President Trump ordered federal agencies Thursday to begin enforcing existing federal rules against immigrants who end up on the public dole, telling the government to begin demanding the money be repaid by the immigrants’ sponsors. The move is aimed at legal immigrants who are generally supposed to prove they are able to sustain themselves without becoming dependent on welfare assistance. Mr. Trump, in his new directive, said a 1996 law on the subject is plenty tough, but the government has never actually followed through on what Congress wrote. ...snip In cases where immigrants do get payments, he said the people...

A U.S. judge on Thursday sharply challenged a House lawsuit to block construction of President Trump’s border wall after a senior Justice Department attorney said Congress cannot sue to enforce its constitutional power of the purse and that courts should stay out of political disputes between branches of government. The Democratic-led House filed suit in Washington on April 5 to prevent work after Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) accused the administration of “stealing from appropriated funds” by seeking to transfer $6.7 billion more for the effort than the $1.375 billion Congress approved, a shift of money from other projects lawmakers authorized....

The way actress Julianna Margulies tells her story, she’s probably lucky she didn’t wind up in an ER. The former “ER” star told “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert on Monday night that for a while she would wake up “screaming” from nightmares after Donald Trump won the presidency in 2016. Margulies recalled one dream in particular, according to the Washington Examiner. “I was in a boardroom, there was a long table, and it was just a guy who's in the Oval Office right now, sitting there and I walked in and I [was] screaming, screaming. ... I mean I was...

Thursday at her weekly press briefing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told reporters she is concerned for the well-being of President Donald Trump. Pelosi said, “We don’t want it to be partisan now, but I can only think he wasn’t up to the task of figuring out the difficult choices of how to cover the cost of infrastructure legislation that we had talked about. The president again stormed out. First pound the table, walk out the door. Next time, have the TV cameras in there while I have my say and that didn’t work for him either. And this time,...

(Washington, D.C., May 23, 2019) – U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will take several actions to assist farmers in response to trade damage from unjustified retaliation and trade disruption. President Trump directed Secretary Perdue to craft a relief strategy to support American agricultural producers while the Administration continues to work on free, fair, and reciprocal trade deals to open more markets in the long run to help American farmers compete globally. Specifically, the President has authorized USDA to provide up to $16 billion in programs, which is in line with...

Linked story: RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- Dramatic video shows the moment an F-16 pilot ejected just before his fighter jet crashed into a building near the March Air Reserve Base in Riverside County last week. The person who captured the video was driving near March Air Reserve Base on May 16 when the jet, which was armed with live ammunition needed for its NORAD alert mission, went down. A burst of flame can be seen on the left side of the shot as the pilot ejected. The jet then stays airborne for a while before the video stops as the...

Pride Month is only days away and there will be no shortage of LGBTQ-positive apparel on display. But one particular Pride-targeted shirt sent a shockwave through Twitter Thursday: Official "LGBTQ for Trump" T-shirts from the Trump-Pence campaign. Critics of the Trump administration were quick to call out what they viewed as hypocrisy on the president's part. "Trump — who banned trans troops, is against LGBT employment protections, wants ppl to be able to turn away LGBT customers, & is denying citizenship to kids of US gay couples born out of wedlock — is selling LGBTQ for Trump shirts for Pride,"...

Shortened title. Full title: EXCLUSIVE LIST: Four Different Fraudulent Steele Dossiers Were Circulated AT LEAST 20 DIFFERENT TIMES The Steele dossier without a doubt was a fraud. The fact that at least four versions of the dossier being passed around provides additional proof that the entire dossier was made up. Yesterday Congressman Devin Nunes was on Hannity and he explained that the entire Steele dossier was made up. He said: Well I know this much about Christopher Steele and his dossier. I’ve read plenty of intelligence reports. I’ve met with plenty of British officials that are in intelligence, not only...

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Thursday spoke with MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” regarding President Donald Trump’s impeachment as House Democrats continue to push for it. Schumer cautioned that the impeachment process is long and “slow moving,” but said the president will not be able to “upend it.” “The process is deep and strong, but slow-moving,” Schumer stated. “And that’s how [the Founding Fathers] wanted it and that’s how it is, but it’s worked pretty well for 220 years and I don’t think someone like Donald Trump is going to be able ultimately to upend it, as long as the...

"Where are our carriers?" is, at least apocryphally, the first question any U.S. president asks when a crisis erupts almost anywhere in the world. As tensions mounted with Iran last week as the mullahs' regime upped its attacks around the Middle East, President Trump apparently asked that question and immediately ordered the massive USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) and its escort ships to the region. And as the Associated Press correctly noted, the dispatch of the Lincoln is an accurate "barometer of tensions" between Washington and Tehran. According to some, however, the aircraft carrier is or is about to become obsolete....
