Over the weekend, The Daily Wire had the opportunity to speak with Kendal Unruh, a member of the Colorado Republican delegation to the Republican National Convention. Unruh is also a member of the Rules Committee at the RNC, and a leading advocate for a vote that would unbind the delegates from the candidates to which their state primaries are pledged.
Unruh explained that "28 committee members are required to pass a minority report, which then goes to the convention floor for all delegates to vote on. It then requires a simple majority to pass." She added that she does "have the 28 votes required for the minority report," continuing, "Not everyone who is with us is willing to be public yet, due in part to the threats being made by Trump's campaign and the RNC itself."

More bullsh*t from a voterless state!
Spoken like a true loser!
The sour-grapes whinery coalition better hope they fail.
If they succeed, they will set a dangerous new precedent for future Republican primaries and candidacies. Their win would basically negate the entire primary system and candidacies. The party elites would be the ones selecting the nominee.
That has really worked great in the past: Dole, McCain, Romney are the results of party elites selecting the nominee.
+1
Trump got nearly 14 million votes in the primaries.
If the Dump Trump movement does succeed, most of those 14 million are not going to be voting for a GOPestablishment selectee.
But, the GOPestablishment don’t really care. They want the status quo and they see that more with a Clinton presidency. They think that, if she wins, they win. If Trump wins, they lose.
They have disguised themselves for years. They are less interested in being national leaders than in being close to the power structure and money tree.
If they do Drump Trump, they will also likely lose the Senate. They have 24 seats up this time. A swing of just about 5 seats would send Mitch to the Minority Office. Then, in 2018 they would likely lose the House.
But, as long as they still get their turn at the money trough, they are satisfied.
If a prez Hillary got a majority Senate and House, her actions would make Obama’s first two years seem irrelevant. Gone would be most of the Bill of Rights and a sway that would keep the Democrats in power for decades.
:: immediately pack the car and descend on them like nothing they have ever seen ::
I’m in West Texas and I’m “all-in” for this. I believe this could be very effective. I can be in Cleve-burg in 2 days.
Yet, how do we “rally the troops” for this type of effort?
Social media is fine but a large number of conservatives (like me) do not use social media. We need some other outlet to round-up the enraged. And, we ain’t got much time to set up our battalion.
Daisy-chains, or...
Daisy-cutters?
Get a link to her email address and facebook page and shower her with traditional FREEper “greetings”!!!
Trump will be the nom. Sore loser Cruzers are tantruming now to keep the GOP divided and throw the election to Hillary so Cruz can run again in 2020. How principled and conservative of them.
thanks for the comforting words, Georgia Girl 2.
I understand Fox reported this morning that the odds of this sabotage going succeeding are slim!!
It’s time to unite and do everything possible to defeat Killary.
President Trump is our last chance to save our country!!!
This needs to be clear:
There are 112 Convention Rules Committee members. The 28 is the 25% threshold that allows a minority to bring something before the convention as a whole.
Unless a majority of convention delegates are willing to veto Trump, this story is just clickbait. Sadly, FReepers have been hyperventilating over this nonsense for weeks.
There is no substitute for organizational participation at the local and state level.
oh please. Blaming Cruz for everything around here is reminiscent of when the liberals blame Bush for everything.
Give him some credit. He knows that would not be a good way to get the nomination at this point.
Sure some of his ardent supporters may be helping push it, but it’s not all them and it’s certainly not an organized effort coming from Cruz camp. There are some Cruz supporters who will fight Trump to the end. Just accept it and move on. There are way many more Cruzers out there who could be won over if Trump wouldn’t act like an ass towards Cruz and Conservatives. Meeting with Cruz last week without attempting to bully him was a good start. That kind of stuff is what he needs to do to win over the Conservative base from the Cruz Camp. If he doesn’t make the effort, he will lose. Plain and simple. He needs those votes.
He doesn’t need a Cruz endorsement. Cruzers are not cult of personality followers, so they aren’t going to support someone just because the guy they like does. They are typical conservatives who look at all the issues at hand. It only seems they are “Cruz only” people because since February, conservative wise, he has been their only option to get real conservatism in the White House.
You can like what I say or not. I’m not bashing anyone, I’m telling it like it is. Accept it or don’t. But if people TRULY love this country and TRULY want to Trump to win, they need to stop bashing the very people who can help put him over the top. I’m just saying. Take what I said with an open mind and let it sink instead of letting it get you ragey. There’s no point in that.
This is all media fodder for hyping the convention. Media fodder is the same thing a sh*t to flies.
“:^)
The “elites” that think that they’re going to get to feed at the money trough are going to be in for a big surprise - because Hillary and the Dems will only share for as long as they have to do so. If the #NeverTrump folks succeed, the Pubbies will lose the Senate; after that, the pressure on the House to cave to Hillary and her “huge mandate” will be enormous, and she’ll pass whatever she wants. Then, she and her accomplices won’t need the Pubbies any more.
If anyone thinks that the Dems REALLY want a 2-party system, they’re on drugs. They envision and work toward a Chavez-style system here, one that is nominally a democracy, but that is in reality a dictatorship.
Defeat Trump, and the USA as we have known it will cease to exist. THAT is what is at stake after 8 years of Obama, coupled with the utter failure of the Republican “elites” to actually try to stop him. THAT is why Trump rose to the top, because the GOPe FAILED, UTTERLY.
What has Cruz done to discourage this GOP party-splintering/Hillary-assisting effort?
Hi, Nita.
1) I know a bunch of self-deluding Cruzers (nice folks and not stupid except on this religious response), but they are rapidly dwindling if the LOW number of people applauding our very popular Congressman’s favorable reference to Cruz at a recent fundraiser are any indication.
2) Cruz is no longer a Canadian, having publically renounced his Canadian citizenship.
3) Since his mother had to have renounced her USA citizenship to receive free Canadian meds and to vote before he was born (both of which she reportedly did), she could not have passed USA citizenship to him. Thus he is not even a US citizen of any kind. He’s a man without a country.
4) He has produced his mother’s birth certificate but has allegedly sealed all other records.
