It’s still early, but two leading Democrats rolled out the heavy artillery today against Michael Bloomberg — usually reserved for Republicans. Both Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and primary competitor Elizabeth Warren accused Bloomberg of racism over two separate issues springboarded off of some eeeenteresting oppo-research eruptions.

The Senate on Thursday voted to pass a resolution limiting President Trump’s power to order military strikes against Iran without the approval of Congress. The bipartisan 55 to 45 vote — in which eight Republicans joined all Democrats in approving the resolution — was seen as a rebuke of Trump’s opposition to consulting Congress when making foreign policy decisions. But the measure is largely symbolic as it has been slammed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Trump, and so is not likely to garner enough Republican support to override an expected presidential veto. That would require a two-thirds majority.

BART has lost nearly 10 million night and weekend passengers in just four years at a time when the region is enthusiastically promoting a transit first philosophy. Data from the four-county rail system shows the disconnect between Bay Area transportation habits and purported Bay Area values. Illinois Governor J. B. President Donald Trump will extend his national emergency on the US-Mexico border for another year, according to a notice submitted to the Federal Register on Thursday (13 Feb 2020). China’s Huawei Technologies Co. and two of its U.S. subsidiaries were charged with racketeering and conspiracy to steal trade secrets in a new federal indictment unsealed Thursday. PHOENIX — An organization of moms against gun violence is applauding a recent decision by the Phoenix Union High School Board. The board voted unanimously last week to require the parent or guardian of the district’s 27,000 students to read and sign a gun storage safety form. "This is just an obvious thing we can do to prevent future tragedies,” said board member Lela Alston.
