Old School™—The Cure for Modern FollyEverything old is new again.—Peter Allen The passions of my life have converged. My interests have finally come together—Old School™ is here! It has always been in my bones. I just never saw it so clear until recently. My father was a World War II Navy veteran who went through some rough experiences in the war. He was a plumber—a simple, blue-collar guy with emotional complexities. My mother was a homemaker, as they used to call it, and I’m sure some still do. They were products of the war, and the Great Depression before it....

Clarence Thomas, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Margaret Sanger Walk Into a Segregated Bar… Justice Thomas has set two bad leftist legal principles on a collision course. By John Zmirak Published on May 29, 2019 • John Zmirak Justice Clarence Thomas made history this week. He used a routine Supreme Court decision not to review an abortion law to force us to face the truth. An ugly truth, which our elites don’t want to face. A stark truth, attested by documents and facts. An inconvenient truth, which belongs in the Memory Hole.Margaret Sanger was a violent, passionate racist. Her whole crusade for...

Social scientists who conduct research on the politically charged question of the wellbeing of children in the care of same-sex parents have emphatically asserted unqualified and universal support for the finding of “no differences.” In his meticulously researched new book, Professor Walter Schumm turns this scenario on its head. Through a detailed review of virtually all extant research, Schumm demonstrates decisively that contrary evidence not only exists, it is abundant and methodologically strong.

On February 1, two experienced Indian Air Force (IAF) pilots died when their newly upgraded Mirage 2000-I fighter crashed while taking-off in Bengaluru. A Court of Inquiry (CoI) investigating the accident is now confronting the worrying possibility of a glitch in the Mirage 2000’s flight computer that kicks in without warning, causing the aircraft to behave unpredictably. IAF flight records examined by the CoI have revealed at least four such incidents in the past. In each of these, a flying Mirage 2000 has, suddenly and without command from the pilot, jerked its nose towards the ground. Then, as spontaneously, the...

Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters (CA) completely went off the rails Tuesday and called for Trump to resign in one of her craziest tirades yet. Waters, who is one of the most corrupt lawmakers in Congress, had the nerve to accuse Trump of being a “crooked liar.” “Low life Trump – lying, crooked, tax evader, porn star fornicator – should take his ridiculous self home, resign, and free us of what we will have to do to impeach him and throw him out of office!” Waters said Tuesday in a tweet.

May 27, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — Christopher Hitchens would probably be pleased to know that nearly a decade after his death, people have not stopped talking about him. Beyond the endless speculation as to what the Hitch might have had to say about President Donald Trump (back in 2000 he wrote that Trump had “worked out how to cover 90 percent of his skull with 30 percent of his hair”), he was recently the subject of a BBC Radio 4 documentary “Remembering Christopher Hitchens,” and the filmmaker who followed Hitchens for the 2009 documentary Collision has been releasing short vignettes of...

He’s right, although all complaints about Barr’s summary ultimately have to reckon with the fact that (a) he released nearly the entire Mueller report within three weeks of its submission, (b) the baseline finding, that there wasn’t probable cause to believe Trump conspired with Russia, tore the heart out of Russiagate suspicions, and therefore (c) it’s hard to believe that Barr’s characterization of Mueller’s findings mattered much to public opinion. Nothing seems to matter much to public opinion when it comes to Trump, after all.Although I think I know what Amash would say to all of that: Who cares?...

Signing this petition shows your support for a RECALL ELECTION of the governor of the state of New Mexico, Michelle Lujan-Grisham. For her treasonous acts towards our country, our state, and it's citizens: for acting out in dangerous defiance, causing division and civil unrest; asserting authority unduly, against the Constitution of the State of New Mexico and Constitution of the United States; removing safeguards set in place by our previous governor, in compliance with the President of the United States, which were in the best interests of New Mexico residents as well as those of the United States of America,...

Say it ain’t so, Joe!As the departure of British Prime Minister Theresa May draws near, the race is on to see who will replace her at 10 Downing Street. Well… in reality, it’s probably not so much of a “race†as a reality show because nobody with the sense God gave a goat wants the job right about now. But there’s a growing consensus that it might wind up being former London Mayor and Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson. This is great news, at least if you’re a blogger looking for funny stories to write about because Boris is something...

COMPUTEX 2019, the world’s biggest computer trade show, opened in Taipei with dazzling 5G, AI & IoT, blockchain, and gaming offerings, but little interest in China. Computex, following the launch of 4G/LTE, peaked in 2012 with over 140,000 visitors inundating 1,800 exhibitors in 5,400 booths. The trade show then suffered a six-year decline as customers moved from desktops and laptops, to phablets and high-functioning smartphones. But 2019 boomed to a recovery high -- 1,685 exhibitors in 5,508 booths as China was set to launch the world’s first commercial 5G network in 2020. Although the Peoples’ Republic of China does not...

Recently, Democratic presidential contender Joe Biden said, "China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man...they can't even figure out how to deal with the fact that they have this great division between the China Sea and the mountains in the east, I mean in the west." Biden continued, "They can't figure out how they're going to deal with the corruption that exists within the system. I mean, you know, they're not bad folks, folks. But guess what: they're not. They're not competition for us." He might want to look for advice to former British prime minister Winston Churchill, who said, "You must...

Harvard University philosopher Cornel West says Democratic front-runner Joe Biden will lose black voters to President Trump if he doesn't "get off his symbolic crack pipe" and stop defending the 1994 crime law that he authored. West, a prominent left-wing activist, spoke with the Washington Examiner after Trump tweeted Monday that blacks "will not be able to vote" for politicians associated with the law, which Biden defended this month by saying it "did not generate mass incarceration." "I hope and pray he is unable to do it. But if Trump comes out strong on criminal justice reform, he is going...

ISTANBUL — Opinion polls show opposition candidate Ekrem Imamoglu pulling ahead of his rival from Turkey's ruling party in his bid to recapture the post of Istanbul mayor. He briefly held the position before electoral officials revoked his mandate and forced a new election next month.Citing technical irregularities earlier this month, the Supreme Electoral Council (YSK) canceled the results of Istanbul’s March 31 mayoral election in which Imamoglu of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) squeaked out a victory with a winning margin of just 13,729 votes out of the 8.5 million ballots cast. Of all of Islam’s conquests of Christian territory, the most symbolically significant occurred today, on May 20, 1453, when Constantinople fell. For not only was “New Rome†a living and direct extension of the ancient Roman Empire and current capital of the Christian Roman Empire (or Byzantium), but its cyclopean walls had prevented Islam from entering Europe through its eastern doorway for the previous seven centuries. On becoming Ottoman sultan, Mehmet, or Muhammad II (b. 1432, r. 1451-1481) -- “the mortal enemy of the Christians,†to quote a contemporary prelate -- made ready for war. Throughout the spring of...
