One might argue in the face of the current chaos in Kosovo that Nato and the US President is either corrupt. psychotic, or totally incompetent. Some may argue it's all those things stupid. The evidence is that Nato does little if anything to protect the remaining ethnic Serbs in Kosovo who are now once again being slaughtered by the narco terrorists aka KLA and para military ethnic Albanians returning to Kososvo. When asked about the ethnic Albanian atrocities against the remaining Serbs in Kosovo Bill Clinton remarked that he "was not surprised." This has been read by some observers as ...

Original Text of Nuremberg Laws To Be Exhibited for First Time 9.32 a.m. ET (1332 GMT) June 27, 1999 By Martha Bellisle LOS ANGELES — To the surprise of Jewish scholars and theologians, a small California library announced it possesses the original text of the Nuremberg Laws, the decrees signed by Adolf Hitler that made discrimination against Jews part of Germany's national policy. The documents, which have been tucked away for more than 50 years inside a vault at Huntington Library in suburban San Marino, will go on display indefinitely beginning Tuesday at the Skirball Cultural Center, a Jewish cultural ...

Tank spurs battle in Easton Neighbors oppose M60 slated for site at VFW post By Alexander Reid, Globe Staff, 06/27/99 EASTON - Weighing more than 50 tons and outfitted with two machine guns and a cannon, the M60 battle tank is an imposing piece of military firepower. But here, in this quiet residential neighborhood in North Easton, the tank has sparked a battle between homeowners and a local veterans group over plans to display it in full public view outside a VFW post. The discontent has been building for months, but peaked in an uproar when the Pvt. George F. ...

IN an old chest of drawers in his council flat in Exeter, David Howell keeps his hoard of letters from Bill and Hillary Clinton, and Hillary's mother, Dorothy, filed in a plastic carrier bag. They are signed by the president, his wife and her mother, and carry the presidential seal of official White House stationery. But Howell, a bohemian 71-year-old poet, does not stand on ceremony. The nearest his flat comes to a presidential suite is one bedroom and a dingy bathroom: an old bag has to suffice for his correspondence with the Clinton clan. How does a former ...

Reno preparing rules to take over independent counsel's job June 24, 1999 Web posted at: 3:13 p.m. EDT (1913 GMT) WASHINGTON (AllPolitics, June 24) -- Attorney General Janet Reno said Thursday she is preparing regulations to take over the authority to appoint special prosecutors when the independent counsel law expires next week. "The attorney general should have the basic responsibility for determining when a special counsel should be appointed and the scope of the jurisdiction of the special counsel, and should be responsible for removing the special counsel if there is reason to do so." Reno said at a ...

EARLIER this month a new Labour think tank called the IPPR held a conference to endorse the government's proposals for citizenship education. The discussions were based on a report, Education for Citizenship and the Teaching of Democracy in Schools, put together by the Advisory Group on Citizenship headed by Professor Bernard Crick. Crick's innovation is to make the subject compulsory. It will be taught as a separate subject and will be introduced in stages from September 2000. What lies behind this initiative is the desire to sell politics to the disillusioned young who, the report notes, show "worrying levels ...

HOUSTON ---Saturday Evening --AllTexas News Well, boys and girls, we had a "special" guest at the George R. Brown Convention Center Gunshow, in Houston, Texas today! Yep, you guessed it by the title of this e-mail! Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee of the 18th Congressional District of Texas! Ms. Anti-Gun herself in person! Don't know who the person was who she brought with her, though. In fact, so many were so "overjoyed" to see her come to our gunshow, that they carefully watched her, and her "friend", and her moving to and fro in the gunshow. Of course, that was ...

If all Serbs are monsters as some in the West seem intent upon portraying them, why has there been no Serb-inspired terrorism against the NATO countries that led the air war? Why have no planes, buildings or hotels been blown up, no politicians kidnapped, no civilians slaughtered, all common tools of the terrorist trade the world has seen time and again? Certainly, many of us got ourselves into a high moral dudgeon over Canadian Serb protests outside the U.S. consulate in Toronto during the air war. But that, while annoying and costly given the fact taxpayers had to pay ...

Linda Tripp's infamous tapes of Monica Lewinsky are taking their show on the road -- to Maryland. A federal judge has ruled that Tripp's recordings of conversations with Monica Lewinsky must be turned over to Maryland prosecutors, clearing a potential roadblock to trying her for breaking state wiretap laws. The judge's order that Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr must turn over the recordings followed a request for the tapes by State Prosecutor Stephen Montanarelli, The (Baltimore) Sun reported Saturday. Ms. Tripp's attorney, Joe Murtha, said he will challenge any indictment brought against his client on the grounds that she is protected ...

Wonder why the First Lady, aka "the billing partner," is referenced more than thirty times in a soon to be tried indictment against her suspected Castle Grande co-conspirator, Webster Hubbell? Mainstream reporters speculate that it's because she lied when she said she did little or no legal work on the fraudulent deal. But what if she told the truth -- and instead it's her billing records that have been falsified? She wouldn't be the first Rose Law partner whose billing practices prompted questions. In fact, it was ol' Webb himself who went to the jug for creative billing on work ...

In a historic ruling wrapping up its 1998-99 term, the U.S. Supreme Court struck a mighty blow for states' rights. Five of the High Court's conservative justices -- Sandra Day O'Connor, Antonin Scalia, Anthony M. Kennedy, Clarence Thomas and Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist -- held that state governments cannot be sued in state courts by people seeking to enforce some federal ``right.'' The Constitution's ``structure and history,'' said the majority, both shields states from being sued in federal courts and makes them immune from individuals' state court lawsuits seeking to enforce a federal law. The decision kills a ...

Washington officials have trouble remembering why they are following certain policies. It was bad enough when the Clinton administration said the Cuban trade embargo would remain in effect until the island at last had democracy. The embargo had nothing to do with democracy; it was imposed decades ago to pressure Fidel Castro to compensate Americans for property that he confiscated after seizing power. Next, the administration began saying NATO had attacked Yugoslavia, and forced the Serbs out of Kosovo, to stop the killing and forced deportation of ethnic Albanians - a story that the media repeat, unattributed, daily. In ...

Let me first say what a great site this is. It will take me a while to work though all the really good writing. There has been a good deal in the media recently about legal secession and the government being too large, etc. There is a very vocal group called the League of the South which advocates a peacable dissolution of the government through secession. They maintain that secession was ALWAYS a right under the Constitution. The historical record will not support this. Certainly, if there were any question prior to the American Civil War, there is no question ...
