After flirting with Barking Moonbat status since losing the 2004 presidential election, Waffles Kerry has officially joined the club: John Kerry has written an op-ed for the Huffington Post comparing the inaction in response to a heating planet to the inaction of President Bush before September 11th. Kerry reaches deep into the bag of global warming hysterics to uncork this piece, saying that the fate of the nation hinges upon the passing of some sort of climate change legislation. And what did he write? On August 6, 2001, President George W. Bush famously received an intelligence briefing entitled, "Bin Laden...

Obama official Mark Lloyd, the new Associate General Counsel and Chief Diversity Officer of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), has been openly critical of private media companies in Venezuela, where Lloyd believes that Marxist ruler Hugo Chavez is trying to implement a popular democracy. Lloyd, who worked as a broadcast journalist at NBC and CNN, has come under fire from Fox News Channel host Glenn Beck and Seton Motley of the Media Research Center for his stance. At the FCC, Lloyd is in a position to try to influence and control media content by making statements and issuing directives on...

It may not be Talk Like a Pirate Day, but this story is guaranteed to make you say, “Aaaaargh!” The Obama administration will pay a British distiller almost $3,000,000,000 (billion) in subsidies in order to move its operation from Puerto Rico to St. Croix in the Virgin Islands. The makers of Captain Morgan’s Spiced Rum, Diageo PLC, won’t be complaining about their booty, but the people on Puerto Rico feel pillaged — and so should American taxpayers: Under the agreement, London-based Diageo PLC will receive tax credits and other benefits worth $2.7 billion over 30 years, including the entire $165-million...

Gordon Brown was not very popular before this Lockerbie disaster, but after today his popularity will be lower than George Bush at a Code Pink convention. After the mass murderer al-Megrahi was released to die in Libya, a firestorm erupted on both sides of the Atlantic. Gordon Brown swore that there was no pressure from his government placed on Scotland to release the terrorist to make despite the evidence that the homecoming was part of a quid pro quo in an Oil Deal. Today Brown was caught in a "Chris Dodd" moment as released documents show that Scotland was against...

PPP's new survey finds the Republican leading Democrat Creigh Deeds by 7 points (Aug. 28-31, 596 RV, MoE +/- 4.0%). The survey was conducted over the last four days -- the last two days of the campaign have been filled with discussion about a graduate school thesis McDonnell wrote 20 years ago, which was reported in a front page Washington Post story on Sunday. McDonnell's favorable rating is unchanged from last month (54% down to 53%), though his unfavorable...

It was bound to happen. That is, someone was due to blame the catastrophic wildfires in California on global warming. Rep. Linda Sanchez, the Democratic congresswoman from California’s 39th Congressional District, appeared on MSNBC’s Sept. 1 “Andrea Mitchell Reports” and did just that. She told the show’s fill-in host Tamron Hall that these wildfires have increased in “magnitude” over the years. And she knew why. “Yeah, it’s really interesting because I'm a native Californian, born and raised here and periodically we would have fought wildfires when I was younger, but nothing of the magnitude that we’ve seen in the last...

Here is video of "Code Pink" leader Medea Benjamin admitting anti-ObamaCare protesters have "been effective in making this a real national debate," but she criticized what they have said because she supports a total Government take over of Health Care ("Single-Payer system"). Benjamin also slammed Obama's approach to Health Care as "stupid," saying he should be going for the "Single-Payer" system instead of a "public option," although he could settle for that if he can't get total Government-run Health Care. This video shows a few things. One, it it sad to compare the average citizens who have turned out to...

On a previous blog, the Washington Times Water Cooler reported that we contacted the National Endowment for the Arts(NEA) Yosi Sergant about an August 10th conference call invitation sent out to artists and other creative influence peddlers. When asked if the NEA sent the invitation, Mr. Sergant denied the NEA had sent the invitations to any participants for the conference call and refused to send the Washington Times a copy of the invite. AUDIO Yet, Big Hollywood's Patrick Courrielche was invited to participate in the August 10th pow-wow, and he posted the email invite from Yosi Sergant yesterday on Andrew...

Not content with the mess they created when the university threw innocent lacrosse team players to the wolves following a manifestly false accusation of group rape, Duke university has now instituted a policy for handling rape charges manifestly unfair to the accused. KC Johnson whose work in defense of the lacrosse team was outstanding, has exposed this outrage as well oin his site, Durham in Wonderland. Three Duke University students were the victims of the highest-profile fraudulent rape claim in modern American history. That fact alone should make the University particularly sensitive to the dangers of false rape allegations, and...

A Mass. State Rep. is crossing the border to buy alcohol in TAX-FREE New Hampshire! ....he was in NH purchasing alcohol instead of supporting Mass businesses and the 6.25% tax they just levied on us common folk... I guess those who pass the laws need not abide by them. You would think that after hours of testimony from Mass businesses saying how the increased tax and the alcohol tax would hurt them by causing people go to NH would have had an effect on these weasels. But, alas, it's proof again that they have no conscience and only serve their...

"As inconceivable as it may seem today, the 2012 election may end up turning on national security. Republicans would be wise to nominate someone with both toughness and experience. Under such circumstances, it's hard to think of a better candidate--assuming, of course, that he could be persuaded to run--than Richard B. Cheney."

September 01, 2009 Dear Leader to Address Youth On Community Life & Sharing Dear Leader will address the nation's youth on September 8th. Hat Tip Jay In an unprecented move, President Obama will address the nation's youth at their institutions of indoctrination. The White House even released a list of questions for the youth members to discuss before, during and after Dear Leader's blessed address, such as: • Why is it important that we listen to the President and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of congress, or the governor? Why is what they say important? During the...

Sometimes leaders lie to their followers to improve morale. People will lie to a mortally wounded person and tell the person everything will be alright. MoveOn.org, incredibly enough, is telling its supporters it is "winning" the fight to force government-run healthcare down the throats of Americans. It also keeps pushing its push poll that falsely reports that Americans support the socialist public option. Here is the group's latest email --filled with the usual lies and distortions about what the public wants-- to supporters: Dear MoveOn member,After a few weeks of health care craziness, there's good news: we're winning on the...
