Gordon Brown was not very popular before this Lockerbie disaster, but after today his popularity will be lower than George Bush at a Code Pink convention. After the mass murderer al-Megrahi was released to die in Libya, a firestorm erupted on both sides of the Atlantic. Gordon Brown swore that there was no pressure from his government placed on Scotland to release the terrorist to make despite the evidence that the homecoming was part of a quid pro quo in an Oil Deal. Today Brown was caught in a "Chris Dodd" moment as released documents show that Scotland was against the release but pressured into it by London. as described in the Times of London:
Today's near-simultaneous release of documents in London and Edinburgh, which was meant to clear the air but appears likely to make the row even worse.
Ten letters released by the UK Ministry of Justice and Foreign and Commonwealth Office appeared to back Downing Street in its insistence that no explicit pressure had been applied on the Scottish government to release or transfer al-Megrahi.
But there was plenty of evidence to suggest that the UK tacitly supported such a decision, including what appears to be a U-turn by Jack Straw, the Justice Secretary, who went back on a previous pledge to have al-Megrahi specifically excluded from a prisoner transfer agreement being negotiated with the Libyans

Brown Downed on Downing Street.
GB is a pigeon if there ever was one....
If Gordon Brown pressured Scotland, I’ll just bet Zer0 gave his approval to Brown.
That guy looks like the thing in Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
PLEASE LET IT BE SO.
Kadafi looks like a cow’s taint.
Speaking of the POTUS, there is one more mystery. For some reason the United States did not allow Great Britain to release the correspondence between Washington and London regarding the release, leading many to wonder what the “most transparent administration in history” is trying to hide.
But, but...What about “Scottish Values”????
Kadafy looks worse than a pre-rehab Keith Richards.
Of course the MSM will solve this mystery post haste through diligent pursuit of the facts and and by asking hard probing question of Gibbfoon, the PrAss Secretary. /s
You always post some website/the lid. If I go to the lid,the first thing I see is a request for money. Are you on the ins with FR to be able to do this? Just wondering. I almost never click on your articles because it just seems weird to me.
Brown is gone—next election will see a whole new group in power—a more conservative group to be sure. We can only hope.
He’ll be the first liberal to go. Obama is next, (if the election is not fixed by ACORN in ‘12).
