In Wednesday’s Senate hearing on Big Tech and Section 230, both Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted that neither had any evidence that the New York Post’s reporting on Joe Biden’s knowledge of his son Hunter Biden’s foreign business deals is Russian disinformation. “For both Mr. Zuckerberg and Dorsey who censored the New York Post stories or throttle them back, do you have any evidence that the New York Post story is part of Russian disinformation or that those emails are not authentic?” Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin asked. “Do you have any information whatsoever they...

At the end of September, Public Discourse published a series of columns about voting for Trump. Or not. Mostly not. Mostly ewww. Brandon McGinley argues the usual yadda-yadda that Christians have no home in either political party. I don’t know about you, but my home is where my family lives. I don’t look for a home in a political party. But I do know which one is better for the common good, and it’s not even close. Charlie Camosy proposes that our political home is something called the American Solidarity Party. Keep in mind, Camosy is the guy who says...

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg told Congress Wednesday that the FBI warned him months ago that Facebook should be on “heightened alert” about “hack and leak operations” that could be part of a foreign disinformation campaign in the final weeks before the 2020 election. The Facebook honcho made the remarks during a Senate Commerce Committee hearing where he testified alongside Google’s Sundar Pichai and Twitter’s Jack Dorsey. “One of the threats that the FBI has alerted our company and the public to was the possibility of a hack and leak operation in the days or weeks leading up to this election,”...

The United States will permit 'Israel' to be listed on the passports of citizens born in Jerusalem, according to a report by Politico. The move, which was confirmed by a Trump Administration official, could be announced as soon as tomorrow. Until now, US passport holders born in Jerusalem could not list their country of birth as Israel even if they were born in western Jerusalem due to US policy that the status of Jerusalem was to be determined in negotiations with the Palestinian Authority. In 2015, the US Supreme Court rejected a lawsuit by parents of children born in Jerusalem...

Germany will be plunged back into lockdown with restaurants, bars and theaters closed for a month to stop the rapid spread of COVID-19, officials announced Wednesday. Chancellor Angela Merkel and the country’s 16 state governors said the partial shutdown will go into force Monday, saying it’s needed after a recent surge in new infections. “We must act, and now, to avoid an acute national health emergency,” Merkel said in a videoconference.

After Joe Biden vowed to “transition” from oil, corporate America was put on high alert. This is the same Joe Biden who previously voiced support for having fossil fuels “eliminated.” But the Biden agenda is not just a threat to the energy industry, or even Big Business in general. Bidenomics means higher taxes and more regulations for businesses large and small. In fact, small business would bear a disproportionately heavy burden under a Biden administration. One example is a $15 federal minimum wage, which Biden supported again in the debate. Grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic, small business owners are under immense...

It would be a dark winter for our country as Joe Biden predicts if “low energy” Joe were to be elected president next week, and not just because of his lack of personal vitality. His supporters’ war on our energy industry would throw our economy into a downward tailspin. Having a president who hides in his basement, and whose mind has declined to the point that he referred to his opponent as “George,” would be bad enough. Our economy would languish under Biden’s demented leadership, and our foreign enemies would exploit the vacuum in the White House. It is even worse...

The Monmouth University poll released Wednesday shows Democrats making recent gains in Georgia, with Joe Biden eking out a slim lead over President Donald Trump and Jon Ossoff knotted up against U.S. Sen. David Perdue. It’s also the latest poll that has Democrat Raphael Warnock as the clear front-runner in the chaotic special election for U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler’s seat – and it gives him a head-to-head lead over both Loeffler and U.S. Rep. Doug Collins in a likely Jan. 5 runoff.

A former Trump administration official who penned a scathing anti-Trump op-ed and book under the pen name “Anonymous” made his identify public Wednesday. Miles Taylor, a former chief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security says in a tweet: “Donald Trump is a man without character. It’s why I wrote ‘A Warning’ ... and it’s why me & my colleagues have spoken out against him (in our own names) for months. It’s time for everyone to step out of the shadows.” Taylor has been an outspoken critic of Trump’s in recent months, and he has a contributor contract on...

