SAN ANTONIO It happened early inside the cool, darkened cineplex, before Vin Diesel even had a chance to turn superhuman, as people sat munching popcorn and sipping sodas in their plush recliner seats.
Someone coughed.
If anyone seated nearby was alarmed, no one showed it. The cough sounded muffled: The moviegoer was wearing a mask part of the recommended etiquette of going to the movies in the middle of a pandemic.
On Saturday, three movie theaters in the San Antonio area became some of the first in the country to reopen, a move that worried some infectious-disease experts but was applauded by those who bought tickets and went to the show.
Santikos Entertainment opened three theaters, offering discounted prices, a limited food menu, workers in masks and greeters who opened doors as people entered, limiting contact with door handles.
The theaters were showing older releases for $5, and at the Palladium, in an upscale shopping center called the Rim, business was steady low for a Saturday in May, but higher than what might be expected in a state still grappling with a coronavirus outbreak that has killed nearly 900 people, 48 of them in Bexar County, which includes San Antonio.
Texas took a big step out of its coronavirus lockdown Friday, allowing restaurants, malls, retail stores and some other businesses to resume operations, with strict limits on the number of patrons allowed inside.
Movie theaters, like restaurants, were allowed to seat only 25% of their listed capacity.

And when those areas "Re-Open", by this they mean more of the same.
I'll pass.
I won't go into stadiums, restaurants, or movie theaters wearing the dog collar of Globalist rule. I'll wear it to get groceries, because I have to. But if you have to "mask up", nothing is re-opened.
My wife and I went to see “The Invisible Man” at the movie theatre on Saturday in East Texas. About ten patrons there for a 4:30 PM showing. No masks worn. Very difficult to eat popcorn with a mask. We both really enjoyed the movie, I recommend it when quarantine is lifted in your area. We also went out to two of our favorite restaurants over the weekend. The 25% occupancy rule is in effect. Waitresses and hostess had on masks, and menus at both places were paper and disposable. After our germ laden hands touched them for a few minutes, the menus were torn in two to prevent reuse.
Wear XXL shirts. Most people we’ve seen have simply been pulling up the collar of their tees over their nose for an improvised “face mask”.
During a pandemic that is spread through the air, you don't have the right to spew your [possible] virus across others in places where there is no room for social distancing.
That is, unless you can show me proof you had a test and a clean bill of health in the past 24 hours, but we both know that you can't and I can't, so in tight places, we BOTH have to assume the other can be an asymptomatic carrier, sending out virus with every breath.
I don't wear a mask outside ever (I can avoid crowds and do my own distancing) but I do wear a good one in the grocery store and post office. I could get away with a basic mask, but I wear an N-95 in closed public placed near people because of folks like you, who assume it's your right to spread your possibly infected breath to everybody around you.

900 deaths, breathlessly reported. Failed to mention there are 29 million people in Texas.
How does one munch popcorn and sip soda while wearing a face mask?
LOL
I should have read the whole write up!
It would appear one can lower the mask for food!
I wear an N-95 mask in Lowes, the grocery store, or the Post Office, so you can drop the false self-righteousness and virtue signaling.
But if I didn't have to wear it, I would not. This virus is not the Black Plague or even the Spanish Flu. We are being played by the Globalists, who are using this "crisis" to implement the most intrusive and Big Brother surveillance and tracking system that humanity has ever known.

The mandatory COVID masks are a punishment, just like a choke collar. They will make them "mandatory" until we all submit to ID2020 (which I am sure you will be one of the first to get in line for).
The Globalists will soon eliminate "dirty" cash, and ID2020 is also being developed to be the world's financial transaction mechanism for everything.
You seem to enjoy your mask/slave collar. Have at it.

.
Do you think our great grandparents were stupid? Brainwashed? What?
They beat a worse pandemic without shutting down the economy. It took us a century to un-learn this simple lesson.
PS: If you are only wearing a mask because you have to in Lowes etc to gain entrance, then why do you wear an expensive N-95?
A simple bandana or home-made cotton ersatz surgical mask would beat their rule and allow you entrance.
So why the N-95?
I have bronchitis right now. My doctor told me it’s not related to Covid.
We went to an outdoor event the other day to redress our grievances with a government official. (Reopen Maryland rally with a US Congressman)
It was controlled and blocked but I certainly was coughing. I told the people I was somewhat near that it’s just bronchitis. Nobody cared.
I have to wonder about the “low occupancy” rules for certain establishments. With the economy the way it is; isn’t this just going to delay the bankruptcies briefly?
I think people will return to businesses, but once they find out they are to treated like a Leper, they’ll stop going.
Masks didn’t stop the Spanish Flu. Immunity did.
You like to keep posting that picture of people wearing masks during the Spanish Flu. Why don't you actually research the history during that time, and come back and tell me if the entire globe shut down economies, businesses, dictated the wearing of masks, and completely suspended Constitutional rights to the same degree that our "leaders" are doing now? You'll find that nothing of the sort took place (and that was a REAL epidemic, which killed an estimated 50-100 people worldwide).
And to answer your other question, I have N-95s because my wife is nurse. But, since the mask wearing is mostly silly virtue signaling, I did order bandannas from Amazon, and that's what I am going to wear.
Back to the future drive in movies bonus round you can take shoes off and rest them on dash.
Wait what?
I didn't know you were pro keeping the economy open.
Play ball!
So your wife is able to get masks for you??
My daughter is not allowed to supply the family...Someone actually was fired for taking some...
In fact I have had to buy masks for her because her lab is only able to provide surgical for non-COVID or non-TB testing...
