Planned Parenthood is plotting its revenge against the pro-life Trump administration with some fat political donations. The abortion mill, which insists that Americans not see it as a political entity but a necessity for women’s health, has pledged millions of dollars to defeating Donald Trump in 2020. Wow that’s a lot of money for political special interest. And here we thought they were penny pinching since being forced off of Title X subsidies. The Hill reported October 9 that a Planned Parenthood super PAC “announced a $45 million electoral campaign on Wednesday to defeat President Trump and Republicans in key...

Unfortunately for us, Fox’s Empire seems to have more to say about politics than its hatred for Donald Trump. Even worse, it involves targeting and lecturing the supposedly "anti-choice," "pro-birth" mindset of pro-lifers. With this being the final season, I guess the show doesn’t care who it attacks anymore. The October 8 episode “You Broke Love” features a small scandal surrounding Tiana (Serayah), one of Empire Entertainment’s biggest stars. You see, Empire’s owner Andre (Trai Byers) recently had a harrowing experience where he nearly lost his wife and son during childbirth. By miracle, both survived, and Tiana congratulated the family...

Conservative leaflets obtained by the BBC suggest the party accepts the UK might not have left the EU by the time it has to fight an election. One says voting for The Brexit Party would mean "more delay" because Nigel Farage's party "can't deliver Brexit". The "new campaigning products", made available to agents and activists last week, also reveal some of the arguments the party may use in an election. Boris Johnson has insisted the UK will leave the EU at the end of October.

When Amy and Brady King started experimenting with how to build durable, reusable temporary housing that would be easy to transport and assemble, they were imagining a product to assist people after natural disasters such as hurricanes and floods that usually struck far from the Northwest. But their first big customer ended up being close to home and for an ongoing, social emergency — the Northwest’s homelessness crisis. Three years ago the Kings launched Pallet, an Everett, Wash. company that sells temporary shelters made of hard, plastic panels. Brady King, a contractor and trained firefighter, was inspired to tackle the...

It may have been in the 90s Friday in Livingston for the announcement of a new $175 million wood pellet plant in Sumter County, but the weather didn’t matter to Livingston Mayor Tom Tartt. “When I heard about a $100 million yearly impact, I got chill bumps,” he said. “Can you imagine what that will mean for this community?” Biofuel company Enviva Friday announced it will build a wood pellet production plant at the Port of Epes, bringing at least 85 jobs and 180 associated jobs in logging, transportation and local services to the Black Belt county. Enviva, which calls...

Even pigsties, sheep pens, and cemeteries can become meeting venues for believers – as long as it allows them to avoid questioning and inspections by the state. The Chinese authorities spare no effort in persecuting people for their religious beliefs by vigorously cracking down on “unofficial” and state-approved churches alike. Many meeting venues have been shut down, forcibly demolished, or taken over for government use. To continue their gatherings and avoid being found out, believers have to be creative and think of every possible method to practice their faith. For them, harsh environments and long distances aren’t real issues – as...

SÃO PAULO - In Brazil, most of the criticism directed towards the Synod of Bishops for the Amazon came from the government, not from members of the hierarchy. Bishop José Luís Azcona is among the minority of Brazilian prelates to raise concerns about the synod, calling the Vatican meeting’s preparatory document “weak and inconsistent.” Still, he has sought to distance his criticism from that of President Jair Bolsonaro, who he said wants to meddle in the Brazilian Church. In the past few months, the Spanish-born Azcona, bishop emeritus of the Prelature of Marajó - located in the Amazonian State of...

Artificial intelligence could be used to make your next pizza, if you order one at T-Mobile Park. A Seattle startup called Picnic has developed a machine capable of turning out hundreds of pizzas an hour. The CEO of the company said the machine can also help solve a staffing shortage in the food services industry. “You can make different pizzas, each one in a row,” said Clayton Wood, CEO of Picnic. The machine gets the pizza order from an iPad app that was developed in-house, at the company’s office and lab in Seattle’s Interbay neighborhood.

From Winnie the Pooh to Shrek, donkeys have appeared as quirky, loyal sidekicks in films and children's books for decades. Often cast as unassuming, stubborn and sometimes a little dimwitted, donkeys have a rich history as the real-life heroes of agriculture, town planning and religion. And if you look closely, all donkeys across the world, whether they are grazing in pastures or gracing the big screen, share one mysterious feature — they have a dark cross on their backs, running down their spines and across their shoulders. "They've all got them, even the dark ones. If you shaved their fur,...
