We're Almost There: First Quarter '03 FReepathon Now Underway .. Thread 7

.... ...
The Free Republic first quarter '03 FReepathon is now underway!

Our goal for this fundraiser is the same as last quarter: $65,000. We have about $4,000 per month coming in from monthly donors so we will need to raise approx $53,000 to hit the target.
The funds raised through these fundraisers are used to pay our operating costs. Free Republic operates on an approximate $260,000 annual budget (breakdown here) and all funds are provided by donations from FReepers and Lurkers.

Thank you all very much for your continued support.
P.S. We are planning to make FreeRepublic.com email addresses available as a thank you to all who donate at least once per year. This new feature should be ready to go within a few days. We will post a notice and a link for donors to setup their FR email address as soon as it's ready.
Donate to FR and help us keep the lights on for the best political forum on the NET!

We need some graphic artist to replace the dog with pistol being held to its head with a picture of Snuggles.

This gal had a big GMC SUV that she drove to work and haul her Bass Boat around on the weekends. One of my sons complained that she only had sons and no daughters. He wanted a wife like her. He is still looking.

Snuggles would never go voluntarily..... he is a good little conservative, he values his freedom and his right to *bear* arms.

You are upping the stakes again? First it was $65,000.00 then it was 100 monthly donors and now it is hundreds?

:Sniff: We will never get Snuggles back!

mystery the CTB (Council of Bears) has called an emergency session. We must consider what this is doing to Human and Teddy Bear relations. For over 100 years we have cared for young human cubs, bravely fighting monsters under beds and in closets. No boogieman has ever gotten a child on our watch and we have lost track of how many "things that go bump in the night" we have destroyed. Much stuffing has been shed, button eyes lost and limbs pulled off and yet we have never wavered in our duty.

But never before has a bear been taken and then held after the ransom has been paid.

This is serious. Even Smoky, who was a part of the fundraiser, has said that they have gone too far.

Positive. This top secret communication was intercepted by our agents:

make sure that the guys are all in place before moving Snuggles. I don't want ANY slip-ups this time. And please, STRAP THE STUPID ANIMAL IN the van this time. That last move we made, when it fell out of the van was too risky.

Snuggles obviously tried to make a dash for freedom. I have no doubt he went with them willingly at first; they might have used a small child to lure him. But Snuggles would never have stayed with them so long and not called his mother. He is a very good bear if a bit dim.
