Rep. Eric Swalwell has accumulated a massive credit card debt, failed to pay off his student loans and cashed out his pension despite earning $174,000 a year since 2013. The longshot presidential candidate, who appears to have qualified for the Democratic Party debates, is unlikely to point to his personal financial management as the reason he should be the next U.S. president...

In a spirited campaign rally Monday night, a bullish President Trump called on his fervent supporters in rural Pennsylvania to mobilize for his reelection bid, telling them he could potentially serve a fifth term in the White House with their help. "We ran one time and we're '1-and-0' — but it was for the big one. Now we're going to have a second time. And we're going to have another one. You may have noticed that conservatives are blessed with an impressive lineup of intellectual heavyweights. Liberals have none, literally none. A few of those on the conservative side are Thomas Sowell, Victor Davis Hanson, Dennis Prager, Shelby Steele, Jordon Peterson, and Mark Levin. *snip* You cannot name a single liberal who has anything approaching the above credentials or intellectual output. Why? There are a number of reasons. Liberalism is fundamentally about feelings rather than thoughts. Also the left focuses on intentions, the right focuses on results and the ways by which results are achieved. An advantage of making intentions your...

This month and next dozens of universities across the nation, from private top-tier schools to public state institutions, will host segregated graduation ceremonies and celebrations for their black graduates. These supplementary ceremonies are voluntary and are offered in addition to the universities’ regular graduations. Sometimes they’re co-hosted by black campus resource centers and various academic departments. They serve to give extra honors and recognition to black students earning their degrees. The popularity in offering these segregated graduations also seems to be growing. A new report by the National Association of Scholars that looked at 173 schools found that 76 of...

To San Franciscan Chris Chin, the owner of a vape shop in the city’s Tenderloin neighborhood, the proposed e-cigarette ban being considered by city officials would be tantamount to becoming the ultimate “nanny city.” “I’ve renamed it ‘Ban Francisco’ because you can’t do anything in the city,” said Chin, whose store, Gone With the Smoke, stands to go out of business if the city enacts the proposed ban. “You can’t get a plastic straw or bag, or flavored tobacco. What’s next?” Chin’s sentiments capture an undercurrent of frustration that a city once famous for its free-spirited ethos has strayed so...

US car giant Ford has announced it will cut 7,000 jobs globally by the end of August in an effort to save costs. The plan will reduce Ford's salaried workforce by 10% and will be made through both voluntary and forced redundancies, according to the firm. It is the second major US carmaker to announce redundancies, following GM which is shedding 14,000 posts. Ford is already making cuts in Europe as part of a shake-up first revealed at the beginning of...

[Full Title: Newt Gingrich: HUD Chief Ben Carson protects poor Americans and enforces the law – Why is that a problem?] In a bold move, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson is both helping poor Americans and enforcing the law. Some in Congress may consider enforcing the law and prioritizing help for poor Americans (including people who immigrated to the U.S. legally) over help for people in the country illegally controversial or unacceptable. The solution for their position is for Congress to change the law. Until then, it is pretty hard to complain that a cabinet officer is enforcing...

Presidential hopeful Beto O’Rourke really wants to do a town hall event with Fox News, like some of his Democratic rivals. “Absolutely,” O’Rourke told reporters Monday in Iowa after he was asked if he would appear on the network. “This campaign is about going to where people are, and you see that physically in where I show up. But it also has to be in those channels or those social media streams where people get their news and their information. That also includes Fox.” O’Rourke, who said his campaign may have already begun discussions with Fox, has previously been critical...

President Trump, in between battling subpoenas and other demands from congressional committees as they ramp up their probes into his administration, on Monday urged top-ranking Democrats to shift their focus to “Crooked Hillary” and the genesis of the “phony” Russia investigation. The president even suggested House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff could boost their “credibility” by doing so. “Why are the Democrats not looking into all of the crimes committed by Crooked Hillary and the phony Russia Investigation? They would get back their credibility. Jerry Nadler, Schiff, would have a whole new future...

Fox News' host Sean Hannity told his audience Monday that a barrage of news information will be released in the coming days and weeks that will prove that "Trump-Russia collusion" was a "hoax from the get-go" and called for secret FBI transcripts to made public.
