf to an imaginary wolf loudly enough and long...

On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Chicago Alderman Raymond Lopez (D) said that “we still talk more about COVID than we do gun violence” even though more children have been the victims of gun violence in the city than have died from coronavirus in Illinois. Lopez said, “We’ve seen more children impacted by gun violence than by COVID, and now, she’s [Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D)] doing the great pivot, the great about-face, and saying now that President Joe Biden is here, she’ll take the help. What about all those thousands of people whose lives have...

The conviction of former Minnesota police officer Kim Potter in the death of Daunte Wright was a "double injustice with dangerous implications for policing in America," especially considering the judge in the case denied her release on bail, Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz says in an opinion piece Friday. "Officer Potter, a decorated policewoman with more than two decades of service, simply did not commit a crime," Dershowitz writes in his column, published in The Hill. "Under American law, honest mistakes are not crimes — even if they result in tragic deaths." Potter, a former suburban Minneapolis police officer,...

As some sports leagues embarrass themselves with actions antithetical to American values, the National Hockey League followed the right path earlier this week.Professional hockey, which planned to pause their season for three weeks in early 2022 to accommodate players traveling to Communist China, made a bold decision by announcing this week the league will not compete in the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics. Some hockey fans may be disappointed, but they’re likely sentient enough to know it’s the right move. The “Genocide and State-Sanctioned Kidnapping Games,” as they should be called, should of course have no American presence.A noxious country that spits on...

Two Democrat lawmakers were recently carjacked within 16 hours of each other.Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon (Pa.) was robbed and carjacked in broad daylight at FDR Park in South Philadelphia on Wednesday. Cynthia Boyd witnessed the...

Even the far-left Daily Beast is now admitting that you can’t trust Joe Biden. Joe Biden is losing Democrats. Joe Biden had a credibility problem his whole life. He was known for telling tall tales and sniffing kids. His family has multiple financial ties with China. His son is a drug addict who left evidence of taking drugs, hanging out with hookers, and cutting deals with China and other countries. This was all recorded on his laptop. Anyone who trusted Joe Biden a year ago was a fool. Now even some of those fools are waking up. The Daily Beast...

On Oct. 30, 2020, just days before the presidential election, Joe Biden tweeted, “I’m not going to shut down the country. I’m not going to shut down the economy. I’m going to shut down the virus.” This was a lie. It was a lie because nobody can shut down the virus. Government does not have the power to end disease, as a general matter. When it comes to a wildly transmissible coronavirus specifically, no government can end the virus. Even the sainted Dr. Anthony Fauci has admitted as much: “We’re never going to eradicate this … elimination may be too...

Two thousand flights have been canceled Christmas Eve in relation to the omicron variant, according to flight-tracking site FlightAware. As President Biden promised to “shut down the virus” during the 2020 presidential campaign, nearly a year later omicron is impacting airlines’ ability to transport Christmas travelers in a timely fashion. FlightAware shows about 1,175 flights have already been canceled for Saturday, Christmas Day. United Airlines told the Wall Street Journal that flight crews and operational employees are in short supply due to omicron exposure. “The nationwide spike in Omicron cases this week has had a direct impact on our flight...

Compare the takes on omicron from two different financial news sources.First, CNBC's Morning Squawk daily email, December 23, 2021:'Hospitals across the nation are preparing for another wave of Covid that could rival the early days of the pandemic as the highly mutated and contagious omicron variant rages. In fact, the director of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation told USA Today that new modeling shows the U.S. could see about 140 million new cases from January to March.Peak new daily infections are projected to reach about 2.8 million late next month, according to the IHME, with less than 15%...

Just three months ago, I wrote that the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America had appointed its first transgender bishop — in this case, Megan Rohrer, a woman who sliced off her breasts, kept her female name, and claimed to be a man. Now Rohrer has been suspended for being racist. Live by woke political correctness; die by woke political correctness. It was a big deal when Megan Rohrer, a woman who claims to be a man and insists on being referred to by the pronouns "they" and "them," was installed as bishop of the Sierra Pacific Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran...

Media outlets are scrambling to reassure people who received the COVID-19 shot that there is no shame in testing positive for the virus after corporate media overlords guilted red states, Republicans, and the COVID-positive unvaccinated for months. The Washington Post published an article on Thursday urging “self-compassion” for the vaccinated who are caught off guard by contracting COVID-19. Using anecdotes from people who “diligently” and “desperately” went the extra mile to keep away from the virus, the article laments how individuals who got the jab numerous times, masked up, and even stayed home feel like a failure because they fell...

A parent told President Joe Biden 'Let's Go Brandon!' during the NORAD Santa Tracker event with First Lady Jill Biden at the White House complex on Friday. The first couple hosted kids and their parents in the South Court Auditorium and talked to people virtually. A dad named Jared beaming in from Oregon said 'Merry Christmas' and 'Let's Go Brandon' - code on the right for 'f**k Joe Biden' - after his kids told the president what they wanted from Santa Claus. Reporters in the room said that Biden seemed unphased. 'Go Brandon, I agree,' the president said in response.

Omicron is here, and with it comes death and destruction — unless, that is, you cancel Christmas, hide in your homes, get all the boosters, double mask, and demand to see negative Covid tests and proof of vaccination for anyone who darkens your doorstep. Any precautions, no matter how seemingly outlandish, are seen as justifiable to protect yourself from this new and terrifying variant. So it is, anyway, with a disturbingly large number of reporters and commentators in the corporate press, whose coverage and individual responses to Covid have become increasingly divorced from that of the rest of America. To...

Politics is a bad religion. People may argue about the purpose of religion. For some it is a moral code—a set of principles that provides guideposts to living a virtuous life and that helps man to win the fight against his own human nature. For others, it creates a sense of purpose or belonging to a community. Of course, wherever there is a religion that people follow and a related deity to worship, there are sure to be bad actors that try to exploit others’ faith. Any religion has to balance that potential for downside against its upside. Now, I...

Its banishment from the public sphere heightened its intensity at home. Supply-chain problems and looming shortages have some Americans in a panic. But the specter of a more austere holiday season put me in mind of the three Christmases I spent in communist Poland. They were the most meaningful of my life. to a young American the place was depressing, with poorly stocked shops, lusterless merchandise and unsmiling crowds. By December the sun—which we rarely saw—was setting in midafternoon. The light had the murkiness of an old aquarium. After the meal we headed out to the cathedral for midnight Mass....

President Joe Biden was asked about the chances that he will run for re-election in 2024 and managed to give himself a noteworthy bit of wiggle room by mentioning his own health which, of course, might be a factor that you might imagine would have some bearing on whether or not he will seek a second term. ABC News’ “World News Tonight” anchor David Muir asked the president on Wednesday night if he plans to run for re-election, to which Biden replied, “Yes.” However, he added that he is nonetheless “a great respecter of fate” and this would depend on...
