China announced on Wednesday the discovery of a major shale oilfield in the Daqing Oilfield cluster with expected reserves of 1.27 billion tons of oil, Chinese Xinhua news agency reported. Daqing Oilfield is one of China’s major onshore production centers, and the new discovery is expected to help it boost its oil production in the coming years, according to Xinhua. That oilfield has about 40 wells producing currently. The new find is expected to boost that significantly, but there’s a catch. The oil and gas in this field are very deep underground, and the field itself lacks sufficient pipeline access...

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) is now floating conspiracy theories about how a Breitbart News story on the existence of a classified report detailing the explicit nature of his relationship with Chinese spy Fang Fang came out—but he is not denying the intelligence report exists. The saga begins as follows: Back in late July, Breitbart News published an explosive exclusive investigation quoting multiple sources including a former senior national security official and a former senior external adviser to intelligence community leadership revealing the existence of a classified report circulated among intelligence community officials that detailed the nature of Swalwell’s relationship with...

The Covid-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted the finances of many Black Americans, including student loan borrowers. Black college graduates owe an average of $25,000 more in student loan debt than white college grads, and over 50% of Black borrowers say their net worth is less than what they owe on student loans. Now, a number of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) are stepping in to help alleviate that financial burden. With federal funding and private donations, these schools are wiping out current students’ account balances — including tuition and fees — and giving them a fresh start. “We’re committing...

John Kerry, President Biden’s special envoy for climate, is reportedly looking to push China to issue a moratorium on financing coal projects during a trip to the country next week. The Wall Street Journal reported the plans, citing people familiar with the matter, one of whom said that U.S. officials are looking for China to declare a formal pause as Beijing has yet to fund any new foreign coal plants or investments this year. 2021 is the first year Beijing has not launched new funding for foreign coal projects since 2013, when it launched its Belt and Road Initiative focused...

Yesterday, thirteen military personnel were killed working at the gate at Kabul airport in Afghanistan. They weren't killed in battle with an enemy at their front with a chance to defend themselves; rather, they were blown up by a gutless terrorist ideologue who blended himself among women and children in order to get the maximum effect out of his insanity. To remind or inform some of those who don't pay much attention to pesky world events on social media, there won't be enough left of some of these troops to put into a Walmart bag and send home to their...

Abstract Background Immune protection following either vaccination or infection with SARS-CoV-2 decreases over time. Objective To determine the kinetics of SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibodies following administration of two doses of BNT162b2 vaccine, or SARS-CoV-2 infection in unvaccinated individuals. Methods Antibody titers were measured between January 31, 2021, and July 31, 2021 in two mutually exclusive groups: i) vaccinated individuals who received two doses of BNT162b2 vaccine and had no history of previous infection with COVID-19 and ii) SARS-CoV-2 convalescents who had not received the vaccine. Results A total of 2,653 individuals fully vaccinated by two doses of vaccine during the study...

He said he administers a low dosage based on the people’s weight with a cocktail of steroids and vitamins.

First spotted in the U.S. in 2019, Asian giant hornets—you know, murder hornets—have become an ongoing problem. As if you don’t already have enough to worry about, murder hornets are now an annual problem in the U.S. The Washington State Department of Agriculture on Thursday announced that it located and eradicated the first nest of Asian giant hornets, better known by the much more catchy murder hornets, in the state this year. The nest contained some 1,500 hornets “in various stages of development,” WSDA said in a press release, and photos released by the department show many were in the...

After months of supposed hiding, the Capitol Hill cop who shot unarmed pro-Trump protestor Ashli Babbitt at the Capitol, Lt. Michael Byrd has come out of the woodwork to talk about his shooting, in a softball interview with NBC's Lester Holt. Which is weird stuff, given that for months his identity had been concealed, by investigators, Congress, and other supposed watchdogs, on the grounds that revealing it to angry Trump supporters was too dangerous, and whose investigative conclusions excused him from accountability. Now he's come out -- telling Lester Holt of his great heroics. He doesn't even need to, having...

President Joe Biden said he had been given a pre-selected list of reporters and was instructed which ones to call on during his Thursday press conference regarding the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan. Kayleigh McEnany, who was White House press secretary under former President Donald Trump, blasted Biden’s list and said nothing like that ever took place during her tenure. “Ladies and gentlemen, they gave me a list here,” Biden said during the press conference. “The first person I was instructed to call on Kelly O’Donnell of NBC.”

MEMORIAL OF SAINT MONICA MATTHEW 25:1-13 Friends, our Gospel today is the parable that compares the kingdom of heaven "with ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom." This is an image borrowed from the customs of the time. The bridesmaids would wait for the groom and, upon his appearance, accompany him. Well, this is the Christian community, waiting for Christ the groom to arrive. Did Jesus tell this parable because he knew that his Church would be in for a long period of waiting? We are wise in our waiting if we pray on...

resident Biden's dementia no longer explains the destructive policies his administration has implemented since taking office. The horror that took thirteen American lives in Kabul on Wednesday is intentional; there is no other explanation. This is purposeful. Biden may be out to lunch, but those around him are not. They are calling the shots; it is Klain, Blinken, Austin, Milley, McKenzie, Sullivan, et al. who have brought us to the lowest the nation has ever found itself: voluntarily defeated, at home and abroad. Susan Rice, Eric Holder, and Obama are likely part of the left's destroy-America crowd. Pelosi and Schumer...

Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla predicted in a Wednesday interview that people will most likely need annual COVID-19 booster shots, a sign that we'll be contending with the novel coronavirus for years to come. Speaking with Insider by phone, Bourla acknowledged the uncertainty around his guess. But he said he believes regular vaccinations will be needed because of the potential for new variants to emerge and vaccine protection to wane over time. "The most likely scenario is we will be needing annual re-vaccination, as we do with the flu vaccine," Bourla said. Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine, which was co-developed with the German...

As the world watches in horror, the leaders of history's mightiest country are begging a terrorist group not to harm defenseless Americans left in a crumbling, trillion-dollar trap of our own design. Considering we hold all the receipts, it's worth asking how we got here. The main problem, of course, is President Joe Biden's botched withdrawal. It's scary that the people running our country can be that incompetent. Pulling out American troops before the safe withdrawal of American citizens would be a hilarious concept if it weren't what actually happened. Leaving sophisticated American military technology for these terrorists is equally...
