Yesterday was the 'seventh month, the fourth day'..and according to what I've read about Nostrodamus and his 'predictions', we are not supposed to be here, or as another 'interpretation' would have it, China was supposed to have invaded some country or another.uhhh, am I still here?Is this San Diego, Toto? Why does my speech pattern say 'birr krintung'?

GOP SENATORS FORGET FOURTH OF JULY MEANING William R. Hawkins July 2, 1999 As we approach the Fourth of July, we should all remember its purpose is to celebrate the independence of the United States. Americans broke with the British Empire in 1776 because they did not want their destiny decided overseas. A major concern of the Founding Fathers was that their assigned place in England's global-imperial economy would keep them from developing their own industry and national resources. Independence needed more than a declaration. It had to be won by blood and ...

Most of this here material is attributed to Jeff Foxworthy Your house still has the "WIDE LOAD" sign on the back. Taking your wife on a cruise means circling the Dairy Queen. You think God looks a lot like Hank Williams, Jr., and heaven looks a lot like Daytona Beach, Florida. You think the last words to The Star Spangled Banner are "Gentlemen, start your engines." Your father executes the "pull my finger" trick during Christmas dinner. You believe dual air bags refer to your wife and mother-in-law. You've got more than one brother named 'Darryl'. You think the ...

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Turkish Daily News Tue, 29 Jun 1999 Volume 1 : Number 43 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx --------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------- SIBEL UTKU Ankara - Turkish Daily News The virtual end of the Serbian rule in Kosovo does not outline a bright prospect for the nearly 20,000 Turks in the province. They believe that Albanian nationalism is more dangerous and fear reprisal and oppression. Accused of siding with the Serbs during the Kosovo crisis, the Turks are deeply concerned that once the Albanians take over the administration of the province, they will face pressure and discrimination. And their worries are not baseless. The Turkish Daily ...

WASHINGTON (AP) — A majority of Americans feel their own family's lives have gotten better at the end of the 20th century, but they are less optimistic about the country as a whole. Nearly two-thirds of the people in a new poll say their families' lives have improved since the 1950s. But fewer than half say the country as a whole is better off now and nearly one-third say it is worse. ``There's more money, but less human caring,'' said Wayne Dubrawsky, a government worker from Orchard Park, N.Y. Added Ralph Mittelstaedt, a retired Nebraska farmer: ``Life may have ...

MOSCOW, July 5 (UPI) - Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz has arrived in Moscow on a previously unannounced trip, during which he is expected to meet with senior Russian officials to discuss Moscow's efforts to lift sanctions imposed on Iraq by the U.N. Security Council. Aziz is expected to seek information from Russian officials on the recent visit to Moscow by U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan and the result of Annan's talks with Russian President Boris Yeltsin, during which the issue of Iraqi sanctions was raised. Moscow wants the sanctions lifted so as to resume lucrative commercial contacts with ...

M O S C O W (AP) NATO AND Russian negotiators resolved a dispute today over the role of Russian peacekeepers in Kosovo, clearing the way for more Russian troops to be sent to the Yugoslav province. Russian planes were likely to resume ferrying troops to Kosovo beginning Tuesday as a result of the agreement between NATO and Russian military officials, a Russian Defense Ministry spokesman said. He spoke on customary condition of anonymity. Gen. Wesley Clark, NATO's supreme commander, confirmed today in an interview with The Associated Press that the differences have been resolved. He said the Russians ...

Water World With 50,000 people on board, the world's biggest ship would certainly make waves Robert Trigaux, St. Petersbur g Times Monday, July 5, 1999 Never call Norman Nixon a small thinker. The Sarasota engineer plans to build a new city of 50,000 people, complete with parks, schools, malls, casinos, hotels, a hospital and an airport. By the way, this city will float and circle the globe every two years. Nixon's live-at-sea Freedom Ship will make the world's largest cruise ship look like a dinghy. As planned, the vessel will be nearly a mile long, four times longer than the ...

Here's the way someone like Al Gore, say, or -- worse -- Henry Kissinger, might describe the simply fascinating scientific work now going on at Stanford University: "Uh, well, my fellow Americans, a beam of 9-billion-vote electrons is being made to collide with an unequal but opposite beam of 3.1-billion-vote positrons at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center to produce B mesons, which decay in about a trillionth of a second. God bless America." By contrast, here's the way Patricia Rankin, a member of the scientific team working on this project, describes it: "We are probing why nature is not ...

I decided to break this into a new thread, since the Nolana Hill thread was getting too long. Quite a few people are still singing the praises of Independent Council Kennethy Starr. Many of these are no doubt PR operatives trying to bolster his image so that when his payoff becomes public, it won't raise too many eyebrows. Others are just refusing to accept that they have been bamboozeld on a monumental scale. Their unwillingness to accept that they have been hoodwinked becomes the goverments most potent weapon to keep the cover-up in place. Towards the end of the ...

FREEDOM Watch A look at what's new on "Project FREEDOM." ( http://www.house.gov/paul/ ) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Issued: Monday, July 5, 1999 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ A new declaration: more liberty, fewer taxes Americans work past Independence Day to pay cost of government By US Rep. Ron Paul On the fourth day of July, in 1776, a small group of men, representing 13 colonies in the far-off Americas, boldly told the most powerful nation on earth, that they were free. They declared, in radical terms both then and now, that "all men are created equal" and are endowed with certain "inalienable rights," rights that government cannot ...

This past week was not only the anniversary of the birth of our Nation, but also the 136th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, the most significant confrontation of the Civil War, and quite possibly in our country's history. On November 19, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln gave his Gettysburg Address, a dedication to those who died on the battlefield. The text of this remarkable document is still powerful and true to this day, especially in light of the challenge to our nation and our government by those who expect something for nothing. It is in this spirit that I post ...

Each thread on immigration tries to outline a reasoned defense for controls or elimination of immigration to America. Our founders fled the corruptions of Europe for something else. There is no where to flee to in 2000 AD. lets not waste time and space reminding everyone of the native populations WE displaced. I was born in 1947. Here.. The takeover took place long before that. Nothing is going to change that...and it is not, I repeat NOT relevant to OUR dilemma. I want to find a solution to MY dilemma. Me Here Now. Yeah...THAT'S RIGHT. That's what competing life forms ...

Having survived the rockets' red glare and bombs bursting in air, the original Star-Spangled Banner is now undergoing an $18-million facelift, including treatment by space-age instruments and painstaking removal of 1.7 million stitches. The three-story-high flag that flew over Fort McHenry during the War of 1812 and inspired Francis Scott Key to write what would become the national anthem has been temporarily relocated to a sterile, climate-controlled workroom at the Smithsonian Institution. As the nation celebrates the July 4th weekend, the wool flag with cotton stars is a scientific project. The flag's woolen fibers have been stretched by a 150-pound ...

Strathclyde's chief constable says he is saddened by the discovery of potentially lethal weapons on young boys during a crime crackdown. John Orr said he was also worried about the number of underage drinkers detained during the first three days of the operation, which is focusing on assaults, disorder and weapons. The force, which launched the latest phase of its high-profile Spotlight Initiative on 1 July, said 2,700 people had been searched and 36 arrested so far. Another 39 have been detained following the issuing of warrants in connection with violent crime. But most disturbing, said Mr Orr, was the ...
