If Love means never having to say you're sorry (it doesn't), then being a member of the media means never having to admit you were wrong (it does). I wouldn't write about the Jussie Smollett case and his conviction for lying about a hoax he perpetrated if it didn't reflect something seriously wrong in the culture. Smollett was convicted in Chicago last week of faking an attack by a supposed Trump-MAGA man he claimed uttered racist and homophobic slurs. Normally, I would ignore this story, along with other tabloid trash stories I don't care about, such as the Kardashians, Harry...

I'm not posting them and dont think anyone should but does anyone else find it disgraceful their using/leaking private text messages to smear Trump? This is surely a new low? The media are going to town on it and trying to smear Trump and frame it as some kind of new scandal. Never mind holding the Biden administration accountable for their lamentable record the main news is seemingly Donald Trump who isn't even in office! Frustrating!

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) in a letter on Tuesday is calling for an update on a review of policies regarding guns on Capitol grounds. "The presence of deadly firearms only raises the dangers of a violent incident, an accidental discharge, or some other preventable tragedy," Hoyer writes in the letter. "That is why it is essential that rules and regulations regarding where personal firearms may or may not be carried must be communicated clearly to Members." The letter was written to Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Karen Gibson, House Sergeant-at-Arms William Walker, Capitol Architect Brett Blanton and Capitol Police Chief Thomas...

SEATTLE - The Salvation Army is facing a shortage of toys and donations ahead of the holiday season, and urge communities to find a way to help. The nonprofit reports it gets 75% of total annual donations during November and December, and they are once again in need of support. That help can come in the form of an online donation at the virtual Northwest Red Kettle."There are many reasons why both financial and toy donations are down this year, not the least of which is likely pandemic fatigue and concerns about employment and the future," said Colonel Cindy Foley of...

President Joe Biden is scheduled to host a Holiday party on Tuesday at the White House, as the coronavirus pandemic continues. The party will be for the Democratic National Committee as Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are expected to attend and deliver remarks even as victims of the Waukesha Christmas Parade massacre wait for a visit from either.

Our collective experience over the last two years fighting the novel coronavirus has demonstrated the importance of access to healthcare facilities. Society was disrupted in unprecedented ways to ensure an adequate supply of hospital beds would remain available for those who needed care. Months of lockdowns, spurred by “15 days to flatten the curve,” were carried out with the explicit intent of keeping COVID-19 cases at a level that would allow for adequate space in intensive care units and to ensure patients suffering from severe cases of the virus had a place to be treated. But lurking in the background...

It wasn’t a good day for the National Football League’s draconian Covid-19 policies. They should be the shining example of how to handle the coronavirus with over 94% of their players and nearly 100% of their coaches and staff “fully vaccinated.” But being the shining example would require the vaccines to actually work at stopping Covid-19, which they do not. As a result, the league has become the perfect example of the opposite conclusion: Medical tyranny within private industry is a path to failure. On Monday, the league recorded their highest number of Covid-19 positive tests ever with 37. Of...

Gina Raimondo has major financial stake in AI firm funded by Chinese venture capital firm A venture capital firm backed by the Chinese government is a major investor in an artificial intelligence company that counts Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo's husband as a top executive, a potential conflict of interest as her agency works to counter China on the world stage. Danhua Capital, based in California but established with the financial backing of the Chinese Communist Party, is one of the main funders of PathAI, an artificial intelligence firm that employs Raimondo's husband, Andy Moffit, as its chief people officer. Danhua...

Speaking to the House of Commons in 1948, Winston Churchill, paraphrasing philosopher George Santayana, made a critical point: "Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it." In his book, "While England Slept," Churchill makes the case World War II could have been avoided had England's weak and feckless prime minister, Neville Chamberlain, not tried to appease Germany's power-hungry despot, Adolf Hitler. We now have President Joe Biden taking Chamberlain's approach with three contemporary tyrants: Russia's Vladimir Putin, Communist China's Xi Jinping and Iran's "supreme leader," Ali Khamenei. As Chamberlain learned, appeasing tyrants never works. It's like...

The FDA is working with the post office to hold packages containing ivermectin. The FDA could better use its resources to, I don’t know, publicly release the docs submitted by Pfizer to license its mandated liability-free V earlier than 75 years from now! https://t.co/i6eLcqnciX pic.twitter.com/O2d1zgTjAB — Aaron Siri (@AaronSiriSG) December 13, 2021

The company said the results have been shared with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a part of the company's request for emergency use authorization. Pfizer requested...

The IDF's spokesman in Arabic, Avichai Edrai, reveals: In a joint operation by the IDF and the GSS, Hamas' terrorist infrastructure at al-Najah University was exposed and thwarted. As part of the exposure of the infrastructure, 11 activists belonging to the Hamas student wing were arrested for participating in Hamas sabotage operations in Judea and Samaria: in transferring funds, organizing rallies in support of Hamas and inciting campaigns under the supervision and guidance of senior members of the organization. Edrei explained that the Islamic Bloc is in fact a body that unites student networks affiliated with Hamas in academic institutions...

A video posted to Facebook appears to show four teenage boys throwing things at an elderly woman and her dog. The incident occurred last Thursday near Goodpasture Loop in Eugene. We spoke this week to the man who made the videos. It’s still unknown what led up to the altercation captured on Ben Johnson of Eugene's dash cam. "I was on my way home from work and I pulled up to the intersection and I saw what looked like a bunch of kids just roughhousing," he said.

When did the political systems of 193 nations become the business of the government of the United States? And who elected us Americans to write the moral code for the regimes that rule other lands? Consider: On taking office, resident Joe Biden pledged to center his foreign policy "on the defense of democracy and the protection of human rights." At his Summit for Democracy, he said it was America's intent to undertake the bolstering of democracy and human rights worldwide. Yet no nation bristles more than we Americans do when we discover foreign regimes meddling in our politics or presidential...

The Zhurong rover was designed only to communicate with its companion orbiter, Tianwen 1; however, the rover has long outlived its planned mission and the orbiter is no longer able to do as much data relaying. So China and Europe decided to try an experiment: Send data from Zhurong to Mars Express to Earth. That's challenging, since the robots' communications equipment doesn't match. Zhurong can transmit at a frequency Mars Express can detect, but not vice versa, so Zhurong sends data without hearing back from the orbiter. On Nov. 20, Mars Express passed 2,500 miles (4,000 kilometers) above Zhurong's location...

Far left CNN detailed the signs of looming defeat for Democrats in the 2022 midterms in an analysis piece on Sunday, saying pretty much “every single indicator” is pointing to a landslide victory for House Republicans. “Pretty much every single indicator that pointed to a Democratic wave in the 2018 midterms now points to a Republican one in the 2022 midterms,” Harry Enten wrote.

MSNBC contributor and former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) said Monday on “Deadline” that she believed “red states” would enact “vigilantism laws” that would enable citizens to round up people who look like foreigners. During a discussion about the Texas abortion law that allows private citizens to sue people involved in an abortion, McCaskill said, “You know, every once in a while somebody on the Supreme Court surprises us by making a decision that would not be expected based on the politics of the president who appointed them. I’m afraid those days of surprise are over. I think we know everybody,...
