Virginia Republican Governor-Elect Glenn Youngkin’s former Carlyle Group cohorts own Dominion Voting Systems, the controversial voting machine company that is at the heart of widespread claims the 2020 presidential election was fraudulently stolen. ‘Carlyle co-founder David Rubenstein personally recruited Glenn Youngkin to join the organization in 1995. He was there for 25 years.’ / Twitter image This disturbing fact did not prevent Youngkin from running as the “alternative” to those who were declared the victor in the highly-irregular presidential race. He even repeatedly called for an “audit” of the Dominion machines themselves while on the campaign trail. Was this classic...

GOP’s Senate leader, Sen. Mitch McConnell, slammed the administration’s leaked offer of $450,000 in reparations to individual illegal migrants who claim to have been separated from their children or parents. Notably, the speech tentatively compared the administration’s planned generosity to migrants with the administration’s economic policies that hurt Americans’ finances.

... Some have cited a lack of studies on the connection between masks and depression and anxiety among children, but this seems ridiculous when considered in context: it’s no surprise that we don’t have very much good science on these questions. How could we have studied the mental and emotional impact of masks on children except by putting masks on them, their parents, friends, teachers, siblings, etc.? There are, after all, ethical constraints on our experimental designs for a reason. The truth is that scientists have no way of knowing what the long-term mental health consequences of forcing children to...

Editor’s Commentary: There have always been dangers to children who are trick-or-treating on Halloween, but this may be the first time kids were administered experimental drugs instead of candy on October 31. At least one six- and one seven-year-old child were injected with a full dose of Pfizer’s Covid-19 drugs in Garland, Texas, during a Halloween gathering at a local church where the city had set up a vaccination center. The nurses responsible for the action were not authorized to administer the drugs to anyone under the age of 12, but that didn’t stop them from injecting the young children....

A Will County Republican who had one of the top political jobs in the state Legislature — but didn’t hesitate to reach out to Democrats on issues where he saw common ground — announced Wednesday that he won’t seek another term. snip First elected in 2014, Batinick is currently serving his fourth term representing portions of the far southwest and western suburbs including Oswego, Naperville, Bolingbrook, Joliet and Shorewood. The suburban lawmaker was named the Republican’s House floor leader in January, a post that generally designates the person in charge of the party’s organization or strategy when the chamber is...

Memorial of Saint Charles Borromeo, Bishop Luke 15:1-10 Friends, one feature of today’s Gospel passage is the craziness of the shepherd: “What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the lost one until he finds it?” Well, the implied answer is “No one.” Who would take that great a risk, putting the ninety-nine in danger to find the one? It’s just bad economics. Why would God fret over one little soul? Why would he bother? Well, it’s his nature. It’s what he does. As...

Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday attempted to spin Tuesday’s crushing election defeats for the Democrat Party. “We had great wins… and I celebrate those,” she said to reporters on Capitol Hill. “We’ll keep doing what we need to do.” When asked about the massive losses in Virginia and Republican competitiveness in New Jersey, Harris replied she would “leave it up to the pundits.” Harris then pointed to Eric Adams’ New York City mayoral race and the special election in Ohio’s 11th district as evidence of the “great wins.”

New EPA methane-emission regulations will strangle domestic oil production, enrich our adversaries, and damage the global environment. Biden administration is escalating its war against the American oil industry. According to an article in the November 2, 2021, Wall Street Journal, Biden’s EPA will soon issue regulations requiring that all associated natural gas released in conjunction with oil production be put in pipelines for delivery to market: The Environmental Protection Agency would seek for the first time to regulate methane at existing wells nationwide, a move smaller producers fought for years. The move would place roughly a million new and existing...

The map of favorite Thanksgiving sides, provided by Zippia, is surprisingly varied. Okay, get your arguin’ pants on, everybody, because we’ve got a Thanksgiving map for you. This one features America’s favorite Thanksgiving sides by state. It’s provided by Zippia, a career resource site which used Google Trends to determine each state’s most-searched side. The Zippia team based its data on a pre-determined list of classic Thanksgiving side dishes, and they did make some calls that you might consider controversial—for example, labeling gravy a side, because it’s not a main dish (nor a drink, as they joked). The team also...

Merck announced on Thursday that the United Kingdom conditionally authorized the use of its antiviral COVID-19 pill, molnupiravir. The pharmaceutical company said that molnupiravir, developed with Ridgeback Biotherapeutics, had been authorized for use in Britain to treat mild to moderate cases of COVID-19 for adults with positive COVID-19 tests who had “at least one risk factor for developing severe illness.” The conditional authorization was based on an analysis of phase-three trials that found that use of the antiviral COVID-19 pill drastically reduced hospitalization in people who were administered molnupiravir.

America’s tech and economic future depends to a great extent on our ability to lead the world in 5G wireless technology, and that future is being threatened by some needless concerns coming from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The FAA says they are worried that 5G wireless, specifically a portion of the middle band spectrum (referred to as the C-Band), will interfere with the ability of radio altimeters to measure and relay a plane’s altitude to pilots. Unfortunately, the information on which the FAA bases its fears is wrong, as it is the result of a poorly designed and conducted...

In Sweden, a new study followed 840,000 people who were double vaccinated for nine months which is longer than any previous study. The researchers matched them or “paired them” with another 840,000 people who were the same, age, sex and from the same area. Out of this 1.6 million pooled sample, 27,000 people went on to get infected, and most of them were unvaccinated (21,000). So that’s not surprising, but underlying this data was an extraordinary trend showing efficacy falling month after month. In the first two to four weeks, the double vaccinated were very well protected. But by nine...

Republican Jack Ciattarelli’s campaign says it’s “irresponsible” the Associated Press called the New Jersey race for Democrat governor Phil Murphy so early in the counting. “With the candidates separated by a fraction of a percent out of 2.4 million ballots cast, it’s irresponsible of the media to make this call when the New Jersey Secretary of State doesn’t even know how many ballots are left to be counted,” Ciattarelli Campaign Communications Director Stami Williams said on Twitter Wednesday.
