Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) fired back at Justice Department nominee Kristen Clarke after she denied being anti-police. At her confirmation hearing on Wednesday, the Republican grilled Clarke on her June op-ed titled: “I Prosecuted Police Killings. Defund the Police, but Be Strategic.”Cruz said the article begins by claiming last summer’s left-wing riots “opened up the space for transformative policy discussion” and “surged a unifying call for the Black Lives Matter movement.” Clarke attempted to dance around the question, but Cruz asserted these were her words.

Billboards for ‘sensible gun control’ going up in Boulder by: Web Staff Apr 15, 2021 BOULDER, Colo. (KDVR) – A Boulder attorney, Lindasue Smollen, has started a GofundMe campaign to raise money for billboards. Her current billboard states “The Second Amendment was written in 1791.” Smollen compares gun laws to those that have been updated for modern times, such as traffic and media laws. How many more senseless deaths must there be before reasonable restrictions are placed on assault style weapons? Help me fund this message. LINDASUE SMOLLEN’S GOFUNDME CAMPAIGN

Within an hour of each other, charging decisions in two lethal police shootings were announced with strikingly different conclusions. The decisions reached in the shootings of Daunte Wright in Minnesota and Ashli Babbitt in Washington highlight concerns over the political and legal elements that can influence such decisions. The timing of the two decisions that involved two chaotic situations raises questions why charges were filed in Minnesota, but not in Washington. In the Minnesota shooting, police were attempting to arrest Wright who, after a traffic stop, was found to have an outstanding warrant for fleeing police with an unlicensed firearm....

Former George W. Bush campaign strategist Matthew Dowd said Thursday on CNN’s “OutFront” that Republicans demonizing National Institutes of Health expert Dr. Anthony Fauci were attacking “science and data.” Discussing Republican’s demeanor while questioning Fauci at congressional hearings, Burnett said, “This is far from the first time we’ve seen Republicans try to beat up on Dr. Fauci. They love these moments. We saw it from Jim Jordan today and Rand Paul not long ago. That’s how it’s been. Why is the GOP so obsessed with going after Dr. Fauci?” Dowd said, “Well, I think this is fundamentally about the attack...

"It is time to end the forever war." So said President Joe Biden in his announcement that, as of Sept. 11, the 20th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, all U.S. troops will be gone from Afghanistan. The longest war in our history, which cost 2,400 dead, 20,000 wounded and $2 trillion, is ending -- but only for Americans, not Afghans. Secretary of State Antony Blinken assured our NATO allies in Brussels that we are all leaving with our mission accomplished: "Together we went into Afghanistan to deal with those who attacked us and to...

Second Week of Easter John 6:1–15 Friends, our Gospel today focuses on St. John’s intense meditation on the meaning of the Eucharist. The tone is set with the familiar story of the feeding of the five thousand, the only miracle story mentioned in each of the four Gospels. This scene deeply affected the first Christians. Jesus instructs his disciples to have the crowd recline on the grass. Taking the barley loaves and dried fish, Jesus makes a meal that satisfies the enormous crowd. They are hungry, tired, and worn out from their exertions, and Jesus gives them sustenance for the...

Yesterday’s WSJ had an article on the inherently hellish nature of homeowners’ associations (HOAs). Like so many things, the author notes that HOAs were born of good intentions but eventually move sideways and end up enforcing the reasonable along with the increasingly ridiculous rules with “equal gusto.” She notes that HOA rules start out reasonable but quickly proliferate into the sublimely foolish. The people who are inclined to establish such rules often have undiagnosed psychological problems with their mother/father and hold extremely strong views on everything. And they believe that everyone else should be required to share their views. All...

Instead of prioritizing resources to confront the menace posed by America’s foreign adversaries the IC is devoting most of its time to pursuing Americans on the political Right. The freshly reelected Republican senator from Nebraska had kind words this week for Joe Biden’s intelligence chiefs. “The American people are blessed to have an [intelligence community] as serious as ours,” Senator Ben Sasse said during Wednesday’s Senate Intelligence Committee hearing. He called the group, which included FBI Director Christopher Wray and CIA Director William Burns, “heroes” and wanted a chance to “say thank you” in front of the American people. Sasse,...

It was all lies. Because of course it was. – Hey, remember how, during the midst of the presidential campaign last year, the CIA leaked allegations that the evil Russians were taking out bounties on the heads of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan? Remember how China Joe and Kamala pounded President Trump on the campaign trail for not doing anything to punish Russia and Vladimir Putin over those stories? Remember how CNN and MSNBC and the NY Times and The WaPo and the rest of the corrupt, Nazi-style propaganda media pounded on these leaked allegations night after night, day after day?...

