As one of only two people who survived 9/11 by surfing down the Twin Towers collapse, Pasquale Buzzelli has a mixture of survivor’s guilt and gratefulness. “Here
I am given this gift, and I wanted to make the most of it,” he told 60 Minutes Australia. At the same time, he struggles to make sense of why he survived and others didn’t. Perhaps it was a mixture of luck, divine intervention, and quick wits to pick a place to weather the collapse: curled up in the corner of a stairwell against two concrete walls.

India: Muslim kidnaps Australian surfer, repeatedly rapes her, gives her Qur’an and prayer rug JUL 9, 2020 3:00 PM BY ROBERT SPENCER How could Carmen Greentree’s captors encouraged her to pray and read the Qur’an? They could do this because they believed what they were doing was entirely pleasing to Allah. A
survivor of a Muslim rape gang in the UK has previously said that her rapists would quote Quran to her, and believed their actions justified by Islam. Thus it came as no surprise when Muslim migrants in France raped a girl and videoed the rape while praising Allah...

In the theatre that is modern political campaigns, there are two usual costumes: A parliamentary suit and tie, and the casual blue shirt and khaki pants. But
politicians have a third wardrobe for the hustings: Ethnic costumes. Politicians campaigning in synagogues wear Jewish yarmulkes; politicians campaigning in Sikh temples wear colourful turbans. But is there a line between showing solidarity with the cultural symbols of a new Canadian group and actually converting religions? Take a recent visit by Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau to a mosque in B.C. called the Surrey Jamia Masjid. Plenty of politicians campaign there, including NDP Leader...

Johnston was out with a small group of surfers at West Beach near Esperance, south-east of Perth, on September 21 when people ashore spotted the dark shadow looming. Other surfers managed to clear the water onto a reef after people started to honk their car horns to warn of the approaching shark, but Mr Johnston opted to stay put.

The shark came within inches of Wilkinson before deciding to dart the other way and head towards the Australian east coast. The
whole thing was caught on video via a drone that is part of an Australian shark warning system. The drone is also what alerted Wilkinson that something else was in the water with him. Officials said the shark may have been deterred from attacking Wilkinson because of the "unfamiliar touch of a leg rope" that was hanging off the board or the noise of the drone flying above.

Paul Walker could be standing tall in San Clemente thanks to some surfer bros who begged the City Council for a statue of their hero "in the midst of gnarly times." Self-proclaimed
freelance journalist Chad Kroeger made the pitch at last Tuesday's meeting, and his rationale for the 12 foot Paul statue is comedy gold ... and also, kinda touching. Chad's buddy gets up there too for some fond words on "unifying figure" Paul. Dude, we can't even describe it ... you just have to watch this.
