It’s wrong on so many levels. Own that your officer made a choice you have to investigate. State that you are complying with state and federal authorities during the investigation. Report that the officer has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation. And then STOP talking. Leave the podium if you have to. Whatever you do, don’t fumble a narrative and tell people the officer ‘accidentally’ reached for a duty weapon and grabbed a taser instead.

The head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) put forth an opposing view to the Michigan governor’s administration Monday about how to deal with the CCP virus surge, saying the answer to Michigan’s “acute situation” with the virus is not to surge vaccines but to shut down the state and “flatten the curve.” “The answer to that is to really close things down to go back to our basics, to go back to where we were last spring—last summer—and to shut things down, to flatten the curve,” CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said during a Monday press briefing....

Kentucky GOP Sen. Rand Paul is sounding the alarm on two Republican senators who are, as he claims, “lying” to conservative voters. While delivering remarks at the Save America Summit in Florida, Paul called for GOP Sens. Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins to be “ousted” because they are a “problem” for the party. “This is our problem,” Paul started. “Seven Republicans voted to keep Obamacare. You remember John McCain doing it,” he said. “But here’s the thing: this is our problem.” He continued: “We know the Democrats want to have socialized medicine and nationalized health care. But Republicans say they’re...

The Biden administration has reached agreements with Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala to boost security at their borders in an attempt to curb a surge of migrants to the southern U.S. boundary, White House officials said on Monday. “The objective is to make it more difficult to make the journey and make crossing the borders more difficult,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters. “We worked with them to increase law enforcement at the border to deter the travel, which is a treacherous journey ... where many lose their lives.” The agreements were struck in recent weeks, she said. Psaki...

Explanation: What lights up the Flame Nebula? Fifteen hundred light years away towards the constellation of Orion lies a nebula which, from its glow and dark dust lanes, appears, on the left, like a billowing fire. But fire, the rapid acquisition of oxygen, is not what makes this Flame glow. Rather the bright star Alnitak, the easternmost star in the Belt of Orion visible on the far left, shines energetic light into the Flame that knocks electrons away from the great clouds of hydrogen gas that reside there. Much of the glow results when the electrons and ionized hydrogen recombine....

A House committee this week will take an unprecedented vote to create a commission to study providing federal reparations to the descendants of black slaves. House Democrats say they have the political momentum to advance H.R. 40, an act to create a commission to study and develop reparation proposals for black people. "The historic markup of H.R. 40 is intended to continue a national conversation about how to confront the brutal mistreatment of African Americans during chattel slavery, Jim Crow segregation, and the enduring structural racism that remains endemic to our society today," Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, a New...

Last month a professor at Georgetown Law named Sandra Sellers was fired after video came to light of some comments she made about the black students in her classes. Adjunct professors Sandra Sellers, who taught at the prestigious Washington, D.C., law school for nearly 20 years, claimed her Black students routinely grade lower than others in a conversation with colleague David Batson. “I hate to say this. I end up having this angst every semester that a lot of my lower ones are Blacks, happens almost every semester,” she said in the recorded conversation posted to Twitter last week. “And...

In the early afternoon of April 11th, 2021, internal and external communications staffers for embattled Congressman Matt Gaetz (FL-1) received a request for comment from newly minted CNN reporter Gabby Orr.Orr, a former POLITICO employee, would report as her first story for Jeff Zucker’s network that Rep. Gaetz had been denied a meeting with former President Trump. The aim of the story was to weaken support for Gaetz on Capitol Hill as the House returns from recess.Orr’s e-mail read: “Apologies for bothering you on a Sunday but I wanted to run something by you for confirmation before reporting it out…...

ear the COVID variants, say the experts. Fear for your lives! We’ve been told that the UK variant is more deadly. To combat that, wear a mask. That’s what Anthony Fauci says. That’s what the lab coats say. Wear a mask and listen to us and the variants will go away or something. Nope. Texas reopened a month ago, nixed their mask mandate, and there have been no spikes. Nothing’s happened. There is no fourth COVID wave. The vaccines are working. We’re near herd immunity. NBC News committed a grave sin recently. They actually reported that the COVID cases in...

