Explanation: Why do colorful cloud bands encircle Jupiter? Jupiter's top atmospheric layer is divided into light zones and dark belts that go all the way around the giant planet. It is high horizontal winds -- in excess of 300 kilometers per hour -- that cause the zones to spread out planet-wide. What causes these strong winds remains a topic of research. Replenished by upwelling gas, zonal bands are thought to include relatively opaque clouds of ammonia and water that block light from lower and darker atmospheric levels. One light-colored zone is shown in great detail in the featured vista taken...

“Sidney Powell is registered as a MILITARY LAWYER and is the only one who can prosecute TREASON at a TRIBUNAL!” So don’t let spin doctors and fake media tell you lies about the woman who is bringing down the giants in the swamp! And there are a great number of them, more than anyone could have imagined! Powell stated that the ‘New World Order’ has ‘OVERTHROWN The Republican Party’ and that the Republican Party sold its soul to the “New World Order” in return for large cash payments in the form of “enormous bribes.” Sidney Powell warned the GOP risks...

International cyber piracy is a growing threat to personal, economic, and national security. But it is not a new threat, not in essence. In the basic character of the problem that it poses to law-abiding citizens of civilized nations, piracy of intellectual resources over the Internet is the same as piracy of ships and cargo on the high seas. Both are actions of trespass and theft beyond the reach of the legal institutions that protect the victims. Like the Barbary pirates of old, cyber pirates often live in sovereign states that fail to remedy or sanction their wrongs. The Constitution...

Welcome to the new normal. The head of the World Health Organization has suggested that coronavirus restrictions will continue even after a vaccine has been made widely available. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus made the comments on Twitter after news broke of several new vaccines said to be effective in fighting COVID-19 coming closer to fruition. “Since the beginning of the #COVID19 pandemic, we knew that a vaccine would be essential for bringing the pandemic under control. But it’s important to emphasise that a vaccine will complement the other tools we have, not replace them,” said Ghebreyesus. He went on to add...

Restaurant owners say they aren’t sure how a 5 p.m. booze cutoff on one of the biggest bar nights of the year will help to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus. Already, last call for bars and eating establishments in Pennsylvania is 11 p.m. Plus, nightclubs are not permitted to operate. “It doesn’t make sense. All you’ve’ done is targeted one industry and pushed them to the brink. People are going to go somewhere else,” said Bill Kokos, owner of the Sierra Madre Saloon in Hampden Township. As part of a press conference with Pa. Gov. Tom Wolf, Health Secretary...

The presidential recount in Milwaukee and Dane counties is entering its fourth day. Unofficial results from Nov. 3 show President-elect Joe Biden ahead of President Donald Trump in Wisconsin by about 20,000 votes. Milwaukee County election officials say the recount is moving slowly because Trump’s attorneys have been constantly interrupting and challenging tens of thousands of ballots, alleging fraud and seeking to discount them. They say few votes have actually been counted and the process is falling far behind. The deadline for Wisconsin to certify its election results is Dec. 1. In this week’s Capitol Notes, WUWM’s Marti Mikkelson asked...

“As amateur philosophers and concerned citizens, how do we begin to bring society back towards standing on principles instead of allowing our collective morals to wither away. As a clerk for an Election Bureau of a heavily contested suburban County in a key swing state, I have been exposed to shameless abuse of election laws, almost to the point of outright fraud." "The most disheartening thing to see is that despite the election workers having good intentions, when presented the choice to stand against a questionable ballot and methods of gathering absentee votes with solid legal footing, the path of...

A newly blonde First lady Melania Trump on Monday celebrated the arrival of the annual White House Christmas tree. The first lady emerged alone from the North Portico of the White House around noon to accept the 18½-foot Fraser fir from a tree farm in West Virginia. “Merry Christmas,” she told reporters, ignoring a shouted question about how the president is doing.

A representative for Dominion Voting Systems on Sunday hit back at claims that the software company meddled in the election to benefit President-elect Joe Biden — stressing it was “not physically possible” for its machines to change voter selections. Michael Steel addressed claims from President Trump’s allies that Dominion’s systems — which are used for elections in parts of 28 states — switched votes to Biden, The Hill reported. “This is a nonpartisan American company. It is not physically possible for our machines to switch votes from one candidate to the other,” Steel said on Fox News’ “America’s News HQ.”...

Lachlan began to manifest, quietly, the inclinations he had gestured toward as a member of the Trinity Conservative Society. Speaking with Brooks, he described himself as “economically conservative but libertarian on people’s individual rights.” He offered an example. “I don’t smoke,” he said. “But I think taxes on cigarettes are the most outrageous example of the nanny state. It would be one thing if every penny went to researching lung cancer, but in fact it’s greedy politicians using the money to pork-barrel roads or put into the welfare state. People who want to smoke shouldn’t be burdened because of the...
