‘Mrs. Greene's statement about leaving the Church is as enlightening as it is saddening,’ commented Michael Hichborn, president of the Lepanto Institute.
(LifeSiteNews) – Following criticism of comments she made about the U.S. Catholic bishops, conservative firebrand U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene revealed that she was raised Catholic but left the Church “with great sorrow” when she had kids because she had concerns about the left-wing hierarchy protecting abusive priests.
“With great sorrow, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, I stopped attending Catholic Mass when I became a mother, because I realized that I could not trust the Church’s leadership to protect my children from pedophiles, and that they harbored monsters even in their own ranks,” the now-evangelical said in a lengthy statement.
The Georgia Republican was responding to the Catholic League’s Bill Donahue, who slammed her for suggesting in an interview with Church Militant’s Michael Voris that “Satan is controlling the Church.”
“The Church is not doing its job. And it’s not adhering to the teachings of Christ,” she added.
“It’s the Church leadership I was referring to when I invoked the Devil,” Greene clarified on Twitter. “Just so we’re clear, bishops, when I said ‘controlled by Satan,’ I wasn’t talking about the Catholic Church. I was talking about you.”
“The Catholic Church must throw out these monsters instead of lecturing the people its own bishops have driven away,” she continued, blasting the U.S. Catholic bishops as “some of the worst in the world” and “scheming bureaucrats in miters.” It was the “bishops’ wickedness” that drove her out of the Church, Greene said, and her own refusal to “submit the spiritual and physical livelihood of my children to these monsters.”
Greene, who is sometimes referred to as “MTG” (à la “AOC”), went on to say what many faithful Catholics who.......

Makes Sinead O'Connor look prescient.
Yes Mary & Joseph were very fruitful! :)
If they can look you square in the eye and credit the Catholic organization for the Bible, then you know you’re dealing with either ignorance beyond belief or liars. (Please remind me which writers of the books of the Bible were NOT Jewish.)
So, then, if that assertion can be made so easily, so can any other false assertions about Mary. Mary would be embarrassed by what the Catholic org has done to her precious name. Seems they forget that Mary was also a Jew.
“That whole screed about Mary and you didn’t mention the Father even once. It was God’s character through and in Jesus that made Jesus who He was, not anything He got from Mary.”
THAT IS CORRECT. He took on human flesh from Mary so that He could enter mankind, which He created. That was all He got from her. That’s it. No more than that. Mary had a very special place in history, but that’s all. She’s not a goddess, and would be horrified to know that people view her as such, her being a Jewess and a faithful believer in Messiah.
Catholics worshiping a Jewess “goddess.” Doesn’t get any more weird.
“Instead, you added paganism “
Yeah... That old mother-son as co-saviors is a very ancient pagan “doctrine” that the RC co-opted.
John 2:5 (TCENB):
“Mary accepted Jesus’ statement humbly and did not nag Him. She did, however, urge the servants to cooperate with Him if He would act soon. She did not understand what He would do or when, but she had confidence in His compassion and ability.
“She demonstrated admirable submission and faith toward Jesus. She allowed Jesus to take charge and solve the problem, and she pointed others to Jesus, not to herself.
“Previously she had approached Jesus as His mother and had received a mild rebuke. Now she approached Him as her Lord and shortly received satisfaction (cf. Matt. 15:21–28).
“ In this she provides an excellent example for us.”
That’s what Jesus did.
Gee whiz do, the Catholic Church has had over 2,000 years, to elevate Mary to full Godhead. What are they waiting for, Hell to freeze over, so purgatory is no longer needed?😀😊 I am not trying to diss Mary. She was blessed among women. What I am dissing, is the false demigoddess, that the Catholic Church has turned her into. This, I believe, would be syncretic paganism.
The worship of the queen of Heaven, was not new. I believe the children of Israel, were worshipping the queen of heaven, and God was, shall we say, highly displeased with them. Then, they pray to Mary. Not a good thing. Mary is dead, and cannot hear anyone. Not only that, but trying to reach someone who is dead, is necromancy. It is evil.
They will say, well, don’t you ask family and friends to pray for you. The answer is yes, while they are still alive on the earth. Once they assume room temperature, let them alone. Don’t try to reach them anymore. To try, is evil.
You are correct SC. Mary would be turning over in her grave, if she knew what the church tried to make her into. I doubt she will ever know. 🤗
Who was it that said, “The streets of Hell are paved with the skulls of bishops.”?
