Burden of proof is on the state.. not the defendant. Not testifying as a defendant is not cowardice.
This trial was never going to be fair. Had the fake president calling for a particular verdict. Had congressmen calling for riots if they didn’t get verdict they wanted.
Absolutely no chance at a fair trial.
Whether guilty or not, there was no chance he was going to get a fair trial
U took the words right out of my head. I’ve been sitting here hoping to God that some people get their throat slit in front of their children and burned alive while the 911 operator has them on hold.
A lot of these black guys that resist are on parole. Police contact for a little thing can mean years in prison. The guy that fell asleep drunk in the Wendy’s drive through in Atlanta, then grabbed a taser and ran, for instance. The lastone, Daunte...failure to appear warrant. That’s how a lot of them get started. Court date comes up and they’re high or haven’t arranged to be in court. Bench warrant issued, and the next time a cop stops them, it’s off to jail. Some of them run...which in many jurisdictions is a felony. Minor stupidity has snowballed into a felony stop, and God help you if a cop feels threatened.
