Donald Trump has been called the most anti-LGBT president in our history. Yet he just became the first Republican president to celebrate LGBT pride month, also calling for the decriminalization of homosexuality worldwide. Does this indicate a shift in perspectives? Not according to gay journalist Michelangelo SignorileIn an article for the Daily Beast, he claimed that, “President Trump’s Anti-LGBT Agenda Is Louder Than His Pride Message.â€Signorile wrote that, “On Friday, President Trump tweeted a message in support of Pride month, which was breathtakingly disingenuous given his administration’s systematic assault on LGBT rights.â€Indeed, he claimed, “Trump’s celebration of Pride is...

Founded in 1873 in Greensboro, North Carolina, Bennett College is one only two of historically black colleges just for women. It has been a four-year college since 1926, but in recent years it has, like so many other small, private colleges, found survival increasingly difficult. The school’s enrollment fell from 780 students in 2010 to 473 in 2017 and it posted deficits of about $1 million in 2016 and 2017. When any sort of business—educational or otherwise—finds itself in trouble, its leaders know that they had better take steps to increase revenues, cut costs, or both. Sometimes they succeed in...

Back in April, I wrote an article suggesting that President Trump consider gradually escalating tariffs against Mexico to compel that country to end the flow of illegal immigrants across our southern border. I argued that Congress and the courts will see to it that any sane migration policy that Trump pursues domestically will be sabotaged. In trade policy and foreign relations, however, President Trump has wide latitude, and he can use this leverage to force Mexico to stop the endless incursions against our sovereignty. Mexico has always been capable of doing so — it enforces its own harsh immigration...

What can be said of Christ’s being the “express image of His person”? Are not we all created in the image of God and does not this reference merely speak of Jesus as the perfect man, the one in whom the image of God has not been besmirched or corrupted? I think the text means more than that. Philip Hughes says this: “The Greek word translated ‘the very stamp bearer’ means an engraved character or the impress made by a die or a seal, as for example, on a coin; and the Greek word translated ‘nature’ denotes the very essence...

President Donald Trump, in a tweet Monday morning, encouraged customers of ATT to boycott the company to force it to make editorial changes at the CNN news network, which it owns. The president wrote as he was preparing to meet Queen Elizabeth II on a state visit to the UK. He said that after landing, the only US news network he could find to watch was CNN, which he found too negative in its coverage of the US "When the World watches @CNN, it gets a false picture of USA," he wrote. He suggested that a boycott could prompt "big...

Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx changed her explanation on Friday for her recusal from the Jussie Smollett case, as her office released more than 2,000 pages of documents on the case. Foxx said she was advised to withdraw from the case based on unfounded rumors that she was related to the "Empire" actor, who was accused of faking a hate crime against himself. That explanation conflicts with the statement her office gave in February, which said she stepped aside due to conversations she had with a Smollett relative about the investigation. [snip] In her statement on Friday, Foxx said...

Can you park e-scooters anywhere? No, and it's causing serious issues in some cities. It's led to the situation being dubbed Scootergeddon, Scooterpocalypse, and Scooter Wars. San Francisco authorities have begun confiscating illegally parked e-scooters, issuing citations, and sending out cease-and-desist orders as of April 2018. It also kicked e-scooters off the streets on 4 June, but the city doesn't want to ban them. It wants to control them. Part of the problem also stems from these e-scooter companies not following the rules or working with US cities to get permits. In Nashville, Tennessee, the city recently delivered an ultimatum...

Tennessee Valley Muzzleloading’s Fowler is just one of several excellent muzzleloading guns they make, either as finished guns ready to shoot or as kits. I have built guns from TVM’s kits before, so for this Fowler, I ordered one again. The kit I ordered is called a “TVM Kit,” which means several important steps are already done. TVM also makes the “Builders Kit” for more advanced ‘smiths where more work is needed. Getting the TVM Kit does cost a little more, about $150, and to me that is well worth it. The TVM kit for the Fowler has a base...

People who drink up to 25 cups of coffee a day don't run a greater risk of a heart attack. That's the remarkable finding from a study of over 8,000 people in the U.K., carried out by the British Heart Foundation (BHF). Previous studies have linked drinking coffee with a hardening of the arteries that pump blood from your heart to other parts of the body. If arteries become stiff, it can increase stress on the heart and raise a person's chance of having a heart attack or stroke. But the fresh research, presented Monday at the British Cardiovascular Society...

Student loan debt is getting out of control. More than 1 million people default on their student loans every year. That is 22 percent of borrowers. And the numbers are rising; 40 percent will default on their student loans by 2023. For borrowers under age 30, their average monthly payment is almost $400. Student loan debt now exceeds $1.5 trillion — surpassing both auto loan and credit card debt. It is an epidemic that will continue to get worse unless something is done.Making tuition “free,†as some Democrats recommend, isn’t the solution, since that just passes the debt along to other Americans...

President Trump had a very busy day yesterday. He played golf (which you heard about) went to a church service (which you didn’t) attended the annual Ford Theater Gala fundraiser with the FLOTUS before a quick change and departure in the late evening for his United Kingdom state visit. $4400 Gucci shirt dress that featured prints of London landmarks such as the Big Ben and the Tower Bridge Following the overnight flight, the president and First Lady arrived in London this morning to very blustery weather. First Lady Melania Trump paid homage to London, England, as she departed the White House for her and President Donald Trump’s state visit to the United Kingdom on Sunday evening. While strutting out of the White House to board her flight to the U.K., Mrs. Trump donned a creme silk midi dress by Gucci that features rich orange and green metropolis illustrations of London, including Big Ben — London’s iconic national timepiece. The details of this Gucci dress are particularly breathtaking, with the brand’s famous gold double “G” logos as the buttons juxtapositioned with the garment’s intricate drawings of London...

A 77-year-old woman was woken up in the middle of the night by what she thought was an intruder - but instead found an 11ft alligator in her kitchen. Mary Wischhusen heard a large crash at her home in Clearwater, Florida, at around 3.30am. "I had this beautiful face staring at me as though he belonged there," she told Spectrum News. "[He was] just laying there. It's like he made it all the way through the kitchen and he thought he was so smart." She said she went back to her bedroom to call the police and played games...

Leftists have expanded their war against historical monuments to include statues of one of our nation’s key founders and its third president, Thomas Jefferson. Their basis - at least in part - is the claim that the Declaration of Independence author “raped” one of his slaves, Sally Hemmings, over 200 years ago. However, even if Jefferson had a sexual relationship with Hemmings and children by her, which is now generally accepted but also legitimately disputed, the notion that the former U.S. president “raped” her is also suspect, as least in the sense that one would typically describe a forcible rape. But...
