Comedian Chelsea Handler was hammered after she falsely suggested that President Donald Trump only exonerates or pardons white people. Handler got dragged on social media by commenters who pointed out that among the people President Trump chose this week for clemency are Angela Stanton-King, Tynice Nichole Hall, and Crystal Munoz — who are black and Native American. Two years ago, President Trump also granted clemency to Alice Johnson, who is black. President Trump enacted clemency actions on Tuesday for 11 individuals who served time for a range of crimes including drug-related offenses and white-collar fraud.

The Daegu Army garrison restricted access and imposed self-quarantine for any U.S. troops who recently attended a local church linked to a cluster of new coronavirus infections as South Korea’s infection toll surpassed 80. The top U.S. commander in South Korea also raised the risk level for the military community on the divided peninsula to moderate. U.S. Army Garrison Daegu, about 200 miles southeast of Seoul, also recommended that members of the military community avoid public places and transportation in the city, including stores, restaurants and other heavily congested areas until a trace investigation is completed. Schools on the base...

February 20 2020 Thursday of the Sixth Week in Ordinary Time Reading 1 Jas 2:1-9 My brothers and sisters, show no partiality as you adhere to the faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ. For if a man with gold rings and fine clothes comes into your assembly, and a poor person with shabby clothes also comes in, and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say, “Sit here, please,” while you say to the poor one, “Stand there,” or “Sit at my feet,” have you not made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with...

Right after tonight’s big Democratic debate, there was a general consensus on CNN that it went very badly for Michael Bloomberg. Van Jones put things the most succinctly when he said it was a “disaster” for the former New York mayor: “Bloomberg went in as the titanic — billion-dollar-machine titanic. Titanic, meet iceberg Elizabeth Warren. She took him to task in a way that I’ve never seen in a debate. She took it over, she prosecuted him. But the worst part about it is for me a lot of African-Americans are placing great hope in Bloomberg, despite the stop and...

The Boy Scouts of America have filed for bankruptcy protection. While they may survive in some revised form, smaller and weaker than before, the Boy Scouts of old, as a great institution in American life, may be no more. Frankly, they have been on a downward trajectory for some time. In a world in which consumer-electronics, from cell phones to game consoles, have taken over the entertainment options for children, modernity itself contributed greatly to the Boy Scouts’ decline. But there is a difference between a weakening and a destruction… a difference between the natural loss of popularity and a...

An anonymous group claimed it was behind the release of pigeons over the city of Las Vegas that are wearing MAGA hats and -- in at least one case -- a wig that resembles President Trump's hair. The group, calling itself Pigeons United To Interfere Now, or P.U.T.I.N., called it an "aerial protest" of Wednesday night's Democratic debate, local Fox affiliate KVVU reported. They also released a video of birds wearing the headgear, with a voiceover of dialogue from the Alfred Hitchcock film "The Birds." PIGEONS WEARING TINY COWBOY HATS POP UP IN LAS VEGAS, SPARKING CONCERN FROM ANIMAL RESCUERS...

Did anybody happen to catch the CNN post mortem on the demonicRAT debate? I couldn't tell who aksed the question but I think it might have been Fredo the Coomo, he was wondering what was wrong with the demonicRAT candidates and Van Jones said they were defective. They were not cutting the cheese.Well, obviously the solution to that problem is to draft Eric Swalwell. He's great at cutting the cheese.

"I am finding this unbelievably troubling. The worst debate I have ever seen. "All of the candidates — except one — is attacking everyone. The VERY BEST Circular Firing Squad trump could hope for... all democratic candidates bloodied. . . . . . "This is sickening, a real slug fest with everyone shouting at the top of their lungs as if the world needed a hearing aid. I almost wish I needed one so I could remove it. If these are the survivors of 9 debates, we're in worse trouble than I thought. . . . . "The goal is...

