When we first got there, I checked out the line. It wasn't that long. But people were holding strange cardboard squares that said funny things like "500," "600," etc. These squares bore no relation to the number of people in line. Someone explained that they represented the number of tickets. Oh. But it didn't seem that these ghost ticket holders ever showed up. ??? Never mind . . .
There were two women near the door to the bookstore holding antiwar signs. They said "Hillary: Why did you vote for an unjust war?" That was fine. They were on the bookstore side of the street and we were on the other side. But then the police decided all protesters had to be together across the street from the bookstore. So we had lefties right in the middle of us, confusing the message.
Then one really obnoxious character decided to be the first one the people in cars saw as they passed the bookstore. Clever of her. At a fast glance it looked like an 8-person pro-Hillary demonstration, instead of 5 freepers who had broken their cookies to get there and 3 left-wing nutcases.
I thought the two groups should have been kept in separate places, but the cops did not agree with me. Thus we were all smooshed together.
We got about half and half positive and negative feedback, I would say. The Vineyard is pretty liberal. One man said, "You must be from Nantucket." So if you're planning a vacation on a Cape Cod island, make it Nantucket, not the Vineyard. We got the usual single digits, thumbs-down, and thumps-up.
It was a polite, intelligent crowd, and Martha's Vineyard is a beautiful, quaint island.
We spotted the Creamsicle-colored pantsuit with capri-length pants as the Fashion Victim exited the store, and gave her some resounding boos that completely downed out any cheers from others.
A fine finale for the last book signing. What was that slogan again? Oh yeah, We Are Everywhere.
And here are the pix:

Excellent! Thank you for doing your civic duty. Sure hope she is coming to Milwaukee soon...before the cold weather sets in...on the other hand, satan's daughter may enjoy the cold weather. :-)

Now my two cents:
The Vineyard was a horrible place to have a last book signing. I was on the road from 9:15 untill 3:50. it took me three trains, a bus and a ferry to get there. Hill probably had a chopper take her there a few days before.
On the ferry a group of people had kept looking over at me, and when we were getting off, one asked, seeing my signs, "are the Clintons here?" I responded: "well Hillary is, but Bill's probably off disgracing his marriage."
I was greeted at the ferry stop by ElectricStrawberry and RaceBannon. I've been to countless FReeps with ElectricStrawberry and had met Race once before at a Boston peace rally.
I brought two flags and six signs (I knew electricStrawberry wasn't bringing any because he took his motorcycle). Signs were:
Hillary is here hide the silverware
liar liar pantsuit on fire
do you know where Bill is?
the ice queen cometh, but where's the vice king?
honk if you hate Hillary
scrape the bottom, vote for rodham
I spent most of the time in Dr. Raoul's Rodham Hussein costume. it was a Hillary mask, a red beret, and a camo jacket with the rank insignia of three orange stars and two peace signs with a red backround. yes, it was hot as hell (not because i had a devil on both sides of me). A few people asked to have their picture taken with my, I gladly accepted.
Throughout the FReep, Race, while in the Satan mask, had been antagonizing some of the female passer-by's. he would say "looking good ladies. Are you enjoying that ice-cream? they don't sell ice-cream where i'm from." It was all in good fun, most of the women laughed and none seemed offended.
Doctor Raoul had the funniest sign: Elect Winnie the Pooh for Prez, no pants and caught with some honey
The anti-war activists that were there were gone in a few minutes, i dont even think they stayed untill Hillary got there. The pro-Hillary women was antagonizing us a bit, and got firebrand really mad. ElecricStrawberry pointed out that if you close you're eyes, her shrieking really sounds like Hillary (which it did). she was gone in about twenty minutes.
All in all it was a good FReep. the only bad part of the day was missing the Pat's game (i saw the highlights, though). The FReeping chapters were well respresented: Race came from Connectitcut; Dr. Raoul (and i beleive Firebrand) came from Pennsylvania; Myself and ElectricStrawberry reign from the MA chapter.
Lastly i would like to thank Hillary for disgracing her marriage, disgracing the state of New York, and disgracing the presidency. It gave us ammunition for our FReeping signs.

The pictures go from last to first, it never occurred to me to turn the camera 90 degrees, and, well, you supply the rest. My first photo attempt and my Webshots debut.

Yes my T-shirt read "smash the reds." it's just one of my slue of politically motivated t-shirts (everything from "peace through superior firepower," which i wore at the harvard square signing, to "France Sucks."
RaceBannon also had a great t-shirt: "Sore Loserman 2000"

I told the bride over a week ago that Bill would be on island with the Queen and they'd sleaze a free weekend with some butt-munch. It's their nature.

Yippee for the forces of good!
On the signs with the numbers, wonder if these were ticket scalpers?
The idea is appalling, though.

This is great! I love how the devil and Hillary keep showing up everywhere she goes in the country! LOL. The scenery is just so quaint, and so New Englandie, if I may make up a word! Loved the pics!
