Considering the ubiquitous portable technology of urban protesters, one might expect their behavior to be several notches above Neanderthal. Instead, the pubic temper tantrums of America's disgruntled mobs continue at an alarming pace. Even as we dare ask, "Who's in charge here?," we are afraid of the answer. Behind the troublemakers' brazenness lies the contention that dire times demand bold actions. Not that America, in their opinion, is any more systemically unacceptable now than it's ever been. Still, for a general agenda of chaos and change, this point in history seems particularly auspicious for avenging the abused. I suspect that...

Not even 24 hours after Ruth Bader Ginsburg's death, multiple media outlets were telling us that on the question of whom they prefer to replace Ginsburg on the U.S. Supreme Court, voters prefer Joe Biden to President Trump. The Fox News headline Saturday afternoon declared that "52% trust Biden over Trump on Supreme Court picks." The Fox News question on the Supreme Court was included in its regular Trump-Pence vs. Biden-Harris poll and was conducted days prior to Ginsburg's death. The Fox poll gave Biden a 52%-45% edge on whom people trust "to do a better job on ... SCOTUS...

But how cute will we find Ginsburg if she becomes incapacitated and Trump replaces her with someone like 46-year-old social conservative Amy Coney Barrett, who believes life begins at conception and doesn’t really believe the Supreme Court must uphold precedent like Roe v Wade? A 6-3 conservative majority would push the court yet further to the right and eliminate any possibility that a sitting conservative such as Chief Justice John Roberts might serve as a moderating force and occasionally join with the liberal bloc to preserve critical rights and precedent.

The fatal flaw in the idea that America is rife with racial inequality is a failure to distinguish between two kinds of equality: the equality of blacks as human beings, and the equality of their performance in the social and economic arenas. The root of so many stubborn problems in America’s inner cities have less to do with skin color than with behavior. But instead of getting to the root of the problem, academia, corporate-types, the media, Hollywood, and now professional sports have become a septic system that pipes the rotten narrative of victimhood all over the nation, forcing regular...

VIDEO Yesterday was a "Lid Day" (aka Do Nothing Day) for Joe Biden despite the fact that we are in the middle of what many people consider to be the most important election of our lifetime. Even more ridiculous the "Lid Day" came on a Saturday which is probably the best day of the week to campaign because it is on the weekend. And even more absurd than that it also happened on the day when the campaign had the bombshell of the controversy over replacing Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court. We heard about this from all...

Graham Payne-Reichert logged onto Zoom from a lawn chair in the backyard of his unofficial fraternity house, surrounded by three other members of Delta Tau Delta and a futon that had mysteriously snapped in half a few months before. He watched faces appear one by one on his screen — first his former roommate, then his Spikeball teammate, then the older fraternity brother who had put him at ease during a hard transition to American University just two years ago. It was one month after the killing of George Floyd and Payne-Reichert, vice president of his fraternity, kicked off a...

President Donald Trump's announced Saturday night that the Supreme Court nominee he plans to announce next week to fill the vacancy left by Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be a woman, spotlighting two conservative women as his potential pick. After quarantining students in their dorms for days, Gettysburg College decided to send most of its resident students home in early September. On September 4, Gettysburg College President Bob Iuliano sent a message announcing that the Pennsylvania institution would implement a "de-densification" plan, citing high rates of COVID-19 transmission. More than 1,000 students were required to move off-campus, according to Gettysburg’s administration. A limited number of students were allowed to remain on campus. Students who have research or teaching responsibilities, freshmen, and international students were given priority. A small number of students not meeting these criteria were aso allowed to...
