Marjorie Taylor Greene: I Was Raised Catholic, but Wicked Bishops Have ‘Driven Me Away’ from the Church

‘Mrs. Greene's statement about leaving the Church is as enlightening as it is saddening,’ commented Michael Hichborn, president of the Lepanto Institute.

(LifeSiteNews) – Following criticism of comments she made about the U.S. Catholic bishops, conservative firebrand U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene revealed that she was raised Catholic but left the Church “with great sorrow” when she had kids because she had concerns about the left-wing hierarchy protecting abusive priests.

“With great sorrow, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, I stopped attending Catholic Mass when I became a mother, because I realized that I could not trust the Church’s leadership to protect my children from pedophiles, and that they harbored monsters even in their own ranks,” the now-evangelical said in a lengthy statement.

The Georgia Republican was responding to the Catholic League’s Bill Donahue, who slammed her for suggesting in an interview with Church Militant’s Michael Voris that “Satan is controlling the Church.”

“The Church is not doing its job. And it’s not adhering to the teachings of Christ,” she added.

“It’s the Church leadership I was referring to when I invoked the Devil,” Greene clarified on Twitter. “Just so we’re clear, bishops, when I said ‘controlled by Satan,’ I wasn’t talking about the Catholic Church. I was talking about you.”

“The Catholic Church must throw out these monsters instead of lecturing the people its own bishops have driven away,” she continued, blasting the U.S. Catholic bishops as “some of the worst in the world” and “scheming bureaucrats in miters.” It was the “bishops’ wickedness” that drove her out of the Church, Greene said, and her own refusal to “submit the spiritual and physical livelihood of my children to these monsters.”

Greene, who is sometimes referred to as “MTG” (à la “AOC”), went on to say what many faithful Catholics who.......

Other things in her lifestyle would also seem to point to those being reasons why she has left the church.

Same reason I left, they refused to do anything about their pedophile priest problem and made it worse by shifting them around to endanger more children.

Point out to me what was wrong in her statement? The Catholic church has been knowingly shuffling and keeping in the dark a huge amount of homosexuality within its ranks.......The current pope is not a God fearing man by any means....MONEY has allowed sin to reign in the whole body of the Catholic church...I like this woman.

Went to Catholic school until third grade. Fell away from the church when I went into the Navy. Was Anglican when my late wife worshiped that. Went back to the Catholic church a couple of years ago after 40 years. Ana now I stopped doing that. What’s important to me is between me and God. And will remain so.

Stupid. Scandalous. Tge bishops are human. The priests are a mighty get for the enemy. Of course it will go after them. It tempted Jesus himself.

The church is the magesterium, tradition and the Catechism. It was Founded by Jesus. One of His apostles betrayed Him another denied Him. He knew people would always have to fight temptation even and especially clergy

Get the sacraments, find some fellowship and forget it.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, you are still a Catholic and always will be a Catholic, even though you might be an inactive one.

Please pray to the Holy Spirit and your Guardian Angel for true guidance back to the church. All you need to do is sit down and talk with a priest.

The church is hated by the left and has long since been successfully infiltrated at the highest levels and targeted for destruction.

No, you can only wish that the apostles and NT writers were Catholic, as in reality distinctive Catholic teachings are not manifest in the only wholly inspired substantive authoritative record of what the NT church believed (which is Scripture, in particular Acts through Revelation, which best shows how the NT church understood the gospels).

The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ on the apostles. Where are you getting this mistaken information?

The pope was elected by the leadership, and which interpret RC teaching, and the views of the flock are likewise liberal (somewhate dated stats, and some links may no longer work):

those whom Rome manifestly considers members in life and in death include:

40% Roman Catholics vs. 41% Non-R.C. see abortion as "morally acceptable"; Sex between unmarried couples: 67% vs. 57%; Baby out of wedlock: 61% vs. 52%; Homosexual relations: 54% vs. 45%; Gambling: 72% vs. 59% http://www.gallup.com/poll/117154/Catholics-Similar-Mainstream-Abortion-Stem-Cells.aspx

"Please pray to the Holy Spirit and your Guardian Angel for true guidance back to the church."

And Prayer to created beings in Heaven (PTCBIH) certainly does not come from the Bible and the NT church of it. Nowhere in Scripture do we see any believers engaging in prayer to created beings in Heaven , or instructed to do so, despite the Spirit inspiring the recording of over 200 prayers by believers, and despite this being a most basic practice, and despite there always being plenty of created beings to pray to, and occasions for it since the Fall. Yet the only prayers or offerings in Scripture to anyone else in the spiritual world is by pagans, including to the only Queen of Heaven see therein.

Failing to find even one example of PTCBIH, and with instruction on who to address in prayer to Heaven only being that of to the Lord, thus you must resort to eisegetical extrapolation, presuming those in Heaven can not only hear/understand all prayers from earth, mental or oral (which only God is shown able to do), but that we are to address them, though again the Holy Spirit never mentions even one example of doing so.

Meanwhile, from what I recall, any two-way communication btwn created beings in Heaven and earth required both to somehow be present in the same location, and was not that of asking them to intercede to God for them, and was very rare.

Note that elders and angels offering prayers (Rv. 5:8; 8:4,5) in memorial - like as in Lv. 2:2,15,16; 24:7; Num. 5:15; 16:9, "an offering of memorial" cf. Num. 16:9, - is not that of them being addressed in prayer, nor does it indicate that they had heard them previously, nor is it described as being a regular postal service, but it is one of the things which is a preclude to the final judgments upon the earth, testifying to the persecutions of the saints by the devil and world that it fit to be punished.

For when "He maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble. (Psalms 9:12; cf. Genesis 4:10) and before judgment God brings forth testimony of the warrant for it, which includes the cry of those martyred souls under the altar in Rv. 6:9, and with odors representing prayer, akin to Leviticus 6:15, "burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour, even the memorial of it, unto the Lord." (Leviticus 6:15)

Nor can Prayer to created beings in Heaven be extrapolated from general commands to pray or from requests for pray from other believers on earth, for this ignores the God-ordained divisions btwn realms. Which is why Christ had to come down to this earth, while only God is shown able to hear all prayer from Heaven, which is a Divine privilege and attribute nowhere shown to be given to humans.

The only heavenly intercessor btwn man and God is said to be Jesus Christ, (1 Timothy 2:5) and by Him believers have immediate spiritual access with humble contrite boldness into the holy of holies in Heaven to pray to the Lord God, (Hebrews 10:19) while the Spirit within believers cries out “Abba, Father,” (Galatians 4:6) and not “Mama, Mother.”

And believers kneeling before a statue and praising the entity it represented in the unseen world, beseeching such for Heavenly help, and making offerings to them, and giving glory and titles and ascribing attributes to such which are never given in Scripture to created beings (except to false gods) - including having the uniquely Divine power and glory to hear and respond to virtually infinite numbers of prayers individually addressed to them - would constitute worship in Scripture.

Moses, put down those rocks! I was only engaging in hyper dulia, not adoring her. Can't you tell the difference?
