Only thing is if it’s a brokered convention and Bernie is knocked out, I can totally see Bernie supporters do a 1968 Dem riot repeat. It will be a disaster for Dems and no amount of unity ticket will save them because there will be no unity. Better to take the L with Bernie and try in 2024 than to burn it down and still lose

I’ll settle for the end of the Democrats as a viable threat to the country. But I’m not gonna hold my breath.

Yep, look at the 72 playbook, they knew Nixon at the point was unbeatable, so they threw out McGovern, who was expendable.
Perhaps even then the Rats knew they could “get” Nixon in his second term, and rebuild in the meantime. Then in 76, you had a completely new person on the scene in Jimmy Carter who won.
A brokered convention is the last thing the RATS want. They have to find a way to stop Sanders by Super Tuesday. If he scores big on that day and wins a bunch of states and delegates I don’t think they’ll be able to keep him from gaining the most delegates on the way to Milwaukee!
