File photo of Imran Khan. New Delhi: Maulana Fazlur Rehman Khalil, a US-designated terrorist and founder of the terrorist organisation Harkat-ul-Mujahideen (HuM), joined Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday. The announcement was made by a senior PTI leader Asad Umar on Facebook, who said that Khalil, along with several of his supporters have pledged their support to the Pakistan PM. Khalil's entry into the party comes at a time when Pakistan has called for a shut-down of offices and institutions run by the terror outfit Jamaat-ud-Dawa. He has been a strong supporter of Imran Khan and advocated for his...

On Friday, Mr. Huber, a US Attorney from Utah, sent a message to Americans — he is committed to holding offenders accountable. US Attorneys thoroughly enjoyed our time with AG Barr this week. He is a solid, proven leader with a clear vision for the @DOJ. We will move forward with his priorities, hold offenders accountable, and advance the rule of law. pic.twitter.com/cl1ApkgD7o — U.S. Attorney Huber (@USAttyHuber) March 8, 2019 Here’s what we know so far with the information that is publicly available: Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee say John Huber still has not interviewed key witnesses and...

**SNIP** At the core of their frustrations is a belief that Clinton beat Sanders fair and square and that Sanders was a sore loser. These attacks are their way of warning the American public it could happen again, leaving a divided Democratic party in the general election against Trump. “I think we are all just scarred by 2016 at large and would like to prevent that again,” one former Clinton staffer said of former aide’s attacks against Sanders. These former Clinton aides aren’t tearing apart Sanders’s current policy agenda (probably because most major Democratic candidates have essentially adopted it). They’re...

There are few people who announce their candidacy for their country’s presidency only days after being released from prison. But anti-slavery activist and slave descendant Biram Dah Abeid is an exceptional man facing exceptional circumstances. “I am from the servile community that makes up 50 per cent of the population (of Mauritania),” said Dah Obeid, a lawyer. “Twenty percent of the fifty percent have been born as property of other men. We were inherited by other people.” Abeid, a prominent and fearless anti-slavery activist who has been jailed and tortured numerous times in his struggle to abolish slavery in the...

At this point in time Captain Marvel is eyeing a $63.5M Friday, including her $20.7M Thursday night haul. That figure is just under Beauty and the Beast‘s first day of $63.77M (which turned around a $174.7M opening, the best ever in March), and under Batman v. Superman‘s Good Friday haul of $81.55M on March 25, 2016 which grossed a 3-day of $166M. Beauty and the Beast reps the top opening for March, followed by BvS, and then The Hunger Games with $152.5M, which it looks like Captain Marvel is beating. Where does this put Captain Marvel stateside? Industry estimates predict...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said this week that Texas will be “ground zero” for Democrats in 2020 and predicted that when Texas turns blue soon, it will change the country and the world. “Texas is ground zero for us in the next election,” Pelosi reportedly said at the Travis County Democratic Party’s Johnson Bentsen Richards Dinner. “When you helped win in 2018, you were doing something very patriotic for America and when we win a great Democratic victory — and it’s essential that we win the victory in 2020 — we will know that that victory was our destiny.”...

I can’t wait for the Democrat presidential debates. So many questions immediately come to mind, although I’m sure they will never be asked, considering that most of the “moderators” will be Democrat operatives with press passes — think George Stephanopoulos, Jake Tapper, Chuck Todd et al. But here are some obvious inquiries for the woke 2020 presidential field: Do you agree with U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that climate change will doom the world within 12 years? Given the fact that the U.S. has greatly reduced its carbon emissions even as China, India and much of the rest of the Third...

Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, who has been at the center of controversy all week on Capitol Hill, said Friday that a perceived criticism she gave of former President Barack Obama was the result of a reporter distorting her words. n an interview Omar gave to POLITICO Magazine, the freshman Democrat said while it is right to criticize President Donald Trump and the policies of his administration, she also feels that there are "ways that our Democratic leaders have conducted themselves within the system is not one that we are all proud of." "You know I will talk about the family...

Do blame me, I’m from Massachusetts. The commonwealth ranks as the most intolerant state in the U.S. Don’t blame me too much, though. I live in Worcester County, tied for the most tolerant county in Massachusetts. Sure, nationwide it’s in the 99th percentile, “which means,” according to the PredictWise survey, “that 1 out of every 100 counties is more prejudiced against the political ‘other.’” But at least I don’t live in Suffolk (home to the Boston Globe), Middlesex (home to Harvard and MIT), or the six other Bay State counties that rank in the 100th percentile. You see, my county,...

It may be a Ukrainian love story as complicated and dubious as the motives behind the simmering war itself: A female separatist commander and star propagandist for Russia-backed separatists defects to Kyiv to be with her Ukrainian spy lover. But she also brings word of Russian plans for a massive invasion. Moreover, she's ready to testify in The Hague to Moscow's role in alleged war crimes. Svitlana Dryuk, the notorious commander of an all-female tank crew for anti-Kyiv forces in some of the bloodiest battles of the five-year conflict, aired her allegations on Ukraine's 1+1 TV channel on March 3....

The slow collapse of Venezuela, foreseen years ago by seasoned political scientists and analysts who have watched this story play out time and again whenever countries ditch capitalism for socialism, may finally be about to climax. Reports on Thursday claimed that the once-prosperous South American oil giant is now suffering widespread blackouts, which the conspiratorial and hapless president, Nicolas Maduro, is blaming on U.S. “sabotage.” Other reports said that food stocks in the country are so low that there’s only about a week’s worth left. “The suffering people of Venezuela are about to experience the most dramatic shortages they have...

Ukraine is holding presidential and parliamentary elections at the end of March and the race is too close to call. Ukraine is a country sandwiched between Russia and Europe and is often tugged both ways by its neighbors. While Ukraine’s current government firmly sides with Europe and the West, Ukrainian politics and politicians can have deep ties to Russia, giving the vote a deeper geopolitical significance. Opinion polls show the election is too close to call and, as it stands, incumbent President Petro Poroshenko could be usurped by an actor who once played the president of Ukraine in a hit...

AOC is, for all intents and purposes, a hired actress hired by a group called by the Justice Democrats. An Indian guy from Texas, Saikat Chakrabarti, Zack Exley, plus Cenk Uygur of Young Turks fame have all been involved in getting her elected and giving her the script that she's been reciting. People behind the Bernie Sanders campaign also worked to get her elected. The video is 23.04 minutes long, but it's worth it.

Joshua Nerius became privy to his parents’ anti-vaxxer convictions only after he contracted measles himself at 30 years old. Now he’s speaking out against parents who hold similar beliefs, calling them “people who want to spread fear.” What began as a rash and high fever in the spring of 2016 was later discovered to be none other than measles— a highly contagious, and often life-threatening disease that’s become increasingly rare since the introduction of a vaccine in 1963. It was only after an emergency room doctor told Nerius his condition strongly resembled measles that Nerius asked his mother if he’d...