Boeing announced it will cut an additional 7,000 jobs as its losses continue to mount following a plunge in revenue. The aircraft maker had already announced was reducing staff by 19,000 jobs earlier this year, through a combination of voluntary and involuntary layoffs. It said Wednesday it expects to get down to about 130,000 jobs by the end of the year, which would mean an additional 7,000 job cuts, in addition to the natural attrition at the company throughout the year. In August the company had warned employees there would be additional job cuts coming, as it offered a new...

One of the burning policy issues raised for public discussion this year is the idea of expanding the U.S. Supreme Court. And with the nation’s highest court so close to impacting Roe v Wade, pro-life Americans have a lot of skin in the game. Our founding fathers demonstrated a brilliant understanding of government and the people it was designed to serve. They devised three independent but co-equal branches of government to function as a system of checks and balances. The legislative branch makes laws, and the executive branch implements the laws. Finally, when called upon, the federal courts (the judicial...

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz excoriated Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey Wednesday over his company’s flagrant censorship against conservatives. Some background Dorsey and his company have come under fire over the past months for openly censoring conservatives and conservative topics on the platform, including labeling or removing multiple posts from President Trump and his campaign the company decided were in violation of its rules. Dorsey has himself been quite open about his progressive viewpoints. Back in 2018, Dorsey shared with his nearly 5 million followers on Twitter a Medium article that essentially called for the ostracizing of Republicans and their supporters because...

The next “joys-of-life”targets in COVID-19′s sights?: Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas open houses and other traditionally indoor house parties. With new coronavirus case counts surging past springtime peaks in recent days, Pennsylvania’s state Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine earlier this week made an appeal to Pennsylvanians, as they plan for this year’s holiday season, to think seriously about hosting or attending any events with people who you don’t already live with. “Unfortunately, in this time of the global pandemic of COVID 19, as we approach the holidays, we need to rethink those gatherings. We need to think about more and more gatherings...

Source: pixabay/sathyatripodiThe international pro-life movement has taken an unprecedented step forward in defense of the right to life of the unborn. With the signing of the Geneva Consensus Declaration today, 32 governments have come together to unambiguously state: “there is no international right to abortion.” Joining forces for a groundbreaking virtual-signing event, these governments represent a consolidated resistance movement against pressure from United Nations bureaucracy and other bodies to promote a “human right” to abortion, which has ramped up significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Declaration states that there is no “international obligation on the part of States to finance or facilitate...

With regard to COVID, we are awash in unreliable or even intentionally misleading empirical claims. A neurosurgeon from D.C. who understands statistics analyzes a popular claim that is being made on behalf of mask mandates. I encountered a Washington Post figure making its way through social media, suggesting that not wearing masks is conclusively the reason for COVID spread:

A Turkish government minister has called French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo “b*stards” and “sons of b*tches” over a new satirical cartoon showing President Erdogan in his underwear. The frontpage cartoon of the magazine, which features Erdogan in his underwear looking at the bare bottom of a woman in an Islamic veil and bears the caption “in private he is very funny”, has earned the anger of the Turkish leader, who has now threatened legal action. On Wednesday, the Turkish presidency’s communications directorate released a statement on the subject of the cartoon, according to Le Monde, saying: “The necessary legal and...

It's difficult to out-Oz Dr. Oz, America's Quack, who has raked in giant piles of money by promoting pseudoscience on his TV show. But at least one person comes perilously close: Dr. Mark Hyman. Hyman is the "Dr. Oz" of nutrition. He embraces legitimate science if and only if it suits his bottom line. Otherwise, he's promoting junk science and magical thinking. To get an idea of the sort of nonsense that he spews, his website features an interview with the Food Babe, as well as his infuriatingly stupid quote, "Food isn't like medicine, it is medicine." The comma splice...
