First on NBCNews.com: The apparent Democratic nominee is "Abraham Lincoln compared to Donald Trump." WASHINGTON -- Indivisible, the influential progressive "resistance" group founded in the wake of President Donald Trump's election, plans to endorse Joe Biden on Monday, its founders told NBC News. The former vice president was never the group's favored candidate to take on Trump, with a February survey of its members showing that just 6 percent picked Biden among the then-crowded Democratic presidential primary field, well behind Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders. But the group's grassroots members and local chapter leaders voted overwhelmingly to support Biden, the...

Hopefully, no one will forget our debt to Rudolf Flesch. He was a great man with a great mind. Almost forty years ago, Flesch published Why Johnny STILL Can't Read, wherein he continued his crusade against Whole Word (AKA Whole Language, Sight-Words, and other aliases). In this book, Flesch attacked the Education Establishment and its counterfeit merchandise in a unique way. He pointed out that all the things the professors assert most loudly and proudly are nothing but alibis — a polite way of saying lies. Has there ever been a field, in all of human history, that could be...

One of the more worrying consequences of the coronavirus is that it looks likely to become a catalyst for deglobalisation. At the centre of this will be the decoupling of the Chinese economy with developed economies and the US in particular. The world’s three largest free economies – the European Union, the United States and Japan – are all drawing up separate plans to lure their companies out of China.European Union trade commissioner Phil Hogan has called on companies to consider moving away from China; US President Donald Trump’s top economic adviser Larry Kudlow has said the government should pay...

This is a tale, not of two cities, but of two states, and two governors. Both states began reopening their economies last week as the worst of the Chinese flu appears to be over, except for a few isolated hotspots. Both states are reopening in a similar fashion, taking baby steps rather than a full gallop. One state is Georgia, the other is Colorado. Georgia has 10.6 million people, Colorado a little more than half that number. The virus stats favor Georgia, but only by a small amount. According to the Real Clear Politics Coronavirus tracker, Georgia has 27,733 confirmed...

In St. Louis County, Missouri, this totalitarian woman reported the names of open businesses to the government. Then she hypocritically complained after her own name got published on the internet. May 4, 2020The woman in this video says she has a medical condition that makes her vulnerable to the COVID-19 virus. I don’t blame her for having this medical condition. It’s not her fault that she has this medical condition. What I do blame her for is reporting open businesses to the government. Apparently, she thinks that because she herself is sick, other people, who are healthy, should also be prevented from...

In a theme that continues to be tragically borne out with each passing day of our government’s overbearing, one-size-fits-all coronavirus pandemic response, few things these days seem to actually make any logical or scientific sense. In case you missed it, last week’s “Part I” column covered the government’s draconian response, bankrupt hospitals, and the government happily hampering any future recovery by paying people more money not to work. Stopping there, however, would have lent short shrift to the seemingly endless insane and infuriating inconsistencies of the past two months. So here are a few more, just to get your...

As New York City residents ventured outside to enjoy a sunny Saturday, police sent 1,000 officers to ensure they abided by social distancing rules that remain in place to slow the spread of the coronavirus. "This is the nicest weather we've seen this year; we encourage people to come out and enjoy this weather," Terence Monahan, Chief of Department for the New York Police Department, told NBC News. But, he reminded residents out enjoying the city's parks, "You cannot gather; you cannot barbecue. We're going to give you a summons. There's been enough warnings." He said the NYPD would have...

The exposè and analysis starts at about the 24-minute mark. (He's a preacher at a small Baptist Church in Georgia, so expect some end-times references and an altar call at the end) But don't let THAT deter you from hearing his Panic Pandemic / New World Order collusion theories

Professor Michael Levitt, who teaches structural biology at the Stanford School of Medicine, won the 2013 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for "the development of multiscale models for complex chemical systems." Ditch the fake news ==> Click here to get news you can trust sent right to your inbox. It's free! And according to Levitt, coronavirus data show that sweeping lockdown measures were an overreaction that may actually backfire. Levitt has been analyzing the COVID-19 outbreak from a statistical perspective since January and has been remarkably accurate in his predications. The data show that the outbreak never actually grew exponentially, suggesting...