...Most notably however is Theotokos.Metmom And not one word about God.
Theotokos = GOD bearer
We of course do not get to choose our Mother – or family- but Jesus did.
Needless to remind you, mettie, Jesus IS God
Or if you were God
Did you actually read that post, mettie? Lots of words about God.
“They will say, well, don’t you ask family and friends to pray for you. The answer is yes, while they are still alive on the earth. Once they assume room temperature, let them alone.”
No joke, Mark!
I wonder if it matters when asking the dead to pray for you how close you are to their grave.
It cracks me up when someone says to pray for someone who has died. Why? Definitely pray for family and friends to be comforted, but praying for a dead guy is a waste of time and effort. What happens after death is based on a decision that person made, or didn’t make, while living.
“Hey Rome! You had ONE JOB! Teach the Gospel of Grace. Instead, you added paganism and perverted the Gospel into a false religion.”
Spot on, AMPU.
you can credit the Catholic Church for the collection of the canon that you refer to in the Bible. Note that the Ethopian Orthodox has 81 books, the Orthodox have a bit more than the Catholic and the Catholic has 73
Yet all three are part of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, so are the differing numbers of scriptural books a "problem"?
No, because there is no such thing as sola scriptura - it's not in the Bible and it's not what Jesus taught
Jesus didn't leave us a book, or collection of books -- Jesus left us a community, a Church - In Luke chapter 10 Jesus tell His Apostles that whomever hear you hears Me. In Matthew chapter 28, before ascending into Heaven, Jesus tells the Apostles that all the authority that God gave Him, he passes onto the Apostles. Jesus also told the Apostles to go out and teach the world everything that He taught and to Baptize them in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus promises to be with them until the end of the age.
The Bible is the collection of books that the Catholic Church assembled and declared these are the inspired texts that can be read at Mass. This tells us that Jesus left a Church not a book.
NOTE - assembled and declared as God breathed -- the Rabbinical Jews compiled their own version of the "Old Testament" by removing what they saw as supporting the Jesus-movement Jews (i.e. Christianity) at the Council of Jamnia
In the Book of Acts chapter 1, Peter and the rest of the Apostles meet to replace Judas as one of the 12 Apostles. The King James Bible tells us that they referred to Judas’ office as a ‘Bishopric’. The understanding from the beginning is that the Apostles hold an office that has successors.
The Book of Acts chapter 15 tells us at the Council of Jerusalem, the Apostles, and those they had appointed called presbyters (bishops), held a Council that made a decision that went against what was then considered Scripture (the Old Testament required circumcision) and gave a binding decree on all Christians. This shows that the Apostles knew that they had authority from Jesus that could bind and loose the laws of the old covenant before there was a Bible. Their decree to the Church says that it seems good to the Holy Spirit and to us …. This shows that the Church had binding authority and was protected by the Holy Spirit as Jesus promised. They sent the decree out with Paul, Barnabas and other appointed messengers, showing how the authority came from the Apostles not a private interpretation of individuals.
In 1 Timothy chapter 3 Paul tells Timothy that the Church is the Pillar and Foundation of Truth not the Bible which was still being written. In chapter 4 Paul tells Timothy to be a good minister, to teach soundly and to not neglect the gift he was given through the laying on of his hands. Paul reminds him again in 2 Timothy 1:6 "Remember the gift you received with the laying on of my hands" referring to when he made Timothy a Bishop.
Hear here! Right on, Sister! ... But then the catholicv org invented replacement theology, to elevate their org above Judaism, replacing the Jews with their org as the chosen people, falsely of course.
I never thought about that, but, I wonder if they gather around grave yards, while they call up the dead. 😀😂 I never thought of that.
Exactly.
A masterful conflation, weaving conflation of the catholic org into the truths regarding the One True Church/Ekklesia which is a spiritual body composed of ALL Believers in Whom God sent for our redemption! Typical of the deceit at the heart of Catholicism to spew this deceit so boldly..
I would like to kindly remind you that I’ve asked you more than once to never post to me. Thank you.
“But then the catholicv org invented replacement theology, to elevate their org above Judaism, replacing the Jews with their org as the chosen people, falsely of course.”
Like mostly every other cult out there, brother. Seems to be a litmus test of sorts as to how a supposed “church” treats God’s chosen people.
