Why did Lawrence O'Donnell Retract his Trump/Russian Co-Signer Story so Hard? He had just done a Bombshell of a story that Trump had Co-signed with a Russian Oligarch and that Duetsche Bank had the documents to prove it. But now he is doing a crab walk backwards and is doing a Full Mea-Culpa which PMSNBC almost never does. What gives? Well if he was Trolled, I believe he would have done a Partial Mea-Culpa couching it in terms still snide to the President. But he's doing the full crab-walk backwards. A troll just makes up stories and PMSNBC has run...

During a contentious discussion at Monday’s Selectboard meeting, Police Chief Robert Leighton said inadequate police facilities are to blame for the escape of a suspect earlier this month. ... The Northfield station does not have any separate area to hold detainees. There are stations to handcuff suspects to the floor, but Leighton said the department “tries very hard to not treat people we arrest like animals,” adding that police try to allow detainees some mobility to use their right to a phone call or be fingerprinted.

Joe Biden defended the heartfelt war story he told a New Hampshire crowd last week as having gotten its 'essence' correct after an analysis showed it was nearly entirely fabricated, or a combination of unrelated memories. The former vice president brushed aside a Washington Post report showing he got numerous details wrong when he talked about awarding a Navy war hero the Silver Star. 'The assertion I made was there was a young man that I attempted to pin a medal on at the request of the commander and he said "I don’t want it. He died. He died." It...

Over the next day, Dorian should continue on a fairly steady northwest course. Forecast models have been consistently projecting that Dorian will make a turn toward the west-northwest on Friday, as it feels the steering effects of a westward extension of the Bermuda high and a weak upper low to its southwest. Models then keep Dorian heading west or west-northwest toward the Southeast U.S. coast, with a landfall in central Florida on Monday the most likely scenario at present.

The Supreme Court will hear a pivotal case in October on sex, gender identity, and discrimination: R.G. and G.R. Harris Funeral Homes Inc. v. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. As both sides build their cases, numerous influential organizations and individuals have filed amicus (friend of the court) briefs to aid the members of the Supreme Court in their understanding on this topic. One brief in particular stands out. ItÂ’s so powerful, it should not only persuade the Supreme Court but influence people on both sides of the transgender debate, particularly the mainstream media. There Is No Such Thing as Gender Fluidity The...

The United States is the freest, wealthiest, most tolerant society the world has ever known. Even today’s poor live lives undreamed of by royalty less than a century ago. Yet in what seems like a major disconnect from this reality, we have major politicians calling for a transformation of society. Why is this? Well, other than pandering for votes and power, which is a large part of it, there is another more basic and more dangerous process at work. And that is success breeds failure. This is a common and accurate theme in management thinking. Success breeds complacency. Success can...

MIAMI (AP) — Unsure where Hurricane Dorian is going to land over Labor Day weekend, many Florida residents faced a sense of helplessness as they prepared for what President Donald Trump said could be an “absolute monster” of a storm. “All indications are it’s going to hit very hard and it’s going to be very big,” Trump said in a video he tweeted Thursday evening, comparing Dorian to Hurricane Andrew, which devastated South Florida in 1992.The National Hurricane Center said the Category 2 storm is expected to strengthen into a potentially catastrophic Category 4 with winds of 130 mph and...

Michael Dowling is taking a stand against guns. Calling firearms a “disease” that “we’ve ignored for far too long,” the healthcare executive is urging fellow doctors and hospital administrators to take “aggressive” action against this “public health crisis.” Dowling is the president and CEO of Northwell Health, New York State’s largest health care provider and employer. He first published his stance in a blog post on Northwell Health’s website, and later took out a full-page ad in the New York Times’ national edition, according to HealthLeaders. “Gun violence is clearly a public health crisis that we’ve ignored for far too...

... The Department of Justice Inspector General just fired the first of three cruise missiles trained on Mr. Comey with devastating impact. Comey’s reaction? "Feel free to apologize to me." ... Next up will be the IG's findings regarding Comey’s truthfulness before the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court and whether he attested to false or misleading statements in order to electronically monitor a presidential campaign. ... But beyond that, Mr. Durham and his team likely will follow up on emerging indicators that Comey may have colluded with other intelligence community leaders to actually "manufacture" the justification needed for an...

The Democrats and the liberal media just cannot let Russia go. It also shows that President Donald Trump lives rent-free in their heads and that it drives them totally insane. Another thing that’s also quite clear, and it’s been this way for quite some time, is that MSNBC is just there to give progressives their daily fix. They’re meant to keep liberals from jumping off cliffs. That’s it. it’s the only way to explain host Lawrence O’Donnell’s atrocious judgment in going to air with a story that only had one source and so shoddy that he was forced to apologize (sort...

Yes, ISIS doesn’t hold large swaths of territory. Yes, we’ve pummeled them into the ground under the Trump administration. We can take a victory lap over that, but this war is far from over. This is the long war, our long war against radical Islamic terrorism. It’s fought on many fronts. It’s fought in the streets, on the Internet, and even in our backyard. In New York City, a nineteen-year-old suspect has been arrested for plotting a terror attack for ISIS. He was caught after texting undercover federal agents (via NBC News): FBI agents on Thursday arrested a 19-year-old New...

Two Chinese Catholic bishops have been ordained with the blessing of both Pope Francis and the Chinese government under a controversial new deal between Beijing and the Vatican. On Monday, Monsignor Antonio Yao Shun, 54, received the papal mandate and was consecrated as the bishop of Jining, in Inner Mongolia, Vatican News reports. His ordination, which took place at Our Lady of Rosary Cathedral, marks the first since the Vatican and Beijing signed a "Provisional Agreement" in September over bishop nominations. “I can confirm that H.E. Questions are swirling around statements Kevin O’Leary made after his boat crashed into another vessel in Canada, killing two people. The “Shark Tank” star alleged that the other boat, a larger, 13-person vessel, had no lights on at the time and that it fled the scene following the collision Saturday night on Lake Joseph in Ontario. But police had a different account. “Both vessels had left the scene and when they reached the location, both vessels were in touch with ambulance for emergency services,” said Joe Scali, spokesman for the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police, according to Global News....

Today's Quotefall Puzzle features a quote by Kim Campbell. Click puzzle (or click here) for full size rendition, then use your browser's print command to print puzzle. Note: While I post quotes from current and contemporary constitutionalst-minded individuals, sometimes I post notable quotes from total idiots, as I'm a firm believer in Rush's tactic, "illustrating absurdity by being absurd." Enjoy! Kim Campbell was Canada's Prime Minister for just a little over four months in the early nineties. In that time period, she completely revamped the ministerial levels to allow progressive (communist) inroads into the federal system. Puzzle note: Some words indicate a place...