Hunter Biden, the president’s son, apparently faces no legal consequences for lying during a background check while buying a gun, unlike other Americans. **SNIP** Juan Sauceda went to a Walmart in Brownsville, Texas, in September 2018 to buy a 12-gauge pump shotgun and attested that he never was convicted of a felony–despite convictions on two counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon in 2013, according to the Justice Department. A judge sentenced Sauceda to 18 months in prison, followed by two years of supervised release. A month after Sauceda committed the crime that led to his conviction, Hunter...

Why I Signed “To Awaken Conscience”The statement “To Awaken Conscience” on so-called “abortion tainted” vaccines was meant to propose an ideal, not give arguments. I signed it because I agree with that ideal. But a philosopher should have reasons too, and here I wish to give them. These reasons also explain why I reject the statement recently offered by some Catholics under the auspices of the Ethics & Public Policy Center (EPPC).In ethical questions, one has to follow the right method. Right method does not mean coming up with an argument that seems obvious to you, even if it implies...

Well I got a big shock. My stepmom asked my dad for a divorce and it looks to be moving fast. He's 72. I never liked her, and my mean mother busted out laughing at the news. I'm hit kinda hard. I didn't really depend on my dad much, and we have our beefs, but it's hard hearing your elderly father nearly breaking down and crying. Sorry for the vanity, I hope I put it in the right place.

A follow-up study of 33 people who received Moderna Inc's COVID-19 vaccine in early trials show the antibodies it induced are still present six months after the second dose. "Antibody activity remained high in all age groups," researchers said. They confirmed the findings using three different tests, according to a report on Tuesday in The New England Journal of Medicine. Earlier this month, Pfizer Inc and partner BioNTech SE said their vaccine using similar messenger RNA (mRNA) technology remained highly effective for at least six months.. The researchers conducting the Moderna vaccine study will continue to follow the same volunteers...

The Vatican Remains Silent on the Persecution of Chinese ChristiansLast November, Pope Francis, for the first time, called China’s Muslim Uighurs a “persecuted” people, something human rights activists have been urging him to do for years. However, during his solemn Urbi et Orbi Easter blessing on Easter Sunday, Francis snubbed the Uighurs as he carefully omitted any reference to those suffering human rights abuses under China’s Communist regime when he named an array of countries, such as Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Nigeria, and Tigray where people are plagued by violence and conflict. All things being equal, there is one group...

NEW YORK — One year ago, Governor Andrew Cuomo’s performance at COVID-19’s onset made him the darling of the American Left. Some considered him a potential white knight who could rescue Democrats, if the other presidential candidates stumbled.Today, Cuomo is a failed jockey atop a crippled donkey. His skull pounds from ethics headaches tied to COVID deaths in nursing homes, a cover-up of related fatality data, and matching migraines stemming from sexual-harassment allegations. Amid calls for his resignation or impeachment, Cuomo recently moaned, “I am not part of the political club.”This whine was shocking, coming from a governor, former state...

Why is sugar not transparent? Because light that penetrates a piece of sugar is scattered, altered and deflected in a highly complicated way. However, as a research team from TU Wien (Vienna) and Utrecht University (Netherlands) has now been able to show, there is a class of very special light waves for which this does not apply: for any specific disordered medium—such as the sugar cube you may just have put in your coffee—tailor-made light beams can be constructed that are practically not changed by this medium, but only attenuated. The light beam penetrates the medium, and a light pattern...

Joe Gutierrez who ain't "white" exposes BLM faux narrative about so-called "black & Brown"Virginia Cop Joe Gutierrez Fired After Pepper-Spraying Black Army Lt. Nazario By Christina Zhao on 4/11/21 AT 10:49 PM EDT A Windsor, Virginia police officer who escalated a traffic stop of a Black and Latino Army Lieutenant has been fired from the force. The proregressive narrative and BLM and its supporters of "equal" victimhood VS facts, such as the Joe Gutierrez case and others. Disingenuous CNN carefully only mentioned the color and ethnicity of Nazario. Not of "brown" Gutierrez, the cop. Of course. Second Lt. Caron Nazario,...