65 percent of those infected were women, while more than 40 percent were people over the age of 65.Approximately 5,800 fully vaccinated Americans — out of 66 million who received the shots — still became infected with COVID-19, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data reported Thursday. The infections, dubbed breakthrough cases — or positive test results that occur at least two weeks after a person gets their final coronavirus vaccine dose — represents about 0.008 percent of Americans who are fully vaccinated, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Ok, so, follow me here… – James O’Keefe and Project Veritas repeatedly exposed CNN’s Nazi-style propaganda operation all over Twitter this week, airing videos of a senior producer at the cable channel only Joseph Goebbels could love bragging about CNN’s efforts to slant and outright fake the news it reports to its pathetic viewers in order to help tilt the 2020 presidential election in favor of our new Sock Puppet-in-Chief, China Joe Biden. This producer’s on-video testimony reveals clearly and unambiguously that CNN has knowingly and intentionally aired fake news and promoted false conspiracies not only on air, but also...

Reliving the awful details of George Floyd's slow suffocation is brutal and emotionally draining. As always in matters touching on race, the thrum of ethnic hostilities is the background noise. Some have been eager, since the trial began, to cite George Floyd's drug use or heart trouble as the true cause of death (arguments the prosecution has effectively debunked). Others have argued that if Floyd had simply agreed to enter the squad car, he would be alive today -- as if that exonerates the officers. But it seems that the shadow of Derek Chauvin is obscuring our ability to make...

If we could go back in time and warn the German people of the true intentions of the Nazi Party, would it have made any difference? If we could go back in time and warn the German people of the true intentions of the Nazi Party, would it have made any difference? Or would the German people have called us conspiracy theorists and rushed to the defense of Hitler and the Nazi Party? We can't go back in time, but we can study the past in an effort to avoid repeating history. What if I told you that what happened...

In the years leading to America’s Revolutionary War, Benjamin Franklin referred to Colonial soldiers fighting the British Army for their independence as “patriots.” Today’s patriots are fighting a technological army that prefers totalitarianism instead of freedom, election cheating instead of election integrity, and some lives matter instead of all lives matter. One local newsletter won’t change the Democrat Party’s stampede to Marxism. But it can most definitely help the noble cause when combined with the affirmative actions of millions of other conservative patriots across the country who are doing something more than just posting on Facebook, Twitter, etc. and screaming...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem Psalm 36Psalm 36[a] For the director of music. Of David the servant of the Lord. 1 I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked:[b] There is no fear of God before their eyes. 2 In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin. 3 The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good. 4 Even on their beds they plot evil; they commit themselves to a sinful course and do not reject what...

The Middle East, as the historian Fouad Ajami once wrote, is a chronicle of illusions, despair, and politics repeatedly degenerating into bloodletting. Certainly the area has exhibited political instability, regional fragmentation, violence and kleptocracy. Uneasy lies the head of whoever wears the crown or is in the line of succession. Leaders have suffered the fate of execution or political ouster: Faisal II of Iraq in 1958, King Farouk in 1952 and Hosni Mubarak in 2011 in Egypt; King Idris in 1969 and Muammar Gaddafi in 2011 in Libya, the Shah in Iran in 1978, Habib Bourguiba in Tunisia in 1987....

How can America fight authoritarianism while making it domestic policy? Buried at the end of page nineteen of the Biden administration's twenty-three-page Interim National Security Strategic Guidance issued to the public last month is this gem: "Authoritarianism is on the global march, and we must join with likeminded allies and partners to revitalize democracy the world over." Put aside, for a moment, that the custodians of our constitutional republic still mistake "democracy" as the antithesis to "authoritarianism," rather than "liberty" or "individual rights," which are the true bulwarks for a free people to guard against the tyrant's will. Authoritarianism is...

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn. The nations raged, the kingdoms were...

In the archives of legal fiction, two characters best embody historic liberal self-perception. One is attorney Atticus Finch of To Kill a Mockingbird fame. The other is Juror #8 in the 1957 film, 12 Angry Men. Today, each is an endangered species. In his defense of Tom Robinson, a black man accused of rape in 1930s Alabama, Atticus ignored public opinion. He stared down the mobs intent on extra-legal justice and protected his ”mockingbird” as best he could. The unlikely mockingbird today is former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. As Chauvin learned quickly, if he did not know it beforehand,...