Not many people would complain about a 60-degree day in February. But this winter’s temperature spikes could mean even earlier exposure to one of spring’s downsides: potholes. Tech gurus can’t stop the weather conditions that cause asphalt to weaken and crack — eventually opening up gaping holes large enough to swallow a Goodyear tire or mess up a Jeep’s alignment. But armed with smartphones, algorithms and self-healing asphalt, they’re trying to make road maintenance a little more manageable. While some are experimenting with high-tech ways to fill the pothole once it pops up — like using a 3D printer and...

A Trump booster group released a flock of pigeons with MAGA hats glued to their heads in Las Vegas ahead of Wednesday night’s Democratic debate. They said in an apparent satirical statement that the stunt was “inspired by the 1970’s Cold War Operation, ‘Tacana’, in which the CIA explored the use of pigeons equipped with tiny cameras to spy on Soviet sites of interest.” “The project was the result of months of exhaustive research, logistical hurdles and pigeon care taking,” read the statement. They also told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the hats were attached using eyelash glue, which means...

Why doesn’t this surprise me? People lament the violence in cities that have been under one-party political rule for decades. But voters keep electing people who not only fail to make things better but also make things worse. Take Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot for example. Voters elected another cookie-cutter, anti-law and order politician, and the violence that was bad before she took office may be getting worse. But, of course it’s not her fault or the fault of bad policies. No. The fault belongs to—you guessed it—the police. Who didn’t see that one coming? No cop, that’s for sure. But...

An academic study by a trio of professors claims to have proven there is no such thing as media bias despite the fact that the same study found most journalists are much father left than the average Twitter user. In fact, a majority of journalists, based on their Twitter interactions, are somewhere to the left of Bernie Sanders. Here’s the graph showing the results:From the study: Figure 2 shows the distribution of ideological positions of journalists based on their Twitter interactions. As can be seen, journalists are dominantly liberal and often fall far to the left of Americans. A...

Canadian rail companies have announced temporary layoffs because of the ongoing protests against a natural gas pipeline which has shut down much of the country’s rail system for nearly two weeks. Today, VIA Rail announced it would lay off 1,000 workers: “Until CN Rail opens the remaining tracks for service, VIA Rail has no choice but to continue the cancellation of its services on a large part of its network,” Via Rail said in a statement. “It is with sincere regret that we must proceed with temporary employee suspensions.”Chief executive Cynthia Garneau called the service interruption due to a...

Just beaming this out there for any moderate Democrats who might be reading, in case they’re not depressed enough yet about their election prospects in the midst of Berniemania. I like to imagine them gazing at these numbers at the very moment during tonight’s debate that Joe Biden has forgotten his name or Mike Bloomberg has accused everyone in America who makes less than $250K a year of being a moron. The last time he was at 46.0 percent approval in the RCP poll of polls was February 4, 2017, exactly 15 days into his presidency. That was the honeymoon...

Priest defends ‘real Catholicism,’ traditional liturgy as best tools to restore Europe at conference Fr. William Slattery . ‘The Traditional Latin Mass and liturgy is where Catholic vanguards are born,’ said Fr. William Slattery. February 18, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – “Real Catholicism” and traditional liturgy are the best tools to bring Europe back to Christianity, a priest said last month at a Catholic conference in Ireland. Fr. William Slattery, author of a highly acclaimed book on how priests built Western Civilization, pointed out that what held “so many men and women ‘captive” for 2,000 years in Catholicism was the “thing”...

A large blue swastika and the words “white power” were spray-painted on a Jewish-owned business in Jackson, New Jersey, JTA reported on Wednesday. The business, which police declined to name, is owned by a Jewish family who lives in nearby Lakewood which has a large haredi population. The apparent vandal was captured on surveillance video, which showed a woman getting out of her vehicle and walking behind a trailer located on the property of the business, which was later vandalized, reported the Lakewood Scoop. Police did not say if the incident is being investigated as a hate crime, according to...
