A “lavish” Hanukkah party was thrown at the foot of the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, on Thursday evening.

There was a time in America when the three broadcast television networks enjoyed a monopoly and the major newspapers such as the Washington Post and the New York Times were extremely powerful. During that time, weekly magazines were also popular and considered must reading. For decades,Time Magazine was quite influential in our country. Every year, the magazine would award their “Man of the Year” or “Woman of the Year.” Readers truly looked forward to this year-end announcement, probably not realizing the left-wing tilt of the magazine. As evidence, the award winners have often been Democratic presidents like Harry Truman, Bill...

Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane, Washington, rejected a student’s yearbook picture because she posed with an American flag draped over her shoulders. A statement from the school claims the decision was not made against what the flag represents, but out of respect: “We respect our flag as much as any school in the area and were concerned that in the photo submitted it was being used as a prop in the photo and was not being afforded appropriate regard.” “The fact that I can’t have my senior picture in the yearbook because it contains the American flag in...

The first of this week's two biggest stories was Friday evening’s action by the Supreme Court refusing to hear the lawsuit brought by Texas and other states respecting the evident fraud in the balloting in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Michigan. I expressed my views on this yesterday here: 'A Republic, If You Can Keep It' | The Pipeline In short, I believe if the Court had decided to take it, it would not have decided who won these states. Instead, had it decided that the electors from those states were chosen illegally, it would have remanded the complaints to the...

Will & Grace star and LGBTQ advocate Debra Messing aimed a gay insult at President Donald Trump in a recent tweet, saying that she hopes he goes to jail where he will become “the most popular boyfriend” among the inmates. Debra Messing also gushed over German chancellor Angela Merkel, praising her lockdown policies as Germany faces surging coronavirus cases. In a recent tweet, the Emmy-winning Hollywood star described President Trump as “weak, scared, stupid, inept, negligent, vindictive, narcissistic, criminal.”

Homeless advocates reported this week that the coronavirus pandemic has pushed the New York City shelter population to record numbers, according to CBS New York. The advocates described the numbers as “astronomical,” saying that for the first time, the number of single adults sleeping in Department of Homeless Services shelters has grown to more than 20,000. “That includes an all-time record of 15,369 single men — and a near record of 4,841 single women — in October, the latest statistics available,” the article read.

It’s just the flu, bro. https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/3914867/posts This was posted yesterday on Freerepublic. Student groups are being encouraged to investigate and judge COVID rule violations. This is cultural change of the worst kind. This is North Korea now and this is Maoist China. We need more of “Live Free or Die” and less of acting like communists do. Snitching has always been a staple of communism - the two have gone hand in hand for 100 years. It would be disgusting if Coronavirus turns us into a snitch society. Christianity advocates that you talk to your brother one on one and...

Keisha Lance Bottoms has turned down an opportunity to join the cabinet in the incoming Joe Biden administration. Bottoms is currently the Mayor of Atlanta, Georgia, and is seen as a rising star in the Democratic Party. She was even seen as a potential running mate for Biden when he entered the race and was vetted for the role, a position that ultimately went to VP-elect Kamala Harris.

This has been one far-out year! UFO sightings across the city are up 31% from last year — 46, compared with 35 — and an eye-popping 283% from 2018’s measly dozen, according to the National UFO Reporting Center. Brooklyn is tops in tin-foil hatters, with 12 close encounters. Not far behind are Manhattan with 11 and Queens with 10. Staten Islanders claim just eight — despite the borough’s rep for not social distancing. The Bronx is even more grounded, chalking up a mere five.

Before I set the stage and lay out the most prominent dimensions of our current crisis, let me answer the question I ask in the title of this article, namely, can America survive this perfect storm? The answer is simple and obvious: without divine intervention, we are in big trouble. Really big trouble. Massively big trouble. We need God, desperately and urgently. Otherwise . . . well, you can fill in the blanks. Things do not look good right now. To recap the main events of 2020, we entered the year deeply divided in the midst of the impeachment hearings,...

Other shops may offer some cornhole equipment. But the game’s growing population of avid players will have to do some searching — or take the more impersonal, and unpredictable, route of going online — to find the assortment of cornhole equipment the husband-wife entrepreneurial tandem offer at their shop in west...

All the campaign talk about packing the Supreme Court, if not term limits on justices, was by design in the Democrats' election playbook to "intimidate," ... the Supreme Court was sent a message by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and the Democrat Party during the election. "And the message was: 'If you overturn this election, we will pack you, and make your Court basically meaningless." ... for why the SCOTUS refused to hear an "original jurisdiction" case put forth by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in Texas v. Pennsylvania. The Court rejected the case on "standing," but there is no...

“Many years ago, there was an Emperor who was so very fond of new clothes that he spent all his money on them. He did not trouble about his soldiers... He only went out when he had the chance to show off his new clothes. He had a different suit for each hour of the day. Most kings could be found sitting in council. It was said of the Emperor, ‘He is sitting in his wardrobe.’” So begins the 1837 children's fable, The Emperor's New Clothes, by Hans Christian Andersen. “One day, two fellows calling themselves weavers came to town....

For this year’s Hanukkah, Amir is lighting menorah candles and reciting blessings to celebrate the holiday’s eight nights, as many Jews are around the world. But he does so in secret, worried that Chinese officials will come around – as they often do on religious occasions – to enforce a ban against Judaism, pressuring him to renounce his faith. Sometimes, he’s even called in for interrogations. “Every time we celebrate, we are scared,” said Amir, not his real name as he asked not to be identified over worries of retaliation. "Whatever we do, we’re always very careful to make sure...

Source: Credit: Myra Adams: Archaeological findings thought to be Mary’s house in Nazareth, Israel. The verses we study today preface “the reason for the season” — the birth of Jesus Christ. However, months before Christmas Eve, there occurred two fascinating conversations with world-changing implications. The first is called “The Annunciation,” and the second conversation is known as “The Visitation.”The Annunciation, better known in secular culture, is recorded in the New Testament Gospel of Luke. The Christmas story begins when the angel Gabriel visits Mary — an unmarried Jewish teenager at her home in Nazareth, Israel — saying, “Greetings, you who are...

WASHINGTON - A subpoena seeking documents from Hunter Biden asked for information related to more than two dozen entities, including Ukraine gas company Burisma, according to a person familiar with a Justice Department tax investigation of President-elect Joe Biden’s son. The breadth of the subpoena, issued Tuesday, underscores the wide-angle lens prosecutors are taking as they examine the younger Biden’s finances and international business ventures. In addition to the Burisma-related request, the subpoena issued last week also seeks information on Hunter Biden’s Chinese business dealings and other financial transactions. The probe was launched in 2018, the year before his father...
