US Attorney from Connecticut John Durham was tapped by then Attorney General Jeff Sessions in March of 2017 to investigate then-FBI Director James Comey. According to a new book written by New York Times reporter Mike Schmidt, Sessions in March of 2017 appointed John Durham to investigate James Comey following a report by the New York Times that Comey asked the DOJ to make a statement denying Trump’s accusation that Obama wiretapped Trump Tower — but the DOJ refused....

Protests resumed once again Saturday night in Portland. A crowd of protesters gathered once again in downtown Portland on Saturday night. The group first met at South Blocks before marching to the Justice Center. Eventually, the group marched to the city hall. Antifa/BLM looted Starbucks and smashed up its windows. After walking to Portland State, they have smashed up a Chipotle. The Antifa-approved press are not recording the acts of vandalism but luckily we have a video of the vandalism that occurred at Starbucks. Sixty-seven years after he moved out of Scranton, Pa., and 47 years after he began working in Washington, D.C., Joe Biden seems to have trouble remembering that there’s an economy outside of political subsidy programs. In a Thursday night “town hall” on CNN, the former vice president was asked several times in different ways about encouraging job creation and economic growth. Each time his answer involved federal schemes to redistribute wealth. Appearing in Moosic, Pa., with CNN host Anderson Cooper, Mr. Biden couldn’t resist proposing more taxpayer subsidies even when a questioner had just finished describing a problem created by...

Beloved, Almighty God cares and His ETERNAL strength will empower us to rise and do His mighty will for His glory; even in the hardest situations of this life! May this song be a great blessing and encouragement to you in the Lord! Have FAITH in Almighty God! "Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the...

The news came as a shock in the midst of a year of unrelenting shocks, yet another jolt of massive proportions. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had died at the age of 87. That her death took place as Jews around the world had begun to observe (or were about to observe) Rosh HaShanah, the traditional Jewish New Year, was not lost on many Jewish commentators. (Heightening things even more was the fact that Rosh HaShanah this year began on the Sabbath.) Upon hearing the news of her passing, I tweeted, “The timing of the passing of Justice Ginsburg (immediately before...

Just when you thought 2020 couldn't get any crazier, Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg suddenly departs this world for, hopefully, a better one. You have to respect that anyone strong, smart, and principled enough to serve on the Supreme Court. Supreme Court justices carry a heavy burden and do so for decades longer than presidents. The Notorious RBG, as she was called, was a saint to all Democrats and a heroine to women around the world. Her colleagues called her brilliant. Can't beat that. Still, many Americans, especially Catholics, had a problem with Justice Ginsburg's staunch support for abortion....

There are certain popular words these days that, once they are pinned on a person or institution, even if there isn't a morsel of truth in it, are automatically assumed to cancel them out...permanently. Words like... Misogynist Racist Narcissist {Fill-in-the-blank} + "phobe" (Greek Φόβος: fear) Cult That last word has been on my mind a lot lately. People sling it about quite casually without, I'm glad to say, really knowing what it means. I say "glad" because their naïveté betrays that they've never been in a cult. Kudos to them. But I have been. Twice. Neither time by choice. My...

Between 1900 and 1917, waves of unprecedented terror struck Russia. Several parties professing incompatible ideologies competed (and cooperated) in causing havoc. Between 1905 and 1907, nearly 4,500 government officials and about as many private individuals were killed or injured. Between 1908 and 1910, authorities recorded 19,957 terrorist acts and revolutionary robberies, doubtless omitting many from remote areas. As the foremost historian of Russian terrorism, Anna Geifman, observes, “Robbery, extortion, and murder became more common than traffic accidents.” Anyone wearing a uniform was a candidate for a bullet to the head or sulfuric acid to the face. Country estates were burnt...

Source: The ReturnToday is the second “series within a series,” when I invite VIPs to share their favorite Bible passages with Townhall readers. The first was Vol. 9 with Harry Hargrave, President of the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., and continues now with Rabbi Jonathan Cahn. There is a specific reason why I asked Cahn to be my Bible Study “guest.” Next Saturday, September 26, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., Rabbi Cahn is co-leading an event of critical importance – “The Return: National and Global Day of Prayer and Repentance.”Many readers are familiar with Cahn, who leads...

The following letter from Col. ORR and the answer thereto are published at his suggestion: EX-SPEAKER ORR TO HON. AMOS KENDALL. ANDERSON, S.C., Aug. 16, 1860. MY DEAR SIR: I have received your favor of the 9th inst. Your age, experience and ability entitle your opinions to great weight on every reflecting mind, and I regret to learn from your letter that you dissent from my recommendation that the honor and safety of the South require its prompt secession from the Union, in the event of the election of a Black Republican to the Presidency. You say your "mind is...

As Tropical Storm Higos blew in from the Pacific, Stephen Stanek, a covert CIA operative, faced a decision. It was time to either cancel the operation he was running or go forward with it. The storm was barreling through the Philippines but was then projected to veer north and miss their area of operation. Stanek’s partner for the operation, a younger man named Michael Perich, had recently graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy. A football player at the academy, Perich was now at the beginning of his career in paramilitary operations and had just recently been trained as a scuba...

Mia Love blew it. Did not show enough love for Trump. Now Burgess Owens will have to take it back. I think he will. Love had a big future in the GOP where her good looks could showcase the party-those things count. Future Senator. Could be the Mormon voter is racist. Whatever the reason she had no business losing it. When will we learn? 12th in a series. I took off yesterday to mourn the death if Ginsberg.

The museum says the diorama has disturbed some people because of the violence depicted, and they've learned the 1860s-era taxidermy was performed with real human bones. PITTSBURGH (AP) — A Pittsburgh museum decided a dramatic diorama that has been on display for more than a century should remain out of public view while it considers ethical issues about its accuracy and appropriateness. The Carnegie Museum of Natural History has covered up the popular “Lion Attacking a Dromedary” diorama, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Thursday. “For some people of color, their traumatic experience with racialized violence leads them to see ("Lion Attacking...

According to Luke 1:36 Mary conceived in the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy. That means that our Lord was conceived in late December and born in September. Are we inadvertently celebrating His conception at Christmas instead of His birth?

When Teddy Roosevelt ascended to the presidency after the assassination of William McKinley, a big business GOP political opponent exclaimed in disgust, “Now that damned cowboy is in the White House!â€Â This same reaction was widespread among the Republican establishment when Ronald Reagan was elected president in 1980, as he was a conservative, a conservationist and yes, a cowboy. Much like TR, Reagan also celebrated the outdoors, especially the American West. His favorite poet may have been Robert Service, a big, handsome man who penned poetry about the West. Reagan could recite “The Mountain and the Lake†at an invitation. Reagan...
