A 34-year-old woman‘s death has been linked to a rare blood clotting condition associated with the AstraZeneca vaccine.

She died on Wednesday after receiving her first dose and developing thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS), the Therapeutic Goods Administration said.

Hers is the seventh death linked to the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, of which about 6.8 million shots have now been administered across the country.

Six of those deaths were linked to TTS, while the other was a case of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks blood platelets.

Data suggests that TTS occurs in 2 to 3 out of every 100,000 people who receive a first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Leading Sydney doctors have urged people to get immunised with AstraZeneca, warning that Covid-19 kills about 3 per cent and causes long-term illness in 10 to 30 per cent of those who contract it.

The VAERS system has been shown by a Harvard study to only record somewhere between 1% and 5% of actual cases/deaths and there are reports that they are intentionally filtering out cases/deaths that are detrimental to the COVID-19 vaccines.
