I'm at that age where I'm trying to determine whether or not to take social security a year early or wait until I turn 66. To that end, I called social security and asked them what my benefit will be at 65. They told me. I informed them I'm going to keep working and make far more than the $45k I'm allowed without penalty next year. The social security benefits will go directly to the savings account. I don't need it to live on. My question was, since I'll get no check for the last 3 months of this year...

Embattled former Trump White House national security adviser Michael Flynn is joining a new consulting firm, Stonington Global, which offers lobbying, public affairs and investment advisory services. The hire comes as Flynn is looking at potential jail time stemming from the special counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Last December, the former lieutenant general pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI. He is currently cooperating with Special Counsel Robert Mueller. On the same day of the announcement, Flynn faced another sentencing hearing where his lawyers pushed to speed up the process, saying Flynn is “ready to...

Shortened title. Full title: his Is Not America: Paul Manafort is Being Tortured in Solitary Confinement by Dirty Cop Mueller and His Corrupt Gang The corrupt and criminal Mueller team worked with Obama Appointed Judge Amy Berman Jackson to place President Trump’s former Campaign Manager Paul Manafort in solitary confinement. This was a conscious action to literally torture Manafort for working with Trump during the campaign. Bernard Kerik at Newsmax wrote an excellent post on why Manafort was placed in solitary confinement. According to Kerik In a very small regional jail in Warsaw, Virginia, sits Bob Mueller’s big fish, Paul...

Tears glistened on the black and purple bruises covering 91-year-old Rodolfo Rodriguez's face as he described being attacked by a group of people while going for a walk on the Fourth of July. "I can't walk anymore," Rodriguez said in Spanish. "I'm in so much pain." He'll be turning 92 in September, Rodriguez said, and he's never been hurt like this before, in a life working the fields with cattle and corn. He had traveled from Michoacan, Mexico, to visit his family in Willowbrook, California, a city in Los Angeles County, his grandson Erik Mendoza said. He makes the trip...

One hundred years ago, Allied troops readied themselves for a forgotten battle that turned the tide of World War I. Thousands of American servicemen marched through the night to position themselves for a surprise strike against the Germans. A thunderstorm raged the third week of July 1918. Other than the occasional arcs of white-hot lightning, the night was so dark that the American Marines marched with each man holding one hand on the pack of the man in front of him to avoid getting lost. They hadn’t eaten in more than a day, and the men were bone-weary. Still, they...
  • Brett Kavanaugh has been nominated. What’s the future of Roe vs. Wade?

President Trump’s nomination of D.C. circuit court Judge Brett Kavanaugh to fill the seat on the United States Supreme Court vacated by Justice Anthony Kennedy may furnish the fifth vote needed to overrule Roe v. Wade, the 1973 landmark ruling that legalized abortion in every jurisdiction of the United States. Judge Kavanaugh is a textualist who is suspicious of the kind of judicial innovation that led to the court’s ruling in Roe. That decision removed a matter of grave moral concern—about which there was and remains no public moral consensus—from the democratic process. Reversing Roe will not make abortion...

Zach, from Memphis, was diagnosed with cancer aged four and years later is in remission after treatment at St Jude's Hospital. His aunt Sherrie Hopper discovered that Mr Trump donated millions to the hospital and thanked him on Twitter for helping save Zach's life.

Like dandelions in an untreated lawn, the now infamous Russian dossier apparently multiplied in numbers — and emissaries delivering it to the FBI — the closer Donald Trump got to the White House. We know from public testimony that dossier author and former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele shared his findings with the FBI in summer and fall 2016 before he was terminated as a confidential source for inappropriate media contacts. And we learned that Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) provided a copy to the FBI after the November 2016 election — out of a sense of duty, his office says....

Manufacturing executives in the United States and other developed economies – whether involved in the production of automobiles, aircraft, trucks, or combines – agree: The single biggest threat to their operations over the next decade is a shortage of labor. The reason behind the gap relates to demographics; an oversized generation – baby boomers – is starting to retire, and not enough of the next three generations are interested in taking their place. Most people think this deficit is concentrated in skilled labor categories, and there’s no doubt that finding candidates with the right training for certain jobs is part...

More and more evidence is coming out about Bishop Alois Schwarz, the former Austrian bishop of Gurk-Klagenfurt who is now the new bishop of St. Pölten. Reports claim that he covered up for an abusive deacon and for a morally corrupt priest. The Diocese of Gurk-Klagenfurt’s new diocesan administrator is losing no time in his investigations and has now put Schwarz’ close female confidante on a leave of absence. As OnePeterFive reported at the end of June, Bishop Schwarz had come under criticism for having two intimate relationships with female companions, one of them his housekeeper, the other an employee in...

Sarah Palin is calling on Sacha Baron Cohen to donate all the profits from his upcoming Showtime series to military veterans’ groups after saying she was duped into an interview with the comedian when he pretended to be a wounded warrior. The Daily Mail reports that the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee said she unknowingly participated in an interview for what turned out to be Cohen’s just-announced satirical series, “Who is America?” “This ‘legit opportunity’ to honor American Vets and contribute to a ‘legit Showtime historical documentary’ was requested of me via a speakers bureau,” Palin said. Palin, 54, says...

n Iranian general claimed Israel is stealing rain clouds from Iran to lengthen Iran’s drought. That sounds humorous, but he actually said that! Iran’s Hatred for Israel Iran hates Israel. They are not quiet about it, and the entire world is well aware. They threaten the Jewish state constantly, and they fund other terrorist regimes who target Israel as well. Iran wants to obliterate the tiny country. The Iranian president Hassan Rouhani has blamed the West for Iran’s deteriorating economy. It is absurd that they cannot take responsibility for their own actions. Iran seems to always blame other countries for...

In the new study, the researchers dropped the full experimental set up for photocatalysis down a 120m drop tower, creating an environment similar to microgravity. As objects accelerate towards Earth in free fall, the effect of gravity diminishes as forces exerted by gravity are cancelled out by equal and opposite forces due to the acceleration. This is opposite to the G forces experienced by astronauts and fighter pilots as they accelerate in their aircraft. The researchers managed to show that it is indeed possible to split water in this environment. However, as water is split to create gas, bubbles form. Getting...

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A small-town Kansas councilwoman landed herself in more trouble after putting up a fight with deputies, according to the Atchison County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were trying to arrest Carol Fowler, 48, of Huron, Kansas, on June 29 for a failure to appear warrant. They had to use their tasers on Fowler to take her into custody and arrested her for interference with, and battery on a law enforcement officer in addition to the warrant. She was taken to jail and remained there on a $5,000 bond, according to a department spokesperson. A few days later, on...
  • Cain or Christ?...themes from 1 John

For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous. Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.( I John 3:11-15)Love...
