Cash-strapped locals who offer their line-sitting services on freelance marketplace TaskRabbit told The Post they’ve been charging up to $80 an hour for the service — and people are paying.

“I’ve already done this about five times already,” said one out-of-work writer as she waited in a CityMD line in Soho for someone else

This is why cases are up. Paying 80 bucks for someone to stand in line for you. I doubt these people standing in line are so sick they need a test.

As someone who spent years taking his kids to general admission rock concerts I can testify that paying people to wait in line for you was around long before the Chinese manfactured a virus in a lab then released it on the world. As someone who has also spent years taking his kids to wait in lines at various amusement parks and ski resorts I can also tell you that people willing to pay can avoid the lines by doing things like paying for a private instructor to get them to the front of the lift line, hiring a handicapped person as a prop, etc. Nobody has reinvented the wheel.

Yes, the breadth of the hypocrisy is astonishing. Cigarettes and alcohol-related deaths are acceptable because there’s tax gold in them there toxins. Meanwhile the pothead menace is endangering munchies and creasing couches everywhere as we speak. Someone do something! Ahhh!

Seriously though, those with means hiring those with few means to perform a drudge task while both parties agree to terms is freedom of commerce in action. Those who have a problem with that should go to the end of the line.