Donald Trump’s most lasting legacy will be his appointments to the federal bench. In his tenure so far, the Senate has confirmed 193 judges, 51 of whom were circuit judges. All were nominated by President Trump. Indeed, President Trump and the Senate have confirmed federal appellate judges faster than any other president in U.S. history. For all judges, President Trump’s rate is the second fastest. The Senate returns to Washington next week, and on the agenda is another stellar judicial nominee, Judge Justin Walker. Walker is the quintessential Trump appointee. He’s young, he has impeccable legal credentials, and he has...

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D), frequently mentioned as a top contender for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden's running mate, said Sunday that she believes Biden's denial of a sexual assault allegation against him. "I have read a lot about this current allegation. I know Joe Biden, and I have watched his defense. And there's not a pattern that goes into this," Whitmer said on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday. "I don't believe that it's consistent with the Joe Biden that I know. And I do believe Joe, and I support Joe Biden." Tara Reade alleges that Biden pushed...

The U.S. Code makes it a felony offense, punishable by up to 20 years in prison, to knowingly alter or falsify an entry in a document with the intent to influence a federal investigation. This is comparatively a more serious offense than the false statement charge that Michael Flynn pled to, which carries a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison. Newly revealed text messages between federal agents Paige and Strzok discussing the Michael Flynn case, dating February 10, 2017, show the cheaters discussing rewriting a 302 written by another agent, trying to disguise their edits as the author's own...

I am very curious. I had heard there was going to be a big survey of potential covid-19 patients, to be released about now. 1600 patients. Big survey. It was in fact to be completed just about one week ago. Data was being compiled somewhere on the central Atlantic coast, in a college there? It should be ready to be published. Right about now.

Democratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez on Sunday brushed off calls to convene a panel to investigate former Senate staffer Tara Reade’s sexual assault allegation against Joe Biden. Biden’s record has already been subjected to a thorough review, Perez told ABC’s “This Week,” citing the vice presidential vetting process conducted by Barack Obama’s presidential campaign in 2008. “There’s been so many investigations of the vice president,” Perez said. “The most comprehensive investigation of the vice president was when he was vetted by Barack Obama in 2008.” “If Barack Obama had any indication there was an issue, Barack Obama would not...

First Read is your briefing from "Meet the Press" and the NBC Political Unit on the day's most important political stories and why they matter. WASHINGTON — A month ago, a California woman — Tara Reade — alleged that apparent Democratic nominee Joe Biden assaulted her 27 years ago when she worked for Biden in his Senate office, a charge that Biden vehemently denies. “No, it is not true. I am saying unequivocally — it never happened,” Biden said onMSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Friday morning. It's a complicated story, colored by Biden's past history of touching women (though never before in...

SAN ANTONIO — It happened early inside the cool, darkened cineplex, before Vin Diesel even had a chance to turn superhuman, as people sat munching popcorn and sipping sodas in their plush recliner seats. Someone coughed. If anyone seated nearby was alarmed, no one showed it. The cough sounded muffled: The moviegoer was wearing a mask — part of the recommended etiquette of going to the movies in the middle of a pandemic. On Saturday, three movie theaters in the San Antonio area became some of the first in the country to reopen, a move that worried some infectious-disease experts...

WORLD—Authorities in the scientific community who touted faulty COVID-19 models are "pretty confident" they know what the weather is going to be like in 100 years, sources confirmed Wednesday. "Yes, we were off by a factor of about 1 billion in our predictions for what happened over the last few months, but trust us: we know exactly what the climate is going to be like in a century," said leading scientific authority Dr. Garth Wendybrook at a press conference. "See, I have this lab coat and this Bunsen burner here." At this point, he gestured toward a Bunsen burner sitting...
