Biden admin lobbied against bill, fearing it would torpedo climate negotiations with China Senate Democrats are blocking legislation that would prohibit imports from China made with Uyghur slave labor, in response to pressure from Biden administration officials who fear the bill would torpedo climate negotiations with the Chinese government. The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, a bill sponsored by Sen. Marco Rubio has long been circulating in Congress and is backed by the human rights community and opponents of China's forced labor camps, was included in a package of 25 amendments to the annual defense authorization bill. But Democrats excluded...

In a rant that is eerily similar to one you would hear from Adolf Hitler against the Jews, a Black Lives Matter leader and admitted black supremacist, Manuel Griffen, was recorded spewing pro-genocide language against white people. At one point Manuel even states "I'm for putting all white possums in gas chambers", he then doubled down on his racist speech on Twitter by saying yes, it is him spewing the hate speech, and yes, he absolutely agrees that whites need to be exterminated. This man is still allowed on Twitter, while those reporting him for racism is being deleted.

[Catholic Caucus] Today’s day thought experiment: The Oregon TrailA friend sent this:I never played Oregon Trail, but I watched enough Westerns and studied enough history that I get the gist.Today’s day thought experiment:The wagon train is headed west. After crossing the Mississippi, things seem to go well through the plains – but then as things start to rise toward the Rockies, the going gets tougher. There are some Native attacks, the path gets more difficult. The wagon train is still largely together, but it’s showing signs of imminent trouble. The leadership calls a brief halt to discuss what’s going wrong and...

What’s Happening: This week, the Supreme Court heard arguments on a case that could have a dramatic impact on the future of our country. They will be ruling on a pro-life law out of Mississippi. Their decision could strike down Roe v. Wade, the court ruling that legalized abortion in the United States. Many critics believe the key “swing” vote on the court will come from Brett Kavanaugh. Why? Because many assumed Chief Justice Roberts would side with the liberal wing of the party. But something Roberts just said flipped the court on its ear. And the left just might...

Is anybody out there as sick of Mitch McConnell’s crap as I am? His latest sell out about how a government shut down is not the right place to fight this Covid tyranny just pushed me over the edge. After he showed his true colors and allowed the Dems to extend the debt limit. I tried to call his office and of course the mailbox is full. I’m going to stop right there because I am freaking infuriated

A federal judge in Austin Wednesday blocked Texas' social media censorship law, which prohibits large social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter from censoring users "based on their political viewpoints." The law, known as House Bill 20, was signed by Gov. Greg Abbott on Sept. 9 and set to take effect Thursday. However, U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman wrote in his ruling that the measure interferes with platforms' First Amendment right to moderate content disseminated on their platforms. Pitman called content moderation "the very tool that social media platforms employ to make their platforms safe, useful, and enjoyable for users."

Francis's Development of "the Supraheresy" that was "Unknown even to the Heretics of Earlier Ages" vs. Benedict XVI & Vatican I on "Lawful Development" of Scripture and Tradition It appears that most Catholics don't know that Francis's latest possible attack on Traditionalist Catholics which Gloria.tv called "Francis Plans Bloodbath: Roman Rite Communities Will Be FORCED Into Novus Ordo" (https://www.gloria.tv/post/cCnpRKVZbAvb6QHZBBNYhUQu7) is apparently an attack on Vatican I and Pope Benedict XVI's teachings on the limits of the authority of the pope and "lawful development":- For the Holy Spirit was promised to the successors of Peter not so that they might,...

In a surreal and chaotic scene Thursday, a number of Republican lawmakers publicly defied new rules requiring people at the New Jersey Statehouse in Trenton show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test. At one point, there was a 15-minute standoff as State Police troopers tried to block a group of non-compliant legislators from entering the state Assembly chamber. But the lawmakers eventually walked past them to their seats. The episode brought heavy drama to the state Legislature’s first voting session of the already hectic lame-duck period. It came one day after the new vaccine policy took effect as...

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities in Los Angeles on Thursday announced more than a dozen arrests in recent smash-and-grab thefts at stores where nearly $340,000 worth of merchandise was stolen, part of a rash of organized retail crime in California. Fourteen people were arrested in connection with 11 brazen robberies between Nov. 18 and 28, and all are out of custody, police Chief Michel Moore said. Most bailed out or met no-bail criteria, and one is a juvenile, he said. At a joint news conference, both Moore and Mayor Eric Garcetti called for an end to a no-bail policy for...

No senator other than her former boss, Sen. Richard Shelby, has publicly endorsed Katie Britt yet. But she is quietly getting support from at least a half-dozen of Shelby’s Republican colleagues in her bid against Donald Trump’s pick in Alabama’s open Senate race. Five Republican senators — Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) and Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) — have donated to Britt’s campaign from their leadership PACs. None of them have done so yet for GOP Rep. Mo Brooks, who Trump endorsed in April to replace the retiring Shelby (R-Ala.). Sen. Tommy Tuberville...

Cabrales-Arzola, an interior designer who had recently moved to Los Angeles from Mexico, was hospitalized in critical condition Nov. 13 after a night out with 24-year-old Giles. She was dropped off at a West L.A. hospital hours after Giles’ body was left at a Culver City hospital. Maricopa County Superior Court Judge John Hannah, who was appointed to the bench by former Gov. Janet Napolitano, ruled that the Arizona Senate must turn over records from the Maricopa County ballot audit to satisfy a public record request from The Arizona Republic. The newspaper and left-wing watchdog American Oversight have been engaged in litigation attempting to get records from the legislature and the contractor that conducted the audit, Cyber Ninjas. Hannah said that while the legislature may keep conversations about legislation private, under “legislative privilege,” conversations about the audit are excluded. “This is not a confidential process,” Hannah said....

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate passed a stopgap spending bill Thursday that avoids a short-term shutdown and funds the federal government through Feb. 18 after leaders defused a partisan standoff over federal vaccine mandates. The measure now goes to President Joe Biden to be signed into law. “I am glad that in the end, cooler heads prevailed. The government will stay open and I thank the members of this chamber for walking us back from the brink of an avoidable, needless and costly shutdown,” said Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. The Senate approved the measure by a vote of...

The Senate on Thursday blocked an amendment to a stop-gap funding bill that would defund President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate. The Senate voted 48-50, just a few votes short of the 51-vote majority necessary to pass the Marshall-Lee amendment to H.R. 6119, the continuing resolution (CR). The Marshall-Lee proposal would have defunded Biden’s vaccine mandate. The CR would fund the government through February 18.
