DeSantis will win big.
Mike Pence
Please clap
It doesn’t matter much who will win the GOP nomination in 2024. Just as it doesn’t matter much who will win the Constitutional Party nomination in 2024.
All that matters is which conservative has the best chance to win the general election in 2024. So that’s where my focus will be. As of now, I think DeSantis has the best chance. And so I will support him. But it’s very early. Everything could change tomorrow.
Well said.
You summed it up for me. Or as Rush used to say, “dittos”.
The recent polls shows movement towards DeSantis and a decline in support for Trump
I have held my nose and pulled the lever many times, but I don’t think I can do it for Pence...even with a vomit bag.
I think Mitt Romney. He gets the best press among all Republicans. Could change we’ll see
That's a winning bumper sticker slogan, or meme.
OHN, we are NOT Europe, enough already with the breathless, endless, election cycle polling/manipulations!
I will regain interest in a little over a year from now.
Who knows? Maybe Mitt Romney does have the best chance against a Democrat in 2024. But as I noted earlier, in the primaries I will support the conservative who has the best chance of winning the general election.
But Mitt Romney is no conservative.
All fake;another arrow at Trump. Trump has staked positions on many controversial issues nationwide for 7 years. From Paris accord, to banning Trans from the military, banning travel from hot bed countries, massive tariffs just to name a few. He’s been impeached twice, had his home raided, a network dedicated a few months to a story about him and a porn star and they created a special committee to tell America that he tried to start an insurrection and over throw the government. The committee was broadcasted nationwide for a month. On the other hand his opponents get glowing reviews on how they are so much nicer, smarter and better looking than Trump. That is just a little bit skewed I’d say. Btw, with all that Trump has refused to turn on the people and do their bidding. Sometimes you have to discern when you have a real ally as a citizen. In Trump’s case, it’s really not hard.
Really, a few years ago I was told, on this very forum, that he was VERY conservative and had the beat chance of beating Obama. After that I was told that Jeb was a very conservative Governor, 2 terms, much more conservative than his brother. Anyone not in their twenties has probably heard it all before.
Trump will certainly get my vote against Biden round 2 in the presidential final.
My fear is he won’t get the independents and it will be the same result as 2020. (Yes I already know some will say it was stolen…. What’s to keep them from that again?)
It'll be worse than 2020. Time to move on. Yes he was a great President. But he is not going to get elected again.
Yes, you make a good point. Democrats are what they are. Bernie Sanders calls himself a socialist. And by golly, he is a socialist.
But unfortunately that’s not true with Republicans. For example, George W. Bush sold himself as a “compassionate conservative”. And he turned out to be just another globalist warmonger.
I think Trump is the real deal, as is DeSantis. But I would not be a bit surprised if either one let me down. Caveat emptor.
